  2. In every part of the song with volume lowered, don't let it go lower than 40%. Very often I can't even tell if I'm being accurate during the middle of a stream or some other because of how the song is still making sound louder than the hits.
  3. In addition, the section with 100% is really, really loud.
  4. 00:21:843 (97) - There are 2 green lines here, one is unsnapped obviously.
  5. 00:51:151 (254) - Unsnapped green line on this note.
  6. 00:03:151 (10,11) - Why aren't these following the rhythm of what 00:02:689 (8,9) - maps? I think it's a better idea.
  7. 00:05:458 - Add 'd' because ^?
  8. 01:35:689 (493) - Remove finish? Not much to emphasize at all. (liked the freestyling before this :3)
  9. 02:00:151 (605) - Since you're mapping all these kicks as big notes, why not this one?

  2. This diff also suffers from "second kiai is a lot less complex". Especially in this song where the chorus is much more "hype" the second time, having more percussion sounds in it.

    Spread from futsuu to Muzu might suck a bit, but it's dumb because mapping the weird rhythms would be lame... maybe some kxxkxxk wouldn't hurt though.

It's not that big of a deal, but there is an unsnapped green timing point (at 02:06:251) Consider snapping it

What's wrong with the Distanc in the begin (and some others throughout the map)?
00:04:304 (1,2,3) - This for example, 1.13 and 1.0
00:06:151 (4,1,2) - 1.0 and 1.2
01:48:612 (3,4) - 1 and 0.77
02:23:227 (5,1) - 1.0 and 1.34
For aesthetical reasons, it's better to stick with 1.2 (so the 1/2 doesn't hit each other)
I'll point out some general flaws in the rest of the mod for this diff, as you know what do to with the distance
  1. 00:13:535 (4,1) - The flow here is quite broken, due to the movement created here
  2. 00:17:227 (5) - You use 1/1 and 1/2 throughout the map, and then suddenly a long 3/2 slider. Why? It feels really out of place
  3. 00:23:227 (1) - Too fast after the spinner. Altough it's a normal, it's the easiest diff of the set, and thus should be treated as one
  4. 00:52:766 (1) - ^^ (Happens more times in the map)
  5. 01:38:920 - Wrong sample? (Happens more)
Diff isn't bad, but it's just quite old, and therefore feels a bit bad. Idk how to express this properly, but I don't like it, well, I don't like alsmot every older map so that's not that big of a deal

I like this diff, just a few things
Low spacing after a 1/4 slider feels quite awkward, Also some spacings feel quite weird and outdated, but the map is old so it's fine

Normal needs more adjustments. Hard/Insane are both fine
Call me once you fix the DS, and get 3-4 mods mostly (if not only) on Normal and it'll be fine for rebub :3

Thanks for the mod started.
I understand for the pop (well that doesn't surprise me at all) i'll try to fix issues when then mod will be finished.

Also about your opinon on normal i'm ok about that but that's not a big deal too, i mean the mapset a 1,5 years and map style has been change. So as long as we can resolve issues that can makes the map unrankable that's ok, but if it's about mapstyle is old, well... what would you expect from and old map xD

All DS has been fixed. But SR is 2.00 DDD: General flow and patterns have been changed too because i cannot reproduce what i've done with 1.20, in terms of rythm, that's hasn't changed

I like this diff, just a few things
Low spacing after a 1/4 slider feels quite awkward, Also some spacings feel quite weird and outdated, but the map is old so it's fine

Normal needs more adjustments. Hard/Insane are both fine
Call me once you fix the DS, and get 3-4 mods mostly (if not only) on Normal and it'll be fine for rebub :3

regarding the Normal-Diff you asked me to mod:
I looked over it and one issue in terms of spread I see is that this diff doesn't follow the guidelines for an Easy-Difficulty. Sure 130bpm is not fast but not very slow either and 1.4 SV and 1.2 DS is quite a lot. On top of it you're not holding back with red ticks at all which makes the map even faster. Assuming an untrained hand this is kind of difficult to aim. I have a lot of trouble doing the map lefthanded with a righthanded mouse in a mouse-only playstyle and I don't have problems starters typically have(Reading, being accurate with rhythm, waiting for the note etc.).
This is mostly a design-choice though. For what the map currently is, the parameters are chosen well. If one tried to force an easier difficulty by lowering SV(that's a major problem I see for this to become easy) the 1/2 sliders would become really ugly and it wouldn't harmonize with the other settings.

