hey. taken from #modreqs
[General]
- the offset is late. after trying with a few different offsets, i found that 8555 (-10) was accurate.
- here's a tip for furture mapsets: place NCs on large white ticks for the most part. your NC pattern seems to be inconsistent in a lot of spots, and it seems generally better to add the NCs at the long white ticks since it emphasizes the beginning of a stanza.
- it would be a better idea to end the kiai time at 01:48:963 since the chorus is still going on when you end it.
- in both difficulties, i think it would be a really cool effect if you slowly increased the volume of the last spinner and suddenly silenced it at the end to match the vocals
(example). you didn't do anything with the spinner in the Alone difficulty, but in the With You! difficulty you made the volume slowly fall, which I think is inaccurate because the vocals are actually getting louder at that point.
[Alone]
00:14:065 (1) - a whistle at the end of this slider rather than on the repeat of it sounds better and also follows the hitsound pattern you established in the past few objects (a whistle every other white tick).
00:39:779 (5) - place a circle here. the gap of time between 00:38:861 (4) and 00:40:391 (1) seems a bit too long and slightly out of place.
01:05:799 (1) - this spinner here doesn't fit very well. normally, i would suggest to move it forward by two ticks and shorten it, but then the spinner would be too short for a difficulty like this. the best solution would be to map this part out instead
01:22:636 (6) - bring the end of this slider up slightly so it looks like it curves into the next slider more smoothly, like
this.01:46:514 (4,1) - the gap of time between this slider and circle and feels really awkward. adding a circle at 01:47:738 (5) fits well and should easily solve the problem~
[With You!]
00:23:248 (4) - shouldn't there be a whistle at the end of this? it sounds better.
00:37:330 (5) - the hitsounds on this slider feel bland. i think it would be better to stick to what you were doing previously and at a clap to the beginning of it and a normal sampleset to the end of it.
00:52:636 (6) - normal sampleset would sound better here. i don't know why you did something else.
01:04:881 (2) - ^
01:26:616 (3,1) - the gap between these two objects is really long and feels awkward. i'm sure you were trying to create a cool effect, but it doesn't feel like that to me.
02:00:901 (1,2) - this doesn't follow the vocals or the background music very well. i suggest following the vocals in this case closely by using a semi-stream like
this.02:02:738 (1,2) - same as above.
in this difficulty, i feel that the hitsound pattern, especially in the beginning, was inconsistent. for example, there were whistles in place of normal hits and vice versa. also, i think that the random stream triplets are very weird and unnecessary to the map as they don't follow anything in the music. i would advise deleting them (except where it's actually in the music very rarely). that's all for now; good luck.
