Well were those usernames listed above/below that got their username changed back requested by the user or did you just decide to change it for no reason?

He changed it because the name change system was intended to be used for things like Beuchi-chan becoming Beuchi, and stuff like that. Therefore, he kicked some ass and rolled back names that didn't follow this original intention.DataCirno wrote:

He changed them back because the rules state you are not allowed to change your user name to something unrecognizable (it says it in big letters) to what it was before, those people didn't follow that.

Cuddlebun used her name in IRC for months, so her name change didn't cause any confusion to most people.

Sorry!You read it wrong. What peppy meant is that if you want to change your name to one that's already taken, that other account must have less than 100 plays.

The name change feature has always been restricted to users who donated (and can only be used once)
The peppy-quote above are conditions for someone *else* to essentially take over some inactive user's name. They must have not played the game significantly (less than 100 plays requirement), and must not have logged in for nearly 2 years.
The real way to read this, if you don't play osu! often, but want to make sure you don't lose your account, log in at least once a year (pretty easy) and/or get your playcount over 100. All accounts that have played at least 100 times are secured from having their names stolen.
