Alright, I've played through all the difficulties except Another which I played with Nofail because of how confusing it is. I'll get back to it later.

Red text is unrankable.
Bold I heavily recommend changing.
Underlined I recommend changing.

-That background is NSFW, I don't think it's good to keep it because of how gory it is.
-There is a HUGE difficulty gap between Normal and Hyper. I know it's common in IIDX adapted beatmaps, but still.
-Please change that white combo color.

Apparently this is a guest difficulty, but I would suggest to compress the streams at least as much as they are on the Another, because the streams are actually harder than on the Another (and I'd like to remind you, you shouldn't normally use streams on hard difficulties, especially with such a bpm)

The rest of the map is way too confusing and/or difficult for me to actually be able to mod correctly, but all and all this is not really fun to play. The constant stacks and overlaps make it insanely hard to sightread with the standard skin and the white combo color doesn't help it.


So all and all I'm pretty disappointed with this beatmap since I love the song, I hope changes will be made to make it more fun and readable. Maybe you'll get my star then.

So I've played all the difficulties after you did some changes and I can clear the Another for once, but I'm also very happy with the combo colors which make the map WAY more readable.

  1. Only Hyper and Another have white colored circles. Remove that color, it blends in with the background.
  2. Kiai times are inconsistent with the difficulties. Extend it to the end of the spinner in Hyper and Another.
    Pictures 01 through 04 have a lot of unnecessary white space in them. If cropped down, it would save 21 kb of file size (which isn't very much)

    Everything else checks out.

  1. Large and spaced out streams don't fit this difficulty, they're harder than Another's! Avoid having streams over three hitcircles in length for this difficulty.
  2. 00:13:916 (3) - Remove this circle. Having a 1/4 stream before any 1/2 in the map doesn't curve difficulty well.
  3. 00:19:999 (1,2,3,4) - Push these closer together so it's clear that they are not a stream.
  4. 00:23:999 (1) - Move this circle in between the previous slider and the next circle. Keeps the flow going :D
  5. 00:30:666 (1,2,3,4) - Push these closer together so it's clear that they are not a stream.
  6. 00:52:166 (2,3,4) - Push these closer together so it's clear that they are not a stream.
  7. 00:54:333 (7) - New combo

  1. The epilepsy warning gets in the way of the notes at the beginning. It would be a good idea to disable the warning and storyboard one in so it isn't blocking anything.
  2. HP Drain +1 and OD +1 , it's too forgiving right now.
  3. Slider velocity 1.4 would be nice. It's quite tough to read the random DK streams with a fast velocity :(

    Ozzy would be proud.

I like the green. The combo colors that center around red suggest blood anyway, and they don't blend in with the BG.

It's really good, I like it. Good mapped.

But rename the Taiko diff. to "Backfire's Taiko Oni". You can't call it "Inner" if there is not another Taiko Oni allready.
Taiko Oni = Taiko Oni Inner = Taiko Oni Ura
"Inner" and "Ura" are just replacing the numbers 2 and 3, to have not names in a mappack like: "Taiko Oni, Taiko Oni2, Taiko Oni3"
It dosen't mean it's harder as "Taiko Oni".

So change that please.

The offset feels a bit aggressive to keep up with. Try +10 ms and see if it plays better.

Black.png needs to be cut off @ 40999 ms / 00:44:905 to reduce the SB load since it's not doing anything at this point and it's peaking at x4 at some places.

00:07:999 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15) - Ever tried doing this stream using normal hitsounds without the finish? (using 50% volume). If you still plan to keep it as is, try removing the finishes since they seem to stand out here.


The strong flashes aren't that bad till you start to play the harder difficulties where focus is more important. It's possible to reduce the strength of the flash by either adding transparency to the image itself, or using some transparency from the SB system. Not a lot of it, but enough to still make the flash decent at the same time, not blinding to play with.

I think I may have spotted a few unrankable things so I will just point those out along with a few suggestions while not doing my traditional mod

Beginner:
01:14:676 (1,2) - I suggest you delete slider 1, copy paste slider 2 into slider 1s original position and then do a ctrl + r on that slider. it will make things symmetrical now.

Another:
00:17:343 (1,2,3) - the 300s from slider 1 and note 2 cover up the kick back part of slider 3. please spread these apart.
01:17:843 (2,3,4,5) - same situation as the above except 300s are covering the kick back part of slider 5. please fix this.
01:33:509 (2,3,4,5,6) - same situation as above except the 300s are covering the kick back part of slider 6

Storyboard:
In both of the taikos, the first set of japanese characters is covered up by the taiko gameplay part so i suggest you move that text down so people can see it. do it through difficultie specific obviously

The only red i see is the Blood & the Rose and the rest is Black & Gray, i was using the colors that the song was used in the game (white had to be changed due the flashes) any other color will just make it.... really ugly. and thanks for that 4th gray there, i must've missed it there :)

For the sake of playablity - change these combo colors. I guess you don't want everyone that plays the map to delete all the custom elements after the first play just because they can see nothing. I know it fits, but still there is enough other colors that might fit it same good without harming the gameplay.

I haven't done a recheck yet, but if you do not wish to alter Faust's map, you may want to consider adding one to go between the Normal and his map difficulty-wise. Right now I don't feel comfortable pushing this forward as it is, sorry.

generaly speaking this is a powerful song, so i perfer the map which can feel the power when playing it. for this reason i think yours does better than the ranked one. good luck on ranking it

    1. The tags are inconsistent between difficulties. I believe that "Nimura" should be changed for "Nishimura" in Backfire's Taiko.
    2. You could remove the ":" from "Dracula X:", I suppose.

    1. The epilepsy warning is not displayed in Backfire's Taiko, you should activate it there since it's activated in all the other difficulties!
  3. Kiai
    1. Kiais are unsnapped in Backfire's Taiko (by 10 ms). Please snap them correctly!

  1. 00:12:009 (4,5,6) - I don't really recommend patterns like this, you get the end of the slider pretty covered by the hitbursts. At least in easier difficulties, it might be troublesome to read. check if you can work this out in some other way.
    There are other patterns similar to this, like 00:21:343 (1,2,3) and 01:29:343 (5,6,7) - . Make sure to check them out!

  4. 01:41:385 (1) - Please move the start of this to a 1/4th, not a 1/8th. I still have to confirm this but I was informed that it plays horribly in mania mode.
    (Remember to adjust the end of the spinner to the correct timing after that!).

  1. 00:52:176 (13,14,15) - Was this effect intended? I mean, the acceleration in the stream's spacing.
    I think that if it was intended, you could improve it. You could add a new combo at 00:52:010 (11) -, and make the spacing bigger starting from that circle. I wanted to give you an image but puush doesn't let me upload any hurrr.
