When I press user options in multiplayer mode, the button returns back to normal, how to fix this?

also, what is mode-fruits, mode-mania, mode-osu and mode-taiko for?
I found it in a skin I downloaded a while back

I tried deleting the mode-x images and the playmodes are still the same, apparently the playmodes are from mode-x-med, not mode-x (I think)

Ah, now I remember why this happens. Was helping once with this error.

It's photoshop saving settings fault. Best you can do is to tweak some setting (are there any? Never had PS so I don't know D:) or just copy all elements over new file and try saving it again.

Thanks. Fixed it by resizing the border so it's at the corners.

I have a problem with making a skin

I made my own ranking letters 'ex. ranking-x'
And converted them to .png and croppped them to 350 x350 pixels

but for some reason everytime i try it out they bg of the ranking letters turns white instead of transpartent

I used photoshop and tried redoing this 5 times now but it keeps doing the same..

Help please :c

Make sure there isn't a white background in the actual file.

And save the file as a png at first. converting the image to a png is causing the white bg.

Is there any way to change font (not in-game font) in osu! ?
In taiko, I can change it by placing any font to a skin, and changes it to taiko.ttf

I tried using black numbers so I wouldn't see them, but because of it, I get some weird white parts :

make score-.png into 1x1 thing, and let default-.png as normal size

It seems like osu! add some white stuff around the numbers, I tried adding/deleting gray but it doesn't work, so I guess I'll just put 1x1 points, the result screen isn't important anyway.

I don't know if there is a way to do that, but I'm interested too. I don't want to reduce the size of my butterflies just so 2 of them will fit in the circle :[

earlier page said that, increase the HitCircleOverlap i think the value will fit as the image width

I had something weird when I'm using my last skin the images I made look like they have been cut out something by showing a white border around them and it kinda look like a mess
I didn't had this before and I used the same program to skin now
But I just don't like it anyway

I use photoshop CS6 to make my skins and on there they look fine without border but when i apply them to osu! they have a border around them sometimes

Anyone any tips how I can fix this?

Look like someone found before me satriobp.
If you're interested, I changed the value from 3 to 75, and it works perfectly.

PS : I had to go to option>skin and reselect the skin every time so the change would be taken into account, otherwise it would not work.

It seems similar to the problem I have with my numbers. There is nothing around them in photoshop, but then in game there are some white borders...

Have you found anything on it yet? I don't like it if it looks this way it looks like it's been done in 10 minutes while it took me a couple hours to create these things.

Well for the numbers, I thought I could fix it using some anti-aliasing, as the parts with the borders were the one that had no gray around the black. However, I only managed to make it worse....

Hmmmm there must be some way to get that border away I checked them again in PS and went over the whole border of the pictures and applied them again sadly enough it's still the same.
So it's not that it's me who just have facked up eyes I think

You might have misread it. These white artifacts were camouflaged with the white-grey checkered background. It's best to put a black background behind your working image, then remove that background after you've done. This is the method used to detect white artifacts.

In summary: Add a black background layer behind the layer you're working on, then remove that layer after you've done.

While oversizing the taiko-bar-left sprite beyond 181px in width, it seemed that it overlaps with the old spinner. I did this while testing with sprites.

Sorry for bothering you but I just can't understand why the result board looks like that:

With New Default Skin behaviour, the spinner elemeents are changed to spinner-top, spinner-bottom, spinner-middle, spinner-middle2, and spinner-glow

If you keep both of them, you can switch spinners by ticking off/on Prefer new default.

(I haven't tried this yet but I have doubts.)

erase all of the stuff you dont want in spinner-circle and erase the entire spinner-background

Im stuck at the ranking panel. In the Section for the ranking panel are some examples how it could look like.
I don't get how i can position the scores and everything else. For example MLGnom Skins:

Yup, Alice's skin is old and after widescreen/new skin update it have changed size and position. I would need to fix that for few resolutions. (16:9, 16:10, 4:3 etc.)

Just to shed some light on this change

All taiko note elements can now share a common 256px @2x height resolution to allow for a more sensible and easier skinning process to the end user...

