I looked at the replay of Deja Vu. It seems as if he played the match without DT then replayed it with a bot at twice the speed. That's probably how he got 477 spins and had some human-looking movements in places (see small repeating sliders).

Looking at the replay to Flyin' To Your Soul seems to result in a similar conclusion: he played with Half-Time then replayed at twice the speed to play normal time. Again, spinners are pretty fast (except the end, where he spun less than 200 on half-time =S).

The notes are very close there. Border of Death has some jumps and things which could easily be missed. It also has more sliders which you can't read in FL.

Anyone should be able to S any song on FL if they can do it without FL. FL doesn't increase the difficulty like Hardrock or DT. All it requires is a good memory and a lot of plays. Some players will memorize a map faster than others, but if you play something enough, you'll be able to FL it.

The bits at the beginning are "spinners" in normal osu mode, which translates to "fruit spam" in CtB mode. you don't need to catch all the fruits to clear it or get 100%, they're just bonus. If you watch your own replay, you didn't catch them all either.

Not sure how first place guy has a higher combo, but I'd guess it has to do with his score being from 2008. I'll look into it

No, no, I know about spinners. It's right after the spinners, it's this long slider that goes back and forward, where everyone just grabs the fruits on the right side.

Quite a few Catch the Beat replays, especially older ones, show incorrect plays (including my own). Csisko's Post and Oblivion have bugged/outdated scores up the top though, max combos that aren't possible.

The current #2Marisa score is kind of... bugged, when the new build was released... I dunno why it happened, but the case then seems that the replay shows a miss in between the slider spams, when in the actual play it wasn't...

I broke the combo only at the end, but the replay shows a miss in a slider spam that didn't show before (so the same case as your marisa's replay).
I remember since i watched it sometimes, so i think it's a little bug in the new build.

I don't understand how the #1 score on Devil's Daughter [Easy] (http://osu.ppy.sh/b/19639) can be achieved. It has no mods (the ones below have hard mode etc.) and doesn't get SS rank yet somehow manages to get 30k ahead of the #2 score. Am I missing something?

For Cruel Angel's Thesis easy mode Spirus' (#3 in ranking) score just doesn't seem to add up at all he only has hard rock, hidden, and double time on and yet he got around 115k+. I would understand if his spins were godly like Tormenter's but his spins were a 5k and a 2k and he had 2 100s if I remember correctly and yet his score is above most people who SSed and had much higher scoring mods and spins than him.

I know that the score is 'Possible' but if you actually take a look at the replay. You can clearly see that the technique used to spin is totally Non-Human. Even though the score is plausible, The method used is unfair and untrue.

EDIT: I just took a look at it again and i'm 99.9% sure its not a hand made spin. Look at how the cursor reacts in the center of the spinner. It makes a very fast Triangular pattern which to me seems automated.

I have been playing the Taiko mod for Osu! and I don't understand how the scoring actually works. I say this because I constantly get higher percentages and such but I end up have a lower ranking on most songs. This unfortunately leaves me confused.

For example, I'm playing the Osu! beatmap for "Welcome to the N.H.K (Shishido Rumi) - Fushigi Purupuru Pururin Rin!" on the Puru~ difficulty on the Taiko mode. I just recently received 100% accuracy on this song but I find I am only ranked 12th with 122,982 points. While, the first place person, Seshiri, has an accuracy of 86.67% and a score of 190,068 points. No mods of any kind have been used, I checked. This is rather confusing.

Another thing I don't understand is the replays you can watch from other ranking people. On the same song, same difficulty, same everything, I watch Seshiri's 1st place replay of ""Welcome to the N.H.K (Shishido Rumi) - Fushigi Purupuru Pururin Rin!". I watch until the end of the replay and right before the screen fades to the results screen his score is: ~100,200 points. But then at the results screen his score is magically 190,608 points. This is a problem and should be reported in this thread (as you have done).

If it is wrong and a problem with the game, then I have another problem to report.

On the taiko map for the beatmap "IIDX (DJ YOSHITAKA) - Bloody Tears(IIDX EDITION) on the Normal difficulty, the #1 ranked player, Arvoitusmies has an accuracy of 88.55% but a score of 615,060 when the next lowest score is 345,876 points.

