Holy shit! What did they do to Fenrir? He seems so bad now since they pretty much nerfed every single item he builds both defense and offense. I literally instantly die to AoE damage in team fights now. I think he might actually be worse than Warwick is on League now and thats saying something. Sigh... Might be done with this game since the only god I really like playing is really frustrating now. =\

Edit: Seems you have to build him more bruiser-ish or you get absolutely wrecked when team fights happen. Can't stack lifesteal items and be unkillable anymore lol. It was kinda OP anyways.

Haha yeah. But what is worse is the Hand of the God nerf. Since then... well Loki is unplayable in conquest :/ it's always great to play diffrent gods so that you can see how they are played. I never really played any other gods before Loki and Neith. Then there was Freya jungle, Ao mid, diffrent Hunters and Assassins, also Fenrir and Anubis :D I really like the more animalistic gods now, the other seem boring. Bruiser Fenrir best Fenrir :) carried games with him

Fenrir is definitely playable still just not as strong and no where near it. I have a lot of issues with him right now and most of it is stuff I can't control due to bugs.

Fenrir can be CC'd in his ultimate despite what the description says. I've been stunned/snared/silenced mid ulti several times since I started playing again.

His 3 doesn't tick all the way through some times.

The fact that he can be completely countered by a 300 gold item would be excusable if the above wasn't a problem. I'm fine with there being counterplay, but at the moment there is just way too much that you are probably better off picking something else in the majority of all matches.

Also the item changes made warriors in this game beyond broken. If one of them manages to get ahead they can pretty much dish out a ton of damage while being incredibly tanky. It's quite frustrating to play against.

Yeah. Gods like Ares and Hades too are countered way to easy with beads. I get them nearly every game, also sprint as standard active. Warriors are just stupid (Nemesis, Tyr, Chaac, Vamana). They survive early game pretty easy, and stomp lategame. Chaac ult does actually silence Fenrir (for whatever reason). Also, maybe the imunity is only a short time? Idk, like Bakasura (1.5 sec CC imunity, not known by many players xD).

The worst thing is Joust ranked. You just need to know how to play a handfull of gods that are good in that kind of matches (Guan ju, Kali, some mages, handfull of Hunters, Loki, Bakasura, Mercury, Freya, #&!" Chang'e). You can't bann all of them, just the hard counters to the god you want to play <.< Some bann even random gods like Sobek, Ymir because they have no life and all OP gods legendary (not looking at you Yuketsu). Got dunked today by a Legendary Loki, that just towersat after giving up first #&!@ Blood. The matchup is way to random, you just need to towersit and win, saw that too much by Chang'es, even in casuals. I want Casual joust back, pls HiRez.

Ranked is so horrible, if you play Conquest, they are like: We have first pick, gonna bann shit and pick OP stuff. Picks Loki. Can't play him, gives him to me. Then says, ok you go jungle?! even though I called mid o.O Told him that I go mid a few times. He started raging when I picked him Anubis to Jungle o.o Ranked = Flamewar in the Lobby
I heard from Silver players in the Lobby how they had BaRRaCCuDDa in the Team a game before (Diamond player, currently at the 200k Tournament). The Playerbase is just to small for Ranked

Biting CC immune targets ends it (Artemis, Chaac), but I shouldn't get stunned/silenced before hand. The reason I know it's a bug is because it wasn't always like this. It started around the first time they tried to fix Fenrir's bite animation bug on his ulti. I've already reported this on the reddit, but I only really got a couple of meaningful responses so hopefully it will be fixed soon. The 3 bug is getting fixed probably next patch.

Also matchmaking fix next patch according to reddit? So I might start playing this game again. :)

Many gods are bugged (Nemesis dash extremly hard). You can land with the Loki ult in the enemy base or outside the map :/
I got all Limited skins except Jingle Hel, Wreck the Halls Fenrir, Feaster Bunny Bakasura, Convention skin 2012 and 2014 (I get the 2014 soon, though). They said they will fix stuff and release new things for the next 6 Months and then stop to work on another project (GA 2 maybe). I guess they will still fix stuff afterwards. But currently, the game is pretty balanced otherwise, just remembering Ah Muzen Cab prenerf (free Pentas), Nemesis Release (slow every 5 Seconds) or the 2 doom months of level 1 Pentas from Arachne (The eggs were able to solo goldcamps)... The recent gods weren't released too OP and just needed small tweaks.

