Greetings.
Short update.
I found some time for fixing the fullscreen problem.
If you want to play in fullscreen, you need to enable the MSN integration inside osu!.
osu!Post will still work without doing this, but if you want to play fullscreen and post your full "Now Playing" information, you need to do this.
Just look inside the Online-Tab of the osu!-Options.

First you need to login here, if you scroll further down past the templates you'll find a Configure button, inside the Custom signature box.
Go there, after that you can upload your image and customize it with the values in the textbox below, a little documentation about the values is in the About box, accessible by hovering over them.

I reworked the config site a little, Custom Signature is now on top and the Customize button will only show if you actually uploaded an image, the customization has also been improved quite a lot.
If you got any feedback on that, feel free to drop me a message.
I will add the Font Selection feature soonish, same goes for the Rank Display.
(As stated in the main post and on the customization site, things will more likely be added if there is a request/demand for it, so if you need a feature, you know where to drop the message.)

Keep in mind that you need to enable the osu! MSN integration if you are playing in Fullscreen mode.
But as I can see on the Screenshot this is not the case, so this shouldn't be the problem.
Looks like osu!Post couldn't recognise the running osu! instance, in rare cases if osu!Post is at fault restarting osu!Post helps.

I usually start up osu!Post, then manually start osu afterwards. Been doing this since early beta and had no problem at all.

After fiddling around and brainstorming tonight (thanks to Nathanael), I realised that something else is accessing osu!.db and that forces osu produce a dump instead of writing out the normal osu!.db file. I closed osu!Post before starting osu and that fixed the problem. I can have osu!Post running again and manually start osu just like before.
The problem simply went away and I'm unable to reproduce it again. I'll stick to my usual routine and report back if the problem returns.

Strange, I am not even putting locks on it when reading the .db file.
I can't really reproduce this, but I will investigate if osu!Post is the cause and why.
And for the collections, I am not touching them at all.

A little suggestion: delete the cache after every hour.
Since a lot of people do long play sessions and they play lots of beatmaps, sometimes the cache of the app becomes very high, and sometimes I see in the task manager that osu!post uses even more RAM than osu! itself.
So, my suggestion is to delete the cache hourly.

The customization interface will get a rework again soon, now that I added three more boxes its getting pretty crowded.

The osu!Post backend is now fully compatible with Piotrekols app osu!StreamCompanion!So if you stream a lot and still want to use the osu!Post signature, simply switch to osu!SC!
A big feature of osu!SC is also the "Waching"/"Playing" status, so if you spectate someone or watch a replay it won't be shown as "Playing" on your signature, but "Watching" instead.
(The osu!Post app will be updated with that feature later on.)
New features
- Cleaned up the customization a little and finally added a color picker
- Added the cursor coordinate if you hover over your image (while customizing), so it should be a little bit easier to place everything correctly

I'd recommend switching to osu!StreamCompanion if you don't want to wait for the osu!Post update.
(Baiscally the same tool with additional functions and fully included osu!Post support.)

Just uploaded the fix for the new .db format, finally got around to do it.
There might be some "follow up"-updates, but osu!Post will automatically update like always, so don't worry about it.
If there are still problems, feel free to leave a post or write a PM directly.

Just a quick note on the development, I am currently reworking the page content and also the design.The design will be adjusted to fit the "osu!Theme", we'll see how it works out.
As for the content, the site will most likely be easier to handle then and it will also provide more information, such as "About" or "Tutorials".
Also, the links of the page will change, but don't worry, the old signature links will still work.

osu!Post no longer seems to detect when I'm online. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue or if it's just something on my end. If it is on my end, I'm not sure what could be causing it, as everything seems to look fine. No errors in the logs either.

I won't update it anytime soon, if you want a good alternative for now, you should check osu!StreamCompanion it has many good features including osu!Post support. I will still look into whats causing the trouble, but the next update will take some time as I want to rewrite osu!Post in another language.SlasherZX wrote:

However, i just got Osu!SC and that confuses me, i got most of it set up but i couldnt get my IRC auth and not sure how osu!post works for that either.

First you should tell it where your osu! folder location is located.
You can find this setting by pressing on Config.
After that, still inside the Config, go to the osu!Post tab and check Enable osu!Post and also input your osu! user id & osu!Post key.
After that close the Config window, press Reload on the main window. If its still telling you its not finding your beatmaps, you seem to have the wrong folder.
After you got that working start up osu! on a random map, osu!SC should now display your map and also send it to the osu!Post backend.
Also remember to do this inside osu!, without that it won't work.
On a side note, I finally started rewriting osu!Post in C# a while ago, not sure when it will be finished, but surely sometime... same goes for the new website.