The thing is that I don't think it makes any sense if I try to push the difficulty down with a mod because as mentioned, this won't be following the criteria for Easy by Design.
Whether it will be rankable is up to the BNs/QATs discretion of course but I would rather mod this with the incentive that this is a difficult normal diff on the edge to hard that is used to optimize the spread instead of completing it - because this is what the map looks like after all.

Personally I would recommend you to map an additional Easy-Diff. If you do I would mod the Easy+Normal-Diff. Give me feedback on what you will do via pm please ;)

Yep you got the point, but i looked on some recent map (Artic justice from Pereira006 his normal has 1.30 SV and 1.20 DS so that's fine

But but, why we should focus on easy criteria for a Normal diff, that doesn't make sense. Why just don't see look at the criteria of a normal diff and see if it fits or not. As the ranking criteria says Mapsets must have at least two difficulties of the same game mode, one of which must be an Easy/Normal level.

The problem Endaris meant is the fact that Normal is the easiest difficulty, but it's not easy
Many people are cautious when not adding an easy to a set, as most of the Easy-Only rules apply to those diffs as well (according to quite a lot of modders/BN/QAT)

I would nearly pm'ed you, but that what i was afraid of.
I guess i would like to avoid since it a long music, it'll need more mods, and at the start i though that an easy diff wasn't necesary (paladin didn't had it and it was fine) but because of how long we've been to this step (with iconing/bubbling), 1.5 year has been done, mapstyle has changed, ranking criteria too.

Also because of the DS changes the diff has rise to 2.0 SR which suck a bit since it's not an hard diff at all.

But well... fuck an easy diff will have to be done.

The difficulty spread should be linear and reasonable. Linear difficulty spread means your difficulties have a comparable gap in star rating between each other. A reasonable spread means the usage of difficulty appropriate gameplay elements. If your mapset does not have an Easy difficulty your Normal difficulty should follow the general guidelines for Easy difficulties.
That's the guideline in question so it's not a myth or the mere opinion of many modders/BN/QAT.
Of course it's only a guideline so it can be broken but I don't feel like this is an edgy case where most of the mapdesign is suited for Easy and just some isn't.
The thought behind this guideline is that the lowest diff of each mapset is suited to be the first map for a new player and a map featuring as much 1/2 as your Normal isn't because it makes the map effectively twice as fast.
You're certainly right when you're saying that I just can't play well with the playstyle I used to testplay the map but there still shows a huge difference in performance between this Normal-Diff, the Normal-Diff of your Paladin-Mapset and a 1.5* "Normal"-Diff(has a few Normal-elements but mostly easy).

I don't care about that conversation, in fact I just pretended to be cool with that and give this map a last chance and move on despite disagreeing with the tremendous cynicism that you were showing.

Ah, a little fuzz here. I talked with both parties and we settled it somehow. Sorry for the inconvenience guys, but should be fine by now. And I think after all the talk, it's time to look for the Taiko itself, right?

Actually the Oni is quite nice. Many patterns reflect their own beat which do fit well. But it might be not bad to think one more time about the calm parts, since they seem to be a little too dense. And additionaly to this, I think the SVs must be refined as they do not reflect the pace of the song really well. Yeah of course, I might be wrong. But comparing patterns like 02:03:843 or 03:04:766 with the song, I think it is easy to distiguise that those SV acceleration and deccelartion do not really fit well here, since the pace of the song works in a different way. I will come to it later.

  1. 00:00:151 - I guess the SV is fine, but just wanted to mention that from a personal standpoint, I would probably rather go for less notes instead of changing the SV.
  2. 00:07:535 (29) - Mh, think the finisher is really necessary? I mean, there is no real sound for it and it rather stands alone. Reference is probably to the first upcoming and previous finisher, but there, the sound was more reasonable for their use.
  3. 00:18:612 (77) - Would have prefered a D instead, since that bass is really deep.
  4. 00:20:458 - Could be done, but from a personal standpoint I think a slider would be better here. I assume you use that SV change due to the high pitched streched sound in the background, but I do not believe that SV change fits that well here, especially since it isn't a sound you make it pretend to be. Kinda subjective, huh? Well, I prefer the safer side as well. But it would at least to what I mentioned at 02:01:997 - .

If you would do that, your first kiai would be also much more emphasized, as it would be the only part with a higher SV! Give it a try. I think it really is worth it.