The Launchtournament was super hype and nice to watch, I love how the Players act (Lassiz got hugged in before the final match by Joungbae or another TSM player idk their names) and nobody searches stupid excuses for losses. Also, the Penta from Gamehunter was pretty nice :D Would have expected Cloud 9 to win xD They were so long 1. EU and had such interesting picks :D

The game is more balanced than it has been yeah, but it's far from being properly balanced. I'm a game designer and from my perspective here are some things that need to be tweaked.

Some Mages (to an extent) and Warriors need to be toned down. Warriors are too damn strong at this point mostly due to a lot of the early game items being nerfed for assassins with the rehaul a couple months back. Honestly if it was up to me that role wouldn't exist. My philosophy is you either deal a lot of damage with limited tankyness (both kit and items) or you don't while maintaining great disruptives with team utility A.K.A Assassin or Guardian. You can't have both amazing tank and strong damage stats on one role it doesn't work in any moba. On top of that they are hard as shit to properly balance because they will either be overwhelmingly strong or useless.

The bruiser class in league is a similar role and it has become a big issue to the point that Riot has to rehaul the whole class. I really hope hirez doesn't let it get out of hand like LoL did or it's going to bite them in the butt down the road.

Some items need to tweaked. Mostly gold value issues here, but nothing big since the revamp. :)

If beads would get the Sprint treatment, I'm totally ok with it. But actually, it's good that there is a counter for every ultimate. Sometimes I felt in League, that every damn ability would hit me and that I couldn't do a damn thing about it. And who ever let's actives on rank 1, has either Autobuy, is a Jungler with stun or has no clue what he's doing. Abilitys get an interesting passive (sprint has slow imunity, beads cdr reduction, blink extra movement speed and on). If you think about Ne Zha, ulti and another ability useless if the oponent is smart enough to buy beads and magis blessing. Same with Zeus (still a pain, though). The variety of builds and items is defined by the abilitys from a god, and rarely, base stats. You could easy go Bakasura bruiser (which is really OP vs Mages) similar to the recent Fenrir builds. In higher Level 30 tiers you get people that analyze every single bit of your build and counter you (especially Tanks and Assassins). Like: oh the Tank there has so much health, inb4 let's get Quins Sais and some Pen. The Tank could be like: Oh that hunter and assassin build full crit, let's focus more on protection.

You could also force Beads from your enemy with fist, and then ult him :D That's what most Ares are doing, forcing Beads with the chain and then Ult...

Also, I would get a higher cooldown on beads, no matter which rank (like 1 min longer).

There is a huge (HUGE) difference to counter playing something because you outplayed them, but completely nullifying something with a 300 gold item that is a press of a button is hardly counterplay.

Having too much counter play to things is a bad thing. It will get to a point to where it comes down to "oh I can't play this because everything in the game counters it" (too high of a risk for a meh reward) while other things not so much. People will just play what ever has the least counterplay which is already happening in high level play.

My whole point with beads is it shouldn't give both a cleanse and an immunity while having pretty much no cost at all. No other active in the game is really as strong except maybe sprint which got nerfed like twice now.

Also Fenrir isn't really being played in high level games because surprise surprise a 300 gold item completely removes his Ultimate which is his only team fight presence ability. This is also why he wasn't picked in the 200k tourny.

There is still a hardcounter for every ult (except Wukong, Athena, Kali, Ah Muzen Cab and some others I can't remember). Kalis ult is the only one dealing Damage and beeing a huge buff for her (after last patch even more lol). Was Kali picked at the 200k? No. Her Kit has limited usefullness (Arena, Joust 1v1). If you want to get champs like Fenrir or Loki in the Conquest Meta again, you gonna have a bad time. Since HoG nerf Loki will never be picked again: Possibility too high that you feed at the beginning. His jungle still terrible and the clear lacking until you hit level 9 as long as you ignore your ultimate
Also: Freya Ult is only stupid when you don't buy Aegis, but why is she picked often? She actually can help the team with the rest of her kit (Banish) and her ult gives not really a reason to pick up aegis since you won't use it anyway for another thing. It's wasted.
Ra is picked over Ao kuang, Heals are better in teamfights then fast abilitys and a higher damage Ult. Hel also picked often in solo for the same reason...
Also, Beads are picked because other shit: Hades, Ymir, Bakasura, FoG, Nemesis, Ares, Loki, AMC, Apollo, Artemis, Freya, Ao Kuang, Ra, Kali, Chaac, Isis, Tyr, Ne Zha, Bastet, Zhong Kui, Zeus, Xbalanque and this list could go on.
Stupid, right? In higher Elo you will see the god damn sprint beads meta. And even there... a Fenrir can do really good with his ult if someone used beads to escape the stun from Kali. Since he lacks in teamfights otherwise he isn't picked often: a 4v5 sucks...
Because, as long as a god can fit the team comp everything is possible (Aphrodite ban at 200k tournament)

Edit: Aphrodite was considered the badest god in the game with an useless kit, a passive doing less than the one from Ne Zha and the Ult being a bad aegis. She got played that good in the 200k for beeing banned. Also, there are pros loving Fenrir but not picking him in tournaments because of his lack in teamfights and not having the best clear.

