If you keep both of them, you can switch spinners by ticking off/on Prefer new default.

(I haven't tried this yet but I have doubts.)

Ok guys its me again
Im stuck at the ranking panel. In the Section for the ranking panel are some examples how it could look like.
I don't get how i can position the scores and everything else. For example MLGnom Skins:

Yup, Alice's skin is old and after widescreen/new skin update it have changed size and position. I would need to fix that for few resolutions. (16:9, 16:10, 4:3 etc.)

Just to shed some light on this change

All taiko note elements can now share a common 256px @2x height resolution to allow for a more sensible and easier skinning process to the end user...

Thanks but i would like to do this on my own. I'm just stuck at this for some time now because i didn't quite get what kind of resolutions i ca use for the ranking panel for example.

Yes, so for 16:9 you need apply ranking panel of 1366x768 size. (or a little less, you will see that while testing)

As for ranking from Alice's skin, what is needed is to change canvas of picture from 1024x768 to 1366x768, crop Alice picture and move it to the right.
Probably you won't get correct position for the first time so I recommend to edit it, save into skin folder, select random replay to see how it's looks. If it's wrong position, correct it a little, save again then press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to reload skin anywhere is game and select again random replay to see if it's better.

Same for score, just try to fit it to ranking panel. (Position of total score has changed so in my skin whole ranking panel need to be corrected)

I have no idea what changing the number will do, and if that will actually even change my slider. How can I change my slider through the ini file, if I don't actually have any images for it to work with? I don't understand how this part of the file works, and would appreciate some help.

If I remember correctly, you won't see any changes to slider style if you are using OpenGL option. And what changing the number is doing you have in first post. :D

All you can do with slider opacity is changing it's style in skin.ini .

I've got a problem with my hitsounds, because my 'normal-hitnormal' sound is so quiet, when 'soft-hitnormal' sound is much, much louder. It happened after I replaced my hitsounds today, I don't know why. All I did was replacing the hitsound files, and it's not just this file's problem. I though that the file is just too quiet, but I replaced it with the other one and it's still the same, I mean soft-hitnormal is still much louder than normal-hitnormal. Could you please help me ? It's quite irritating when you're playing.

Mappers usually set the hitsounds volume (by percentage) on the beatmap itself, not on the hitsounds we're using so it depends there.

Unfortunately, you can't do anything about the wallpaper ingame than darkening it with background dim.
You can also just replace the background image from the folder of the beatmap to another image with the same format.

with home wallpaper, i guess you mean the startscreen?

You can only change this when you got osu! supporter
this must be in .jpg extension. You can easily change it by just dragging a picture and dropping it in main menu window,
it will create/replace menu-bacground in you current skin.
If you have created picture of size 1366x768, it will be cut from left side at lower width resolutions.

You will also see it in options, multiplayer lobby, multiplayer match background and osu!direct background.

and for the ranking panel

i don't really know much about that, but i know its all explained in the tutorial

comboburst images are all left based, so if you put some writings there it will be inverted when it appears from the right

I have set a picture on playfield, but it doesn't show, and on spinners the picture moves. The best thing would be to find out how I get a picture as a background on all maps! Im a beginner at skinning, so if you're a good skinner, please give me some tips or something ingame! :)

I have done this, but when the spinner approaches, there does not appear any image, everything is just normal as if I hadnt done anything :/ But oh well, I think like the black background I get from the max dim option :) Thanks tho! :D

Alright, so top left is the background I would like to have. Bottom left is my skin options (Think that's what you wanted to see..?) and top right is just to show you that it doesnt really work... ^^

Uncheck "Prefer new default skin behaviour" and make sure that you don't have "Version: 2" in skin.ini with is forcing new default skin behaviour.

Before you ask, old skin spinner is different from actual one and you can't have background with new one.

With your .ini the skin now looks much better, just the lines are very wide, but changing the BarelyWidth and ColumnLineWidth's value from 0.7 to 1 and everything is solved. Thank you so much ~

Hey got a problem. I have the game set to my native resolution (1920x1200) and so I was making pause, fail and menu backgrounds in the same resolution. Fail background seems perfect but both pause overlay and background menu seem to be "zoomed in" as if the resolution doesn't fit. just try resizing them. reselect the skin, and check..

Also, got another question. I want to make my own spinner meter, in a similar fashion to those girl silhouettes "charging up" one bar at a time. Do I just make a png of whatever silhouette I want, put those charge bars in there and the game will know what to do with it or is it more complicated?

HD resolution only works for resolution above 1024*768...
To create A HD Skin Component... You can re-size the picture 2x than the original and name it "____@2x.png" (It's best if you create the HD skin component first and then re-size it to a half for the SD version)

Is playfield being removed? Mine was not used either in JPG or PNG formats.
I tried old and new behaviours and still the same. :/

playfield is mostly used for old maps that don't have a background video or image

I know that. That's why I was wondering why it wasn't used when I played on maps with no background images...

I have Yoko Ishida - paraparaMAX I and played it with HT (HalfTime). playfield is still there. (even if you toggled on "Disable Storyboard" for this)

when pressed "Random Map" or F2 in the Mod-selection

If there's something that breaks this / weirder than this, You know what to do.

Yeah, I just found out today that the new skin behaviour was not using the playfield.

When i was playing osu! mania i noticed that whenever there were the notes you have to hold it would change the outline or the color of my combo counter to yellow. I thought maybe it was just for the skin i was using but it was for all of them and i can't find any way to change that color. Does anyone have any ideas on what that is and how I could change it?

go to any xK.ini file (where x is the # of columns) and add:
ColourHold: red value,green value,blue value,opacity value

eg.
ColourHold: 136,0,200,200

This might seem a bit lazy, but I'm not exactly prepared to read through over a hundred pages of content to find the answer for this question:
Is it possible to have the cursor (not cursor trail) cycle through multiple colors? I tried using a cursor-1, cursor-2, etc. system to do it, but it doesn't appear to work.

I can't get my spinner-circle to show up when I use my skin, but when I compressed it and sent it to someone else, it shows up to them just fine. I checked all m settings and they seem normal. How do I fix this?

Uncheck "Prefer new default skin behaviour" in options and make sure that you don't have "Version:2" line in skin.ini.

in my skin (that I use) they are really hard to see >.< but I don't know how to change that
