Did some changes and started to practice mouse-only today so

1. What is your Windows mouse pointer speed? 6/11
2. What is your osu!'s mouse sensitivity? 1.0x
3. Did you enable the "Precision Mode" in osu! ? No
4. What is the DPI of your mouse? (or what DPI you are using when playing?) http://puu.sh/GW1R (previously 800dpi)

7. Do you prefer fullscreen or windowed mode? Windowed (previously Fullscreen)
8. How do you hold/grip your mouse? Palm (previously inbetween palm and claw)
9. What is your mousepad? (or where do you place your mouse?) SteelSeries QcK+
10. What are your problems/issues while you're playing? (e.g can't spin well, that jumps, streams...) Still streams but getting better at it, and accuracy. New problem is that my mouse tends to hit the keyboard which is just next to my mousepad while playing and getting used to moving my whole arm with this new sensitivity.

since I changed my playstyle from tablet to mouse only

1. pointer speed: 6/11
2. mouse sensivity: 0,9x
3. Precision: yes
4. dpi: 1800 dpi
5. Mouse: Razer DeathAdder
6. resolution: 1440x900 (Native)
7. fullscreen or windowed?: Fullscreen ( it's very lag to play in wondowed)
8. Grip: Palm grip
9. Mousepad: Razer Goliathus speed
10. Issues: long and fast streams

i've been playing mouse only since Frizz925 told me to use these setting and i love it :) (also he told me this setting is some kind artificial 450-500dpi) my skin of choice is kriers' skin, TaNa's or mix of TaNa's & kriers' (lol)
and now my tablet is only used for drawing ;_;

1. 6/11, "Enhance pointer precision" is disabled (this setting gives me a 1:1 mouse movement)

9. A cheap stereotype mousepad, there's a wrist pad on it, but i don't use it
10. Mouse: Thou shalt not pass!, yep, small cheap mouse is my problem when playing, sometimes it make me miss a jump, not sliding properly when streaming etc.

I'm currently saving money to buy Elephant Dragunov or Razer Abyssus if i can. I just need a better mouse.

4. What is the DPI of your mouse? (or what DPI you are using when playing?): I could not figure this out. But for sure it's a pretty low DPI (with Windows max speed the cursor moves a bit slowly, compared to other mouses I had)
5. What kind of mouse you are using? Emachines Ps/2 Optical Mouse (Nothing special)
6. What is your osu!'s screen resolution? 1336x768
7. Do you prefer fullscreen or windowed mode? Fullscreen, but I find the spinners easier in windowed mode :o
8. How do you hold/grip your mouse? Huh.. One finger in each side, one finger in each button, and one finger in the wheel xD (anyway I don't use the mouse buttons)
9. What is your mousepad? (or where do you place your mouse?): In a scribbled paper (It's better than the osu! mousepad)
10. What are your problems/issues while you're playing? (e.g can't spin well, that jumps, streams...): Maybe I have a bit of trouble with the spinners, but generally I play very well with this settings.

9. What is your mousepad? (or where do you place your mouse?) Razer Goliathus, I put my elbow on the desk the mouse is a forearms length away

It was an old feature which is now removed and it's now forced enabled which means it's always on.

1. My windows pointer speed is 7 out of 11. However, I did use the MarkC mouse fix which removes ALL mouse acceleration, EVERYWHERE. Really helps a ton.

3. What's precision mode? I keep hearing stuff about "dimming" and precision, but I could not find these anywhere.
4. Not sure.
5. A basic run-of-the-mill Logitech mouse.

8. Like a normal person. I place my hand on the mouse, my pointer finger on LMB and my middle and ring fingers on RMB.
9. No mousepad right now.
10. I have major problems with spinning, and I can usually just barely complete a spinner.

the other problems are just timing issues (for streams, cause I just mash) or just getting used to reading high bpm+high AR songs

lol I was thinking about this just the other day! Trouble is I'll have to find an old trackball mouse so I can just removed the ball and use it for clicking. I've tried to fix another mouse to the table using blue tag but it still moves and interferes with my cursor movement.