Fact of the matter is beads does too much and it screws over a lot of gods while doing nothing to the others. The immunity after activation needs to go or they need to make a CC that can't be cleansed with it. This of course would only be on gods that need that CC to function (Fenrir).

I'm fine with things falling out of favor because of meta, but that's not the case with Fenrir or Loki at all. Even still it's not excuse for any god to remain in such a place for a long period of time.

I'm kinda mad they didn't fix MM or Fenrir's bugs with this recent patch. =\

They are gonna fix that for sure. They overdo themselves with the forum, that other champ coming out and thats why i seem they are only getting the most important fixes. Actually playing without beads is really easy currently in joust. Can't say the same about conquest. Worst part is the new Support Warrior/Bruiser pick meta. And Bastet got too OP after the last patch with her remodell ._. worse then Kali
Sprint got more expensive (FINALLY)
Currently, on Bakasura/Kali (I don't play the other gods anymore, topkek) Blink is really effective. That guy has more damage then me, but it was easy to just sit around and farm, after seeing him burn all cooldowns just blinking, fisting, and ulting https://account.hirezstudios.com/smitegame/match-details.aspx?match=55013456 Maybe this works on Fenrir (You play solo?! Or Jungle. Idk) The nearer you get, the better is brutalize I think. Just some ideas to surprise your enemys :D

I play Fenrir every role and still have over a 50% win rate in all queues with him. I don't play any other gods unless someone else picked Fenrir.
Even if Fenrir was unviable with a 0% win rate across all queue's I'd still play him every game.

((I heard rumors of a plat or dia player calling for solo everytime in ranked. picking Fenrir... He shits over legendary Ra's and stuff... nobody really knows what's happening over there... his name is something with M, did forget it lol. Ganks are big NOPES cause good escaping abilitys. If his enemy get's beads, he hits the CDR cap and just throws them out of their tower. Nobody saw him loosing a lane. He's a myth on reddit :D ))

TBH, started farming masteries, cuz it's annoying to be called a noob and i always get in matches with players that have 40+ mastery. Nearly all hunters done (I hate them, litteraly). Afterwards stupid mages, then goddamn warrior OP stuff, Tanks (Build them dmg anyway, but liking them), and then Assassins, which all are quite good^^.

And this stupid test server is a goddamn joke :/ it's unplayable

Honestly I don't care about masteries. I don't plan on playing any ranked matches for a very very long time.

That link doesn't work for me (probably because it's a mobile link), but I assume it's the warrior nerfs that are coming. I'm fine with the Warrior nerfs and all, but depending how they are nerfed mages will go back to dominating the solo lanes again if not harder than they already do.

I dislike the fact that people take Warriors and Assassins to Support instead of the normal Guardian. Guardians really need some tweaking. There are also stupid explanations, that SWK can rotate faster to midcamps and stuff, but dude, they hear like they never heard of an Athena ult.
Recently stopped playing Conquest, except premade, I feel like the community got worse. The last few games in normal Conq I had Ragequitters, People that spam VVGG when firstblood is for the enemy team and pretend they are "feeding" cuz all others are nuubs and he is so pro. Conquest needs way to much communication, and 2 muted people in my team aren't the thing i'm aiming for when playing.

And the passive of the new god is just fucked up. I see the nerfhammer already...


And too hide the matchmaking fail and size of playerbase, they will remove Masterylevel from the loadingscreen.

Hm. I figured I'd give this game a shot. Being a dota2 player and basically having MOBA in my DNA at this point, I quite enjoy this game. Perhaps I'm just enjoying it for the fact it's a new game, and 3rd person though, and am unaware of the flaws and OP gods etc etc.

I really like the themes and artwork for each god and I dunno, seems like a nice game to play on the side here and there to take the stress away from other games such as dota2.

It brings it's own frustrations to the table, but I like it because it's straight forward and very different from LoL and Dota. If only I could find a group of people that don't go rage happy in this game I'd probably play more.

Was the matchmaking ever good?

