"If you're brave enough to map anything other than a swing song with this limitation, we'll give them an honorary 0.01 MBC points for the attempt."
I want my 0.01 point back :(
Frostbite proved to be almost impossible for me to map under that taiko restriction without heavy overmapping, but hey, at least it was an interesting challenge!
Anyway, kudos to all staff who listened to our feedback and provided mappers actual comments and feedback this time. Maybe try not to delay the results by almost half a year next time though? ;)

April 2020 hmm
Anyway, it's greatly disappointing that most entries that didn't get past screening actually received very few actual feedback (at least for taiko). Most screeners just give literally "[no comment]" which don't explain their reasoning, aren't constructive at all, and make the contest result unjustified. Would like at least a sentence or two from all screeners next time.
i don't quite get if you are joking about this map being pp farm or you are being extremely rude to mapper lol
I actually agree with your view about the voting system. I still prefer having the entire team working rather than an individual. Not sure why they made this change :(
For the 6 maps I chose, before I made the final decision I actually considered the identical problem you mentioned. I found it really difficult to find a balance between quality and fun for charts. I'd really want some more longer and harder maps, but then I eventually decided a quality-oriented approach because I would like the community to know more potential maps and mappers, hopefully encouraging more people to appreciate their works.
I know not everyone enjoys seeing mostly easy maps in a monthly chart, especially when this is the first time having one person deciding the chart content. But I hope you can understand that everyone has his own taste, and I've already tried my best to make a compromise between my own views and the community's expectation on challenging maps.
And finally, congrats to all winners, and I hope you can enjoy the maps I picked :3
While I'm happy to see my map getting first in the taiko section, I do agree that voting from 2015 onward should be done on a per-mode basis, i.e. 10 votes for EACH gamemode.
I believe this is much fairer than the current system in which 10 votes represent all 4 modes, because currently people may vote a certain map based on only a certain gamemode, meaning that diffs of the other 3 gamemodes get voted as well even though this might not be people's intention, eventually resulting in an inaccurate voting result.
To be honest, I somehow think my airman oni isn't very well-mapped since it is actually my experimental work in terms of the usage of speed changes, which really makes me question if I truly worth the 6-month supporter tag.
Also it's a pity that some taiko maps that I really like receive only a handful of votes. There are many excellent taiko-only sets in 2014 that worth our attention but the actual winners are basically all taiko guest diffs from popular songs just because of the flaws in the current voting system :(
But anyway, congrats to all winners and I hope mode-specific voting can be implemented next time.
Taiko diffs are really nicely-made :3