I'm pretty sure if certain parts would have less notes, you would be able to emphasize upcoming parts even without changing the SV and having at the end probably a higher impact as well. I think once that has been considered (and hopefully changed, but not forced to do) there shouldn't be any problem. Good job so far.

Most of the stuff below revolves around that.

I also took a quick glance at the hard to ensure that I'm not suggesting stuff that doesn't make sense in relation to the other two difficulties around this one~

  1. 00:05:227 (2) - I would cut this slider in two singles and remove 00:05:920 (3) - . Background is that the song starts out with low intensity and builds up step by step which is probably why you already skipped a repeat at 00:05:458 - as intensity is still low here. With the 1/2 break in the middle this feels less dense and less intensive.
  1. Also consider giving 00:06:151 (4) - one more repeat
  1. 00:08:920 (3) - I would redesign this, again with growing intensity in my mind as

    The first consecutive pattern(1+2+3) is already more dense than anything you got before while the 2 1/2 singles are a novelty for this diff, transferring the feeling of growing intensity as well.
Looking at the overall progress, if you apply the suggestions above your maximum pattern length in 1/2 for your first 5 combos would be 1,2,3,4,5 gameplayelements which looks pretty awesome to me.
  1. 00:20:458 (4) - Whistle seems a bit weak here, I'd rather go with a finish, I think it's also safe to move the spinner on the blue tick as you designed 4+spinner as one gameplayelement as far as I can see.
Regarding the following part until the Kiai I think you are quite inconsistent. The song itself is very repetitive and while I appreciate your urge to variate the patterns you use to represent the repeating patterns of the song I think it is better to stick to one pattern at a time.
Idk, I'll just count the patterns of the melody for you, they repeat every four measures and the first two measure of each complete pattern are identical.
I will use the following encryption: numbers from 1 to 4 for the beats of the respective measure the measure starts with a downbeat(big white tick) and ends with the next downbeat, + for red ticks used by the melody and b for blue ticks used by the melody(I will make a space if any of + or b is unused)
The first pattern starts at 00:22:304 - and there's always a note on the beats(1234).
1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 1 + 2  b3 + 4   1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 
As you can see that's basically just
1 + 2  b3 + 4 +
with the only variation being the fourth red tick being left out in the second measure (for example 00:25:766 - ) and the melody going up on the fourth beat of every third measure.
And this whole pattern is repeated a whopping FOUR times, with the singular patterns starting at 00:22:304 - 00:29:689 - 00:37:074 - 00:44:458 - with the only difference being that some more instrumentalisation is added from the third repitition onwards.
tl;dr this part of the song is totally repetitive by design and your mapdesign should follow this. It doesn't right now.

I would recommend you to think of four different map-patterns that represent the rhythmic figure described above. Use one of the patterns consistently within one repitition. On the following one use a different mapping interpretation of the pattern and be consistent with that. Try to arrange the map-patterns you thought of in a sensible sequence - as the later two are more intense compared to the earlier ones due to instrumentalisation use the map-patterns that are more dense on these(or have more active clicks via circles over sliders).

^Something like that. That way every repitition makes sense in itself but as you use a new map pattern to represent the sound on every repitition it still doesn't get boring. Instead the playability is increased through consistency within a pattern and better readability as a result. It also makes for really nice symmetric arrangements.

You can use the same concept in the Kiai-Time and literally every other part of the song due to how heavily repititionbased it is(just with a different rhythm of course).
The majority of what is mapped in this difficulty sounds good in the moment itself but due to the song design I think you really have to look at the greater context everything stands in to make this a normal-diff of high quality. Right now everything looks a bit random and it doesn't play as smooth as it could.

I'd like to see some stuff changed based on emphasis. The only exciting points where the song gets some extra dynamics usable by this diff are the downbeats when the chords of the synthesizer changes. This is not so important in the intropart where the background is rather quiet but from 00:22:304 (1) - onwards and wherever the drums are banging hard.
Most of the stuff below revolves around that.