I've been playing since closed beta and it's been really messy since then. I wouldn't mind waiting in queue for 5-10 minutes as long as I'm matched with people very close to my level (I'm pre 30 still cause I don't play much). Instead I get matched against level 30's with like 300+ wins and my team consist of a bunch of level 5-15's and we proceed to get shit stomped for 20 minutes. Not fun at all. LOL

yeah the matchmaking is lame. I have yet to encounter an utter stomping though, so I feel lucky.

So far, I really enjoy playing Bastet for jungle, and Chang'e for mid. Chang'e seems insanely strong if put in the right hands, especially if you're good at timing her evasive dance.

Ew. I just tried an Assualt mode game for the first time, and I can say it pretty much made me want to /wrists. Perhaps it's just me but if i was new to the MOBA scene this mode would turn me off big time.

I don't even play that game mode on LoL. No way in hell would I play it on smite unless I had 4 other friends to troll with.
I only really play Conquest, Arena and Joust, though the joust meta is kinda awful right now.

Assault is more like an: IDK what to play and I'm pretty tired mode...
Same for Joust 3v3 and Arena, just short games that don't need much strategie.

Conquest is masterrace. Solo and Support for the win!

The new League System looks promising, but needs fixing with players staying in their league for so long, lol. What I heared from the stream, you don't get to lower leagues when you don't play. And the whole system is quite a LoL/SC2 copy (Looking at that numbered Divisions like Bronze V and Master League, cough). And my MMR gets reset, must start in Bronze V q.q
Seasons are long as f"!ck (1 Year) and Rounds going 2 Months (the 2 Months pretty familiar...)

So you start at bronze V? That is kinda meh, but the system is already better than LoL because you don't have to do dozens of promotion matches as you climb.

I'll probably never play ranked matches in this game so it's a w/e for me. LOL

Many don't play ranked. I wouldn't too but casual Joust 1v1 is removed so there's no choice. Ranked before was a joke lol, you couldn't even fall down as long as you play enough. Best thing for people like Vastrakal that just play too much but aren't really good.

Osiris looks like something I could play more often, his kit ain't as boring as Kumbas. Generally there are only a few unique abilitys in this game, like Baka ult, so many champs are boring when laning because they feel so similar. Ao Kuangs 3 is nearly the same as Poseidons 3, Ra has also a really similar kit to Ao.
Nearly everything is in a line or circle and does the same...

Also, rooted abilitys are useless in a game that is so fastpaced in teamfights (except if you are tanky).

If someone likes ADC, you can write to me IG (LiiMO) if you want a support that isn't an instalocking Neith that builds Heartseeker and Med.

And Nemesis nerf feels weird (can't towerdive that easy anymore). But god thanks it happend.

Well, this is the problem when you have games that revolve around skillshots. You can only do so much with them and abilities become majorly homogenized. They need to add more interesting passives or creative ults. It's hard to pull this off in a game like Smite though because again, it all revolves around skillshots, and if you add easy to hit abilities with big damage or a stun or something, the game becomes harder to balance.

Really, the only reason I pick certain Gods over others, is because they look different, and I enjoy their theme more.

I got like lv 12 in Smite. Is a funny game. And when i get bored of League i go play some 3-4 hours of smite. I like Anubis and Hades very much. ^_^

I like that Smite has more game modes when compared to league and dota. Arena, Conquest, Joust, and Siege I will play a lot, while in league it's just summoners rift with the occasional aram. lol

More options the better. :)

3v3's in LoL is the epitome of unbalance which is why I will never touch that game mode again. Unless they bring back the old TT. Dominion is a failed version of Arena.

Can't really compare the 3v3 in smite with the one in LoL for a lot of reasons. xD

anything under 5v5 in any moba I've played is just a meh experience overall. 5v5 or bust.

Basically. In Smite 3v3 you pretty much run Siege mages (heavy pushers) and a tank, or you can run a different comp to outplay them. Safer to run the first one though.

In LoL for a very long time it was basically you run 3 bruisers or you lose.

Yeah lol. But some gods they release have an interesting kit. Like Scylla, her ult is really interesting and a skillshot. And the most passives in this game are quite meh... just to name a few: Ne Zha, Vulcan, Isis.
Nemesis Kit is interesting and very viable =/= Skillshots

1. Dash that is controllable
2. Slowing AOE skill having a big range for a melee god on 10 sec cd
3. Shield that you can't miss and can deal damage
4. Ult that you can't miss and gives you protections and speed, while stealing it from the enemy you ulted.

A few tank items and you are invulnerable.

Her whole kit is usable, every single ability, to save your ass and kill people...