So I just discovered something: The Razer DeathAdder 3G and 3.5G mice have acceleration issues unless they're set to 1800dpi and 125Hz (even though the 3.5G goes up to 3500dpi/1000Hz). And it's too high for me, so I'm SOL. :(
EDIT: Thought I discovered something about Windows pointer speed, but I guess I was wrong. 6/11 it is then.

That's not true, update your drivers and firmware, Synapse doesn't have acceleration problems

That's not true, update your drivers and firmware, Synapse doesn't have acceleration problems
It's not an issue with Synapse, it's the mouse itself. The 3500 model has a negative acceleration issue at anything other than 1800. I've seen several complaints about it, and done a lot of tests on it (as in, I didn't play osu! seriously for more than 2 weeks after getting the mouse because I was adjusting settings), and it's definitely there. They fixed it on the new 6400 model, but I don't really want to spend money on that one so soon after getting this one.
BTW, I picked up a 2001 Microsoft mouse for free recently, and it's more precise than my DeathAdder at 400dpi.

If you really think I'm lying, set your DeathAdder to 400dpi and go into MSpaint. Draw large circles with the mouse without lifting, and try to follow the same path each time. The mouse will slowly physically shift forward and left as you draw, even if you're being accurate on-screen. If there wasn't any acceleration, then the mouse shouldn't move away at all.

ALWAYS have your windows pointer speed(type mouse in run) at the third level(7/10)
Thisway it will not skip any dots. Believe me, even if it's is too fast or too slow, you have to do this. Also, uncheck that thing underneeth the slider. Thats garbage and only makes everything harder. These are all tips that will improve EVERYONES skill, believe me.
If you find it too slow or too fast at the standartsetting, try to find an altarnative to change the sensitivity, jsut dont touch the windows mouse slider, let it be on standard

Also, beatmaps that include many stacked notes, especially if the background is animated and colorful. You basically have to remember when the stacked notes appear as it's almost impossible to see the circle around them.

I used to play with mouse only for the first one and a half years (400dpi, otherwise same settings), after which I had a huge break. I felt like I could never get back to the level I was before so after 5 or so months I gave up (on that oh so frustrating streaming) and started to use the keyboard. I've gradually started to play with mouse clicks more often and find much more pleasure in that now that I've achieved the level I was looking up towards when I started playing.

1. 7/11 windows cursor speed
2. x1 osu!speed
4. 800dpi
5. Logitech MX518/G400
6. 1240x1024 windowed
8. I use a variety of grips on different styles of maps, and these things I consider a secret of the trade. I had fun discovering them and so should you.
9. Razer Sphex is the mousepad. I've come accustomed to using my arm as a pivot and even though I have experimented again on using no pivot at all, I believe it requires a much lower sensitivity.

10. What are your problems/issues while you're playing? (e.g can't spin well, that jumps, streams...)
This is a hard one... The ability to unconsciously avoid frustration so I can't retry? To get real though, most of my problems are related to reading and how to correctly apply it to my grip. Past CS5 streams still get extremely tough. With the experience I've gained now adjusting and learning has become much faster so I'm not too worried about that.

I should've really kept a osu!diary of progress or something, fun times has been had.

Hard to chain 5note or longer streams with singles or sliders or jumps. Vertical Cross screen jumps are a lot more awkward than horizontal ones, i think.

It's so small which makes holding/gripping it after spinners is somewhat uncomfortable. Sometimes my arm tenses up and holding it just becomes awkward. I've grown to get used to it over these 3-4 years but i would still prefer any other mouse if i could afford one :P Hopefully i can get a somewhat decent mouse this holiday season.


TL;DR: This mouse sucks. Very durable and reliable but it sucks for games.

It might take a while to get used to it, but it's definitely worth it.

Also, I'd recommend switching to 6/11 in Windows and adjusting your DPI accordingly. Anything lower than 6/11 just makes Windows ignore mouse reports. By using 4/11, you're effectively cutting your polling rate in half.