  1. 01:45:381 (3) - Move this down a bit? being on the same line as 01:44:458 (2) - seems to be more important for visuals than the blanket around 01:43:535 (1) - as it will have vanished before 3 is build up completely did fix blanket here
  1. 01:49:074 (3) - move it a bit to the left for looks, distance to 01:47:227 (1,2) - is uneven right now fixed
  1. 01:58:304 (1,2,3) - ctrl+g makes this more sensible in terms of supporting the lead-in for the chorus as 02:00:151 - lines up fairly well with that synthesizer starting to increase in pitch I think the current rhythm its fine and gives more variation to the song
  1. 02:29:227 (4) - Arrange this so that the player can tap on the downbeat somehow fixed
  1. 02:42:612 (2,3,1,2) - ctrl+g one of the measures. The way it is now 02:44:458 (1) - feels a lot more important than 02:42:612 (2) - for no actual reason. In context with the following measure I would ctrl+g 02:44:458 (1,2) - here same I prefer to keep for variation

Actually the Oni is quite nice. Many patterns reflect their own beat which do fit well. But it might be not bad to think one more time about the calm parts, since they seem to be a little too dense. And additionaly to this, I think the SVs must be refined as they do not reflect the pace of the song really well. Yeah of course, I might be wrong. But comparing patterns like 02:03:843 or 03:04:766 with the song, I think it is easy to distiguise that those SV acceleration and deccelartion do not really fit well here, since the pace of the song works in a different way. I will come to it later.

  1. 00:00:151 - I guess the SV is fine, but just wanted to mention that from a personal standpoint, I would probably rather go for less notes instead of changing the SV. Ok but not too much, i'm afraid of creating conflicts with Oni. I stop deleting until 00:14:920 because the "hype" starts here and the patterns are fine enough.
  2. 00:07:535 (29) - Mh, think the finisher is really necessary? I mean, there is no real sound for it and it rather stands alone. Reference is probably to the first upcoming and previous finisher, but there, the sound was more reasonable for their use. Fixed, no real reason as you said, it's not so intense.
  3. 00:18:612 (77) - Would have prefered a D instead, since that bass is really deep. Ok, but i have to change into D k k instead in order to make a contrast with D.
  4. 00:20:458 - Could be done, but from a personal standpoint I think a slider would be better here. I assume you use that SV change due to the high pitched streched sound in the background, but I do not believe that SV change fits that well here, especially since it isn't a sound you make it pretend to be. Kinda subjective, huh? Well, I prefer the safer side as well. But it would at least to what I mentioned at 02:01:997 - . I'm ok for a slider the stream part is not clear in terms of music.

  5. 00:11:227 (44) - I'm very sure that it would be better to have this as don as you have a supporting sound for this and a don at 00:07:535 (29) - as well. Totally agree. Why you go backward xD
  6. 00:29:112 (137) - Maybe delete this note. It felt unnatural due to an artificially extended don beat for the sound at 00:29:227 - . (Is it even understandable what I mean? lol) Yep, deleted. The triple is more noticable by this way.
  7. 00:36:612 - Recommending not using a SV change for a single note like that one. It still belongs to the stanza of 00:35:227 - , hence, should use the same SV as well as it belongs to that pattern pack. But beside that... Deleted SV change, the next acceleration part is ok for me and interesting to see.
  8. 00:37:074 - ... I'm not really found of that idea with the SV, especially after looking at this 00:49:766 . I see the idea behind it. You want to emphasize it more due to the higher impact in the song. But you could have instead use the standard SV and have less patterns starting from 00:22:766 -. It would have the same (if not higher) effect and would avoid having that questionable SV change at 00:49:766 . If you would do that, your first kiai would be also much more emphasized, as it would be the only part with a higher SV! Give it a try. I think it really is worth it. Well ewww... ok, deleted SV change and cleaned the first part of large pattern. T_T Also readjuste next SV change and make it smoother

    Additional to this, you could have (as I mentioned before) a big slider at 02:03:843 for that stretched high sound. Would fit as well; avoid possible questionable Sv change; fit to previous finisher usage. I'll keep the stream since the music is more intense as the first part, so it's legit. About the SV i prefer make some gaps previously to show intensity of the music rather than on the stream (WE'RE NOT AT BONEFIR GUYS PWAPWAPWAPWOPWAPWAPWO)

Well, as I said: Nice difficulty. But after checking it in a more deep way, I came to the conclusion that you should reconsider the density in some parts. I'm pretty sure if certain parts would have less notes, you would be able to emphasize upcoming parts even without changing the SV and having at the end probably a higher impact as well. I think once that has been considered (and hopefully changed, but not forced to do) there shouldn't be any problem. Good job so far.