Joust 1v1 is interesting: counterbuilding, you need to farm as much as you can, mechanically challenging. But it is hard to balance it properly, everybody picked OP stuff for this gamemode and just wrecked everything that made interesting picks (as example: every AA mage that is fast (Freya, Poseidon, Chronos, maybe Nu Wa now...) or Assassins/Warriors with good sustain and high CC kit. It was also the fast way to level up a smurf, so many newbies were scared of it after playing it a few times.

Ne Zha's old passive was very interesting, but it was broken as hell. People would just suicide in team fights (possibly killing someone) and auto win after that.

Old Passive - When Ne Zha dies, he becomes a lotus blossom with a large Area of Effect. This AoE grants 30 to both forms of protection in game, as well as healing them for 10% of his health every second for 6 seconds. ) 10% from 2000hp -> 200hps -> 1200 heal

Started playing this game today. First game against human players I went 37/7 as Neith.
It looks like it's much harder to close out a game once an inhib falls compared to League of Legends from what I've seen (well I only played 5 games but that's what I experienced). Most games took ~60 minutes, pretty crazy.
Also, this hydra bitch girl is fucking op.

It's the ambient gold mechanic combo'd with a lot of mages having great wave clear.. It's a whole hell of a lot higher than league so you would have to snowball really freakin hard to pub stomp people, but it does happen occasionally.

There are quite a few OP things in smite, but it's a different kind of OP than in league. Be glad you weren't around for the warrior nonsense that was pretty frustrating to play against.

The Warrior crap is still here, but not as bad as before. Tyr still heals as good as Aphrodite earyl on and deals as much damage as the hydra loli midgame/endgame if build right. To end a game, it is more likely that some players will just stand around on the map instead of grouping up and attacking. I realized that games on my smurf are way longer because people can't group up and just stand around and try to kill everything they see. As support you can't really do anything when this happens... I more felt after getting to 30 that some matches are insanely short, compared to league. But that may be because matchmaking OP.

It's a problematic class in other mobas too. They have never been balanced in LoL which resulted in a majority of them being (getting) reworked.
At this point it's just as bad as giving a hunter a bunch of damage and defense steroids and expecting it to be balanced.

My balance philosophy is you either deal damage or you don't.
Having a bunch of heals, defense steroids, and disruptions is fine and very beneficial to a team without bringing boat loads of damage to the table.

In Smite I think it's more of an issue with itemization than their kits alone.

Items in Smite are really a problem sometimes. Like most phys have shit damage items. Nothing compared to Poly from magical dmg, just shitty Hydras Lament... Why is it crap: It has low scaling in % basing on base damage stats that are low on phys compared to magical. Like it's normal to have ~600 magical dmg as a mage, but as assassin/adc you normally have around 300 or less. So why is the scaling so bad? that you can easy overtake it with a normal crit? I have no clue...

I have to say: there are some good bruiser items.
Also, there isn't not enough flat pen. Whenever somebody gets some armor and hasn't got a heal, buy Titan's Bane. When he has a heal (let's say, Chaac) you build Brawlers Beatstick. Magical pen is also quite meh. I feel like they also have bad Magical Protection Items: Stone of Gaia is retarded and only good early game if you want sustain. Pestilence just counters heals, it's OK in the sololane. And theres another really expensive item for flat magical dev., but expensive with a crap passive.

Also, short said, for physical gods there are a handfull of crit items where only Rage is viable due to price and other effects on it. Then, Hearthseeker is compared to other high dmg stacking items the only good early game because of the highest damage, having the least stacks and beeing the least expensive. Also, you rarely see a 3 stacking build (devo gauntlets, Transcendence, Hearthseeker) which gives you insane damage and sustain. Just because you are often still stacking at the 30 min mark (also, soo expensive and risky) and it doesn't gives you any attack speed.

They need to remove or lower the defensive stats on the void items first of all or buff titans to 40-50%.

Remember when you could stack like 50 flat penetration with 3 items super early in the game? I miss that because anyone who came across an assassin alone would instantly die.

To be honest, I havent been playing Smite that much the last few weeks but if I recall correctly it is pretty much the same as League of Legends. I remember there's a bit of variety though, at least more than in LoL.

Item builds are pretty straight forward. Honestly if you read up on the gods and items on their main site you will get a lot from that.
Smite is pretty easy mode to get into if you have played League previously.

Super Trash Tier: Loki, Arachne
Imo they are so bad, the pros troll with them and hover over them in tourneys just to get a laugh...