(more changes to come)

Thanks but i would like to do this on my own. I'm just stuck at this for some time now because i didn't quite get what kind of resolutions i ca use for the ranking panel for example.

So if i have a resolution of 1920x1080 its 16:9 right? Soo to adjust the position and have it look like in your skin, i need to adjust the scorenumbers right?

Yes, so for 16:9 you need apply ranking panel of 1366x768 size. (or a little less, you will see that while testing)

As for ranking from Alice's skin, what is needed is to change canvas of picture from 1024x768 to 1366x768, crop Alice picture and move it to the right.
Probably you won't get correct position for the first time so I recommend to edit it, save into skin folder, select random replay to see how it's looks. If it's wrong position, correct it a little, save again then press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to reload skin anywhere is game and select again random replay to see if it's better.

Same for score, just try to fit it to ranking panel. (Position of total score has changed so in my skin whole ranking panel need to be corrected)

Hi, I have a small problem. That is, the spinner I've add to skin is not display itself. The default one is. Files, size of graphics are ok. I know that, becouse I got spinner entierly form other skin. So, what can be the problem?...

I have no idea what changing the number will do, and if that will actually even change my slider. How can I change my slider through the ini file, if I don't actually have any images for it to work with? I don't understand how this part of the file works, and would appreciate some help.

If I remember correctly, you won't see any changes to slider style if you are using OpenGL option. And what changing the number is doing you have in first post. :D

All you can do with slider opacity is changing it's style in skin.ini .

I've got a problem with my hitsounds, because my 'normal-hitnormal' sound is so quiet, when 'soft-hitnormal' sound is much, much louder. It happened after I replaced my hitsounds today, I don't know why. All I did was replacing the hitsound files, and it's not just this file's problem. I though that the file is just too quiet, but I replaced it with the other one and it's still the same, I mean soft-hitnormal is still much louder than normal-hitnormal. Could you please help me ? It's quite irritating when you're playing.

Mappers usually set the hitsounds volume (by percentage) on the beatmap itself, not on the hitsounds we're using so it depends there.

Unfortunately, you can't do anything about the wallpaper ingame than darkening it with background dim.
You can also just replace the background image from the folder of the beatmap to another image with the same format.

with home wallpaper, i guess you mean the startscreen?

You can only change this when you got osu! supporter
this must be in .jpg extension. You can easily change it by just dragging a picture and dropping it in main menu window,
it will create/replace menu-bacground in you current skin.
If you have created picture of size 1366x768, it will be cut from left side at lower width resolutions.

You will also see it in options, multiplayer lobby, multiplayer match background and osu!direct background.

and for the ranking panel

i don't really know much about that, but i know its all explained in the tutorial

comboburst images are all left based, so if you put some writings there it will be inverted when it appears from the right

For some reason,part of the life gauge overlaps with the lanes
and the left frame doesn't show properly.

Does this have something to do with the .ini files or is it simply because of the screen resolution?

that overlap is nothing to do with the .ini iirc.

I was wondering how you get a picture into your spinner (That doesn't move, just in the background) or picture into your playfield. I have set a picture on playfield, but it doesn't show, and on spinners the picture moves. The best thing would be to find out how I get a picture as a background on all maps! Im a beginner at skinning, so if you're a good skinner, please give me some tips or something ingame! :)

You should change the image file into spinner-background.png... and also 1024x692 resolution for best-fitting

for the spinner, there might be something wrong if spinner-background.png doesn't work
while for the background, playfield is just for beatmaps where they don't give pictures or videos
the only way to have a consistent background on EVERY SINGLE MAP is to go to options and set dim background to the max

Thank you for the dim background thing, I liked it darker in the background :) But do you have any idea of what I can do to get the spinner background as I please? I just want a constant picture all around, if you get me... :o

You should get the background you want and then change the image file into spinner-background.png
and also 1024x692 resolution for best-fitting for this

Downloading the template to start a skin, in osu!mania mode all seems like... Bad D: With the two templates is the same problem. Well, maybe I'm wrong, I've something configured badly and this just happens to me, in that case I'll appreciate the help :3 Thanks.