Remmapped this section, because it was a muzukashii, we needed some breaks, but i had to do a big hole sice a little break won't make sense at all.
  4. 01:55:420 - Ah, you should really have another note here. It stops too abrupt. Fixed (only for this one, the others are fine since it has less intensity)

  5. 02:08:920 (386) - What I said previously (same for upcoming one). Same thing
  6. 02:37:535 (483,484,485,486) - I noticed it before already, but I'm sure you should find a better solution for this. The pattern would be normaly kkkk, but you splited it up to a more lineal way, which sounds kinda weird due to the natural odd way the song goes at such parts. Yes because at first sight it was a muzuuz, so it was the best way to do, now since it's an Oni we can go for this. But i've done this only for this kind of pattern, the others should not go on the same way. Let's try this.

I also took a quick glance at the hard to ensure that I'm not suggesting stuff that doesn't make sense in relation to the other two difficulties around this one~

  1. 00:05:227 (2) - I would cut this slider in two singles and remove 00:05:920 (3) - . Background is that the song starts out with low intensity and builds up step by step which is probably why you already skipped a repeat at 00:05:458 - as intensity is still low here. With the 1/2 break in the middle this feels less dense and less intensive.
I should have done this no matter what the argues, sliders end on big white tick is not a good idea too aaaaaaaa, plus it's consistent with one of teh next pattern too

  1. Also consider giving 00:06:151 (4) - one more repeat
This one, i disagree, it could be legit but have 3/4 void should be avoided (pun intended) on normal diff, better having 3/2 instead.

  1. 00:08:920 (3) - I would redesign this, again with growing intensity in my mind as

    The first consecutive pattern(1+2+3) is already more dense than anything you got before while the 2 1/2 singles are a novelty for this diff, transferring the feeling of growing intensity as well.
    Fixed, but in a way that it is consistent with the previous combos (meaning that 2 little sliders instead).
Looking at the overall progress, if you apply the suggestions above your maximum pattern length in 1/2 for your first 5 combos would be 1,2,3,4,5 gameplayelements which looks pretty awesome to me.


  1. 00:20:458 (4) - Whistle seems a bit weak here, I'd rather go with a finish, I think it's also safe to move the spinner on the blue tick as you designed 4+spinner as one gameplayelement as far as I can see.
    Prefer keeping finishers for beats (added hs by the way). Whistle is ok imo.
Regarding the following part until the Kiai I think you are quite inconsistent. The song itself is very repetitive and while I appreciate your urge to variate the patterns you use to represent the repeating patterns of the song I think it is better to stick to one pattern at a time.
Idk, I'll just count the patterns of the melody for you, they repeat every four measures and the first two measure of each complete pattern are identical.
I will use the following encryption: numbers from 1 to 4 for the beats of the respective measure the measure starts with a downbeat(big white tick) and ends with the next downbeat, + for red ticks used by the melody and b for blue ticks used by the melody(I will make a space if any of + or b is unused)
The first pattern starts at 00:22:304 - and there's always a note on the beats(1234).
1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 1 + 2  b3 + 4   1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 1 + 2  b3 + 4 + 
As you can see that's basically just
1 + 2  b3 + 4 +
with the only variation being the fourth red tick being left out in the second measure (for example 00:25:766 - ) and the melody going up on the fourth beat of every third measure.
And this whole pattern is repeated a whopping FOUR times, with the singular patterns starting at 00:22:304 - 00:29:689 - 00:37:074 - 00:44:458 - with the only difference being that some more instrumentalisation is added from the third repitition onwards.
tl;dr this part of the song is totally repetitive by design and your mapdesign should follow this. It doesn't right now.

I would recommend you to think of four different map-patterns that represent the rhythmic figure described above. Use one of the patterns consistently within one repitition. On the following one use a different mapping interpretation of the pattern and be consistent with that. Try to arrange the map-patterns you thought of in a sensible sequence - as the later two are more intense compared to the earlier ones due to instrumentalisation use the map-patterns that are more dense on these(or have more active clicks via circles over sliders).

^Something like that. That way every repitition makes sense in itself but as you use a new map pattern to represent the sound on every repitition it still doesn't get boring. Instead the playability is increased through consistency within a pattern and better readability as a result. It also makes for really nice symmetric arrangements.

You can use the same concept in the Kiai-Time and literally every other part of the song due to how heavily repititionbased it is(just with a different rhythm of course).
The majority of what is mapped in this difficulty sounds good in the moment itself but due to the song design I think you really have to look at the greater context everything stands in to make this a normal-diff of high quality. Right now everything looks a bit random and it doesn't play as smooth as it could.
Ok i'll try that, but it will take me some times.