Bastet is kawaii, Scylla too, Tyr perfectly balanced, Vamana ain't OP, Nemesis the hardest and underpowered God, Zeus and Freya are the powerless mages and Ullr is useless due too his stun nerf. Also, Sun Wukong support is the hardest thing ever. Information according to HiRez if you consider Arachne the best jungler.

The normal meta is 1 champ does "toplane" which is in smite the sidelane with less distance between the towers (enemy and yours). The rest is pretty variable. You can do a 2 mid game and focus on farm and midharpies, or a double jungle meta and focus on farming the enemy jungle. Which only 2 mid is viable.

Siege is boring and you get Premades sometimes. If a team gets an advantage early on, it is pretty much set in stone who will win. There are nearly no comebacks, lategame teamcomps are totally useless. It is balanced as bad as Joust 1v1...

The Ah Muzen skin is pretty cool, but the VP is crap. You can't understand a word, and it sounds weird. Same for Chang'e Valentines VP.

It isn't that I don't like early game gods, I think jungle Arachne is really fun, since you can careless roam the enemy jungle. What I mean, they could just stop balancing when releasing modes that can't be balanced properly. The skin is amazing, the voicepack just no understandable in combat. I still use the skins everytime I play Chang'e or Ah Muzen because the skins are ^_^ --> "-".

What do you think about changing Fenrirs 2? Played him lately and realized that I never use the ability. I don't main him or have the biggest experience with him, so I want to ask you first... Maybe change it to a stun or mez, you could force beads and ult them afterwards or just attack them normally. That would maybe help him lategame too where brutalize falls a bit off and basic attacks get better.

I really don't see a problem with it as long as they do it right, otherwise those modes become less serious troll modes which makes people stop playing them all together. Honestly you really have no right to complain because similar games like League leaves things in a terrible spot both broken and underpowered for years (YEARS!!! I'm not joking about this). LOL. Smites balance has been spotty, but it's definitely been better than league has been the last couple of years.

Are they changing Fenrir??!! I still think he can be good if they just fix the damn bugs that kinda make him unplayable at certain points of the game. As for the 2 change I don't think giving a very mobile assassin 3 CC's is a good idea. Remember his 1 stuns at full rune stacks. If they did that I think they would have to shift him into more of a tank or warrior role while reducing his damage some. I would be fine with him being tankier because the big problem with Fenrir right now is that most of his abilities basically put him into a position to over commit to things. That's fine for an assassin because it gives clear counterplay but it really only benefits Fenrir if he is ahead of the enemy team, while when he is behind he is basically a split pusher or an ult bot that hopes they don't have beads available.

Lets take a look at his kit.

Passive -

I think it's perfectly fine how it is. All of his abilities are good without this effect already for the most part.


Unchained -1

This is a great ability for the early game, but it ends up transitioning into an escape ability late game because of how dangerous it is to use in team fights (unless you are winning). Still a great ability for catching people for 1v1's or initiating things when you have a clear advantage. Fenrir 1 stun followed by HoG stun + ulti is kinda stupid if you can pull it off.

Seething Howl - 2

This ability is incredibly binary and I wouldn't mind seeing it removed or put into his passive some how, but they would have to make him more of a warrior if they do this because this is what helps assassin Fenrir in his 1v1's when things are on CD. I used to just stack lifesteal and be unkillable until they nerfed a lot of things. You used to very easily get over 100% + lifesteal with this ability and a couple of other items before they changed a lot of items. LOL

Brutalize - 3

Pretty much what Fenrir is known for is his 3 spam. Very strong ability that has you commit to targets due to the stick + tick mechanic. Very strong ability that has clear weaknesses. I think this ability is fine where it is just needs the damn bugs fixed.

Ragnarok - Ultimate

Same as his 3 ability. Very strong with clear weaknesses. If anything has too much counterplay + it's kinda buggy (STILL).

TL;DR His kit is essentially fine for an assassin just needs some bug fixes, but I would be fine with him being more of a Warrior as opposed to an assassin mostly due to how he has to commit in team fights while be super squishy even with tank items.

Just thinking his 2 could get some tweakes, the rest of his kit is totally fine. Tbh, building him max CDR lets you get past the beads CD. The bug on his ult lets me look like a noob q.q
But they exist since his release right? just hoping it gets fixed. Main reason I don't play him more often. And nobody knows what HiRez does sometimes, but next patch should have many changes balance wise. Also, new Apollo skin is kind of awesome :D

The 3 bug is recent as in a couple months old. Main reason why I stopped playing Smite for the time being because it's really frustrating to deal with this. I've lost games because of this bug.