Because of the .php extension for the image by default, it may not work on other sites as easily unless the site is capable of allowing it in signatures. You could either request that the other forums allow/add the extension to be useable (which would be hard to convince them to do, because when people think of allowing public php, they think of security risks). Or you could convert the code into an image file type like .png, which should be doable, I'm just not sure how exactly.Maralina wrote:

As for it showing that you're offline, it's similar to issues others have been having. If you check out the osu!Stream Companion linked by the guy above your post, it has osu!Post integration and that seems work perfectly fine to fix the offline problem.

Do I use osu! post or osu! companion and if I use the companion(I already tried to) I can't figure out how to edit the look of the image.
osu!Post on it's own doesn't work right now, and needs to be used through osu!Companion. Make sure to enable osu!Post's integration through it. Not sure about the "Failed to show preview image!" error part, but the other thing has been answered quite a few times within the last few pages. The original osu!Post program won't show you being online. Please use osu!StreamCompanion with it's osu!Post integration for now. Since the preview image isn't needed in osu!SC, that should be irrelevant as well. Its been quite some time...
Just a small heads up:
In short:
Possible downtimes soonish due to new Website and Backend structure, Application on hold, future plans for way easier custom images (again, again).

There might be a few downtimes within the next weeks, as I am about to change a few things.
Those won't be really long, I doubt anybody will notice them, but they might happen.
Development (Application):
I didn't work on it that much recently, but I got asked quite a few times about the source, especially the MSN Integration part.
If you are also interested in that and also want to build applications like that, feel free to PM me, I'll give you the lastest code.
(MSN-Intgeration source available in C# and Delphi currently.)
I got a beta build ready, but its still far from release and I doubt I will work on it again soon, as I think osu!SC is doing an amazing job.

The funny thing is, I had a new version of the website ready for quite some time now, its the last 5% that I just didn't finish...
It has also already been tested a bit, I just need to convert the old userdata/custom stuff to the new structure and finish up/clean up some important parts.
(If I don't encounter problems/errors while doing that.)
As for osu!SC users, don't worry, it will be compatible without the need to update it.
But to be honest, I am still quite unhappy with the custom image creation, but I decided to upload it within the next weeks anyways and rework it after that.
(Thats why the downtimes might happen.)
The now upcoming custom image creation is still a bit wonky at some parts, but its working.
I am aware that its mostly annoying to upload the images and the features are not quite explained well, atleast I feel that way.
My aim for the future of the custom images:
There might be a few downtimes within the next weeks, as I am about to change a few things.
Those won't be really long, I doubt anybody will notice them, but they might happen.
Development (Application):
I didn't work on it that much recently, but I got asked quite a few times about the source, especially the MSN Integration part.
If you are also interested in that and also want to build applications like that, feel free to PM me, I'll give you the lastest code.
(MSN-Intgeration source available in C# and Delphi currently.)
I got a beta build ready, but its still far from release and I doubt I will work on it again soon, as I think osu!SC is doing an amazing job.
Development (Website):
The funny thing is, I had a new version of the website ready for quite some time now, its the last 5% that I just didn't finish...
It has also already been tested a bit, I just need to convert the old userdata/custom stuff to the new structure and finish up/clean up some important parts.
(If I don't encounter problems/errors while doing that.)
As for osu!SC users, don't worry, it will be compatible without the need to update it.
But to be honest, I am still quite unhappy with the custom image creation, but I decided to upload it within the next weeks anyways and rework it after that.
(Thats why the downtimes might happen.)
The now upcoming custom image creation is still a bit wonky at some parts, but its working.
I am aware that its mostly annoying to upload the images and the features are not quite explained well, atleast I feel that way.
My aim for the future of the custom images:
- More features/options
- Different backgrounds (Online/Offline/Playing)
- Easy Drag & Drop placement (Rather than just with numbers)
- Better previews (Without having to save the image)
In short:
Possible downtimes soonish due to new Website and Backend structure, Application on hold, future plans for way easier custom images (again, again).

Sorry for the double post, but I just ment to bump this as I just pushed the new system live.
I converted all the styles/images and data to the new system.
It appears a few old signatures couldn't correctly be converted, mainly the [Online] / [Offline] parts, this is due to the new Left/Right/Center options.
They are rather easy to understand:
Again, the customization is only a placeholder right now, until the new more userfriendly one is ready.

I kinda wish that one can set separate anchors for Text 1/2 (Now Playing). I kinda wish to push the song info down a little further from "Playing:" without going to a smaller font:

You're welcome. Also, I think there should be a template to match the osu! signature's "In-game panel - Status version" style. It only makes sense, after all. And to go along with it, more statuses (like modding and multiplaying) should be able to detected. RAM watching would probably be required for some statuses, though, but that'd also help with osu!StreamCompanion confusing the "nekodex - circles!" menu theme with the map of the same.
