Yes, I drew it with a tablet and ty~

Any idea for legs? I did not draw them, but I was thinking knee-high boots, with a buckle design on the foot part of the boot with a rhythm panel on the top of it. I didn't draw it primarily because I fucking SUCK at drawing non-stylized feet.

The hand (front) only looks like a hand front because I spent like 20 minutes on that alone (I'm also terrible with hands but that one turned out alright after enough redrawing) but feet oh lord.

My friend drew my old roleplaying char and made this kick ass avatar, it'd be a good idea for him to be one of the encourgers. Or mascot, I don't really care...

Oh shit I totally missed out on the request for accessories:

How about a slider for a belt or sash or scarf or something? Head/hair accessories would also be nice; it looks a little plain atm

While the osu buttons are a nice touch, I think they're too small and subtle. I think it'd be better to replace them with something that'd be visible during gameplay, like a big pendant or something similar.

A pendant/necklace of the osu button sounds like a good idea, but remember we can't go overboard with osu buttons.

Also to expand on that thinking, leave the "osu!" off the button in my opinion - I imagine it'd look REALLY tacky.

GAAAH. I'm trying to find a good renderer for the mascot, and thought I'd settle with FinalToon. But I can't find the SP1 version anywhere(Found one link, but NOD32 reported it as a virus). I don't want it to look like a 3D model... ;__;

I think the model needs a bit more Curves on the torso(thinning near the waist area).

The general anatomy feels a bit off. I think it would be really beneficial if you used references a la nude models (and let's keep it serious in this thread) as well as human skeletons. ALSO YOUR HANDS LOOK PRETTY DAMN GOOD APART FROM THE THUMB BEING TOO PULLED BACK/SMALL MAYBE. Proportions feel good but the torso is far too flat.

Also breasts are too high up; collarbones, anyone?

They used to be lower - loginer listened to someone's advice and moved them up I think... they were more in-place before :/.

Lowered the breasts, increased the thumb size, and made the body a bit more curvy. Here's a picture.

Also, awesome renderer is awesome.

I don't think Lolginer actually needs a rendered image (right?), just basically an inked outline similar to what you were doing in your previous image. Just so we don't get the wrong idea and use up unnecessary energy.

On that note, I myself would still like to see a rendered image =3

Yeah, it's just that when you're drawing for a model you have to make absolutely sure that the proportions are the same down to the finest details in both directions, otherwise problems start cropping up for the modeler. It takes a bit, which is why I'm waiting ^_^;;

SOooo I drew up some character concepts but wanted to know what you guys thought before I proceeded, this is far from done but . Their outfits are very reminiscent of cheer outfits used in Japanese/Korean school. They are currently nameless but I like the name "Asami" for the female. Just throwin' this out there~ :)

Anywayz, here's a pic I drew in MS Paint for an MMO idea sometime back. Ignore the first two, but the third character was to be used as the example character for the Cheerleaders Club, she is also a character of mine that I have used in other projects.

@Sarumaru: Love the male design. Fucking awesome, seriously. The female designs feel a bit standard to me, though - the second one posted, that is. First one I'm kind of on the line with. I don't exactly like the long hair, but other than that, I like some elements of the design. The legs, specifically. Granted they're pretty awesome pictures and rather pleasing to the eye, so bonus for posting them anyway~

I like Moom's a bit as well (yeah the face feels a bit strange - it's probably the nose, not that it matters from a DESIGN standpoint) but the waist without any sort of tail-end to flail and flow with dance moves makes me sad =( I liked that part of it.

The skirt is a good length though. I think it's important for the outfits to be designed with flow in mind. Knee-length skirts are a good way of accomplishing this, for example =3

Thanks awp! Speaking of which, here's another image that I drew which is -loosely- based on awp's idea (When I drew the first two chars, I did not bother reading through the thread). It's is a very rough sketch but you get the idea.

I like this new design, Sarumaru. I like the legwarmers in theory, but I can't help but think they make her look more like a Gundam, lol. I do like that we now seem to have some decent artists and I like that the designs are starting to converge into a solid idea. Keep tennis-ing the design back and forth until we all agree on something, that's what I say :)

Three things I "dislike" about this new draft:
-Actually writing "osu" on the circles looks a little tacky imo
-Skirt could do to be a BIT longer, almost to the knees?
-Face looks a little too serious/sure of herself/experienced?

It is pretty awesome though~

Love the leg-warmers as I said earlier, though they do look a bit exaggerated/big.

I agree with the "osu" one but I think skirt and face are fine. Imo her arms and legs could be more thin though :P

That is looking quite nice. The cartoon shader feels a bit overdone to me though...is it possible for the effects to be milder, so the model doesn't look as flat? I almost prefer the top-screen version.

Most JPop is sung by female vocalists I guess

plus osu! is inherently pink and a guy wearing pink, well, not something the fanbase wants to see dancing around.

Agreed on the skirt being fine, but the arms and legs shouldn't go any thinner, else she'll start looking too skinny.
The anatomy will look fake if they get thin. ;o;