Ulti bug has been around for awhile. It was fixed for the longest time and then it came back worse than before after they made his Christmas skin.

After they fix his bugs (if) he might be decent. After that if he is still having trouble they should look into removing some of the enormous amount of counterplay on his ulti. It's not just beads that is his problem.

Something needed to be done about Warriors. They pretty much made Guardians a useless role while dealing a boat load of damage. From what I read nothing was really overnerfed which is good. :).

Odin with a slow on his 3 and high basedmg, an ult that fits for the mostpicked mages ultis (Poseidon and Zeus). Finally Nemesis got a bit more useless considering they lowered protections and health + nerfed retribution a few patches ago. The Patchnotes made me happy.

It more looked like he got outpicked and banned :( Even though Thanatos wasn't banned, the pick wouldn't be favorable because Odin ring, in generall Bastet mobility would stomp most of the open junglers. I guess Athena would have worked well, but idk with what he's comfortable. Also, the Teamcomp of Dignitas was just awesome with Odin, they were able to do so much with him. Pos Odin is disgusting, but Cupid, Hades AND Bastet added is even more scary.

Alright, ran into a new problem last night.

What is the best way to deal with Tyr on assassin Gods? I found that anytime he decided I was the one to die, by the time he was finished his combo juggle nonsense, I was at like 30% hp... Do beads prevent the knock up of his attacks? I got absolutely destroyed by him on Arachne, but she has no mobility so I'm not too surprised there, but I also got picked off quite easily on Bastet and Kali as well. Am I just bad? o.o

That's what I mean. Warriors are pretty much Guardians with Assassin tier Damage. Guardians are supposed to have a lot of disruptions through CC, but deal little to no damage while doing that. The changes in the next patch will force Warriors to choose damage or tankyness. They can't really have both anymore.

No reason to pick Fenrir when Warriors are how they currently are. What does Fenrir bring that they don't? After the nerfs to warriors and bug fixes I think Fenrir will be in a good spot.

Yeah, when I saw you in the lane, I knew something went terribly wrong at the God selection. I was being yelled at by Vulcan all game for not killing Ra enough, but it all worked out for us. Sorry about your loss =(.

Yeah it's really bad. So much afking and people who give up after they die once. MOBA's in general need to punish leaving games harsher than they currently do. I can't think of any ways off my head but surely there is a solution.

I really like the prisoner island type queue Dota 2 has or if someone is AFK long enough you can just leave with no penalty.
Last I heard you can't play ranked games if you fall under 50% goodwill, but they could have changed that by now. Ranked is more serious though and it would be nice if they had something similar in the normals like a special queue type you have to play a certain amount of games to get out of. Of course the amount of games would depend on how often you rage quit so people who have a random disconnect won't get punished too harshly if at all.

I have 30 DCs :/ no ragequits, 5 come from dodges in grab bag when getting an ADC (like, I get them all the time). Better for my team, actually. The other ones are crashes. HiRez report and support is a joke.
Had an Arachne today in Joust 3v3 that bought teleport to gods and meditation. Like PLEA GET ME OUT. Med ain't that bad (eye is bader lol), but it's like picking Hades Support when Wukong/Odin is open.

Also, Assault: reroll, got Kali. Yesh carry time, enemy Ares and Scylla get 4 kills before 2 min mark <.< Like some of my teammates didn't get over level 8 at the 10 min mark. Tyr is extremly annoying for Arachne, Bastet and Kali Since they have no form of CC immunity or will it have removed = Tyr can play volleyball with his fearless + cleave. Bakasura has way better potential to deal with Tyr, since he just cuts his Fearless Volley shit if u Beads and ult afterwards.
Tyrs Kit is 75% CC, the only part not doing CC is his 3 which gives him buffs and lets him apply even more CC. His passive gets especially stupid vs Mercury since you can't knock him up properly. He's OP in every gamestage. Just pray everytime he isn't in the enemy team.

Also PSA for Kali: get beads and/or magis blessing. Sprint isn't that important.

In joust I can understand why teleport to gods is bad, but in conquest it can be really good with certain comps. You can argue that you can ward properly, but that doesn't always happen well in solo queue.

They really need to lower the cost of the TP to gods item though. CD is justified for what it does. :)

Nu Wa lategame with teleport to gods/wards is just a pain: She can solo a phoenix really fast with minions + poly + towerdamaging abilitys and basic attack buffs and gets out really fast/can't be spottet by wards because of her "stealth".