I watched the replay and at the end of the replay before fading, his score is ~ 161,540 but when the results screen appears, his score is magically 615,060 points.

While, the first place person, Seshiri, has an accuracy of 86.67% and a score of 190,068 points

This is an old replay from a time where the taiko drumrolls didn't have any restrictions yet.
That's why the scores were much higher and why you see malfunctioning replays.
All of these old scores will be reset when taiko is completely fixed.
In the meantime:

It's currently best not to post taiko-related scores on this topic until the scores are reset, unless you are really positive that the play was macro'd.

Hard rock on a song that already has a really high "overall difficulty" setting (so hard rock is setting it to the maximum) from a user that's only been registered for 20 days.

His stats/scores on maps other than this one are less than stellar.

Speaking of which, how is cheaters going to be caught on the Taiko mode?

It seems to me like there will be no real telltale signs, unlike the osu! standard mode.

A Complicated Song [Easy] has quite a few plays with a max combo of 257 instead of 255, and replaying the replays does indeed confirm they should get 255. Fruits mode is illuminating; while the max combo numbers are instead 255 and 253, you can see that the 255 have two large fruit drops (or slider ticks) that don't exist in the other ones. These only exist in the score readout, not in the actual replays. Perhaps this song got updated with a change when it wasn't supposed to or something?

That score was set more than a year ago. When was the old spinner algorithm replaced? The spins could have counted more than it does on the replay. Also the combo was broke on a slider...I have a few replays where it shows that I break a combo on a slider, but when I played it originally the combo was never broke. Might be the same.

Speaking of Dodgy though...Look at the #2 on that difficulty. FML if that's a natural spin. Definitely using some program or macro or something to spin :/

I don't think you understand what macros do.

He just needs one good run, record it as a macro, then add Hidden and Flashlight then run the macro since clicking does not change with these mods.

Me and Takuma and Megaman were just speccing him play that map he took #1 from Cyclone on, he used Hard Rock ONLY. Not even half an hour later he gets that #1 score with 3 mods. Spun-out, really? I bet if we randomly popped in to spec then we'd find his skill to be quite different ~_~

It's just like one_love where he used Hard Rock to get #1 on Candy man, it's not humanly possible really and he was dumb enough to do it, this is just less obvious.

Those videos aren't live, they're based on replays and shows nothing because unlike Cyclone he's an unproven player with a very low rank and accuracy to show. As well, even if he did record his hands and osu in game screen on a replay how would we know he didn't use a macro? Just look at his profile:

Even if he did make a "live" video it's still easily editable, I will not believe he's legit until I see him play in person because the speed at which he gets Flashlight/Hidden #1s on hard maps is quite impossible. Not 100% impossible, but for a very unknown player, yeah I'll take my chances that his scores are macro'd.

Why don't you try getting any player to Hidden + Flashlight SS/S on Under the Sky Another and Over the Future Hard in 200 or whatever number of plays? I'd like to see that very much if you want to show me that it's doable.

Like I said he can add Flashlight and Hidden once he gets a good enough (in his definition) full combo run because it's recorded and Hidden/Flashlight doesn't change how he has to move/click. So many of his scores support this and when he overtook Cyclone's #1 on Moun, that certainly was the case.

Best way would be to just compare his Hard Rock replay (the play he used to macro Hidden and Flashlight on, so his most recent S before SH) against his HardRock Flashlight Hidden replay, bet you they have the same accuracy and everything, lulz. Pay attention to this and you will easily catch him. It's not he's trying to hide his macros so just pay attention. If you spec him though he probably won't be stupid enough to do this, I know when we spec'd him with Takuma he waited til no one was speccing to add Flashlight and Hidden and instantly overtook Cyclone's #1, that was epic lulz.

Ok I had 10x 100s and I didnt hit many big notes (When you use 2 fingers) But the player in front of me had 58x 100s? and got 40k+ more score than me, even if he hit all the you use 2 finger notes I dont think he would be ahead of me with my acc of 98.96%. Oh and Zekira's score raped mine cause obviously he hit all the you use 2 finger notes and only had 10x 100s, looked like he missed the last 2 notes. But even if my math proves me wrong I still declare BS, and This player does not hack im sure I have played him in Multiplayer.