I've won so many games from split pushing it isn't even funny anymore. My team gets so mad at me when I do it too, but they don't realize Fenrir is pretty much worthless in team fights if people are smart enough to buy beads.

Often instead of just backing off from our towers they send someone solo to defend against me and more than half the time it's one of their mages that I just one shot and continue to take towers or a pheonix. If they send a Warrior or a Guardian I just teleport to someone and force a fight. It's a pretty dumb strat to be honest. It works in League and Dota as well.

Global presence will always 100% be effective in these type of games. With that said I almost always run TP on Fenrir since he doesn't really need blink or sprint every game seeing as he has 3 escapes 2 of which are on a very short CD if you get CDR.

Adapting split pushing into Smite is wise. I find it strange that a lot of players prefer killing heroes over completing objectives, in any moba. I haven't watched a pro Smite match, but in dota2, the killcount is very low for the majority of matches these days. The players are so focused on objectives that big team fights are less preferable.

I think a lot of the new players (and low skilled) treat the game like a pvp arena where you just mindless kill each other over and over. It can work sometimes, but it will eventually get to the point people will just outplay you with objectives and get an exp and gold advantage.

Hm. I just read the patch notes they just added, and can say I'm quite pleased with them. Since I play mostly assassin role, I feel my impact in the mid-late game will be more noticeable. Really glad to see that Tyr got some nerfs, along with warriors in general.

I wonder how Janus will play out. He seems extremely useful but I shudder at the idea of someone bad playing him and putting portals in the worst of spots.

People will just go back to guardians like Ares and Ymir who can be really problematic for Assassins with their great CC. Difference is you won't die to them, but you probably won't kill them either unless you are like super mega fed.

IDK how to counterbuild, but to counter Hide of the Nemean Lion you have to get lifesteal and pen right?
Tried it out and it worked (Passive: Reflects 20% of all basic attack damage back to the attacker as magical damage). It also gives 80 Phys protection... and is cheap :(

Below is the match, it worked. But I kinda always beaded her stun and stunned her back, which was effective because her buff from the 3 ran out.

And first master is Peyan, Joust league. 171 wins and 18 losses (how to have no life). Conquest hasn't got a master :/

Hide of the Nemean Lion is primarily used to counter physical attackers so yes life steal is the best option for you (the attacker) to counter the reflect damage. Health and MR help too.

Hide feels like the best counter as physical vs a physical basic attacker. Got it once as Freya in a 1v1, he got magical dev and the bonus damage from it got useless...
Still, this item is not balanced for joust league... like people litteraly rush it when I play Kali. But since the last changes lifesteal got way better compared to Rage, and Devos gloves are more affordable so Hide looses its purpose. It still is good due too 80 phys protections and 300 health or something like that...

That's still very cost effective for the stats it gives and for that price not even including the passive.
Honestly I think a lot of the tank items in this game are way too good which was why I was kinda surprised they nerfed almost all the penetration items.

Matchmaking is just gg, Smite is the 19th most played game for pc counted by raptr, no excuses with small playerbase. When I get matched against HalfDevil at 2 am, ok. But jousting against people with 500 more elo and 2 leagues above me is just pointless. Why did they even make Joust ranked q.q

I didn't even know there was a long/short lane until someone pointed it out when I was like level 10.

Bigger games like dota 2 and LoL's MM can be just as horrid. Going to have to just deal with it.

I understand that MM is hard with 5 players per team. But in a 1v1... and since you can see the elo on player profiles and you see 2.4k elo and 400 wins at some of my opponents :/

Why is high mobility stuff so much fun? played a lot of Athena, Mercury and Neith lately. Athena solo is so much fun, you can ult the mid always when midharpies are up and get free exp without loosing exp in lane :D Also won a 3v1 with Neith because weave triple stun and under leveled enemy support and jungler. Agni is also quite fun. Almost got the 1000 games mark :D Played too much lately

There will be a new Xbalanque skin, with a recolor included (kinda like Redstar and Winter Olympian). Even if I don't like football, the ultimate is awesome! If I would have saw your post sooner I would have given you a key since I bought a bunch for friends. I think they were all claimed on facebook already. lol

I played a game that was a 4v5 and all the people on the enemy team was level 30 while everyone on my team was in a range from 5-24. Game somehow went to 65 minutes probably because they couldn't push against our comp (we had 3 mages, an assassin and a hunter). Enemy team threw because we caught 3 of them in a very bad position and killed them and pushed an won since they had like an 80 second death timer. LOL

In the end we didn't deserve to win that game because everyone was raging at each other, but apparently the Fenrir on the other team was pretty freakin toxic as well but w/e.
