i want to point out that there are alot of inconsistencies within this difficulty. for starters, there are barely any doubles within the vocal part, which makes it quite contrastless and tame imo. you can refer to 2328626#4852913 if you wanna add some doubles in here aswell, but when you do use doubles, they are pretty inconsistent without a clear reason.
generally alot of the ideas are pretty unclear when it comes to the long notes aswell like at 00:09:487 (9487|1) - not having a vocal but still being a long note or when you make these 00:14:921 (14921|0,15030|1,15139|2) - there are only drums to these tripples at 00:07:965 (7965|2,8073|1,8182|0) - so stuff like 00:15:030 (15030|1) - 00:28:943 (28943|2) - should be omitted
00:07:095 (7095|0,7313|1,7530|0) - might be a bit too awkward for some players at this level, would move 00:07:095 (7095|0) - to col 4 for hand balance
for long notes like 00:07:530 (7530|0) - 00:11:008 (11008|0) - 00:14:487 (14487|3) - 00:17:965 (17965|3) - 00:21:443 (21443|3) - 00:24:921 (24921|1) - 00:28:400 (28400|1) - 00:31:878 (31878|3) - im a bit confused as to why they are more elongated, as it stands the vocals should mostly end at the 1/1 scale, so it'd make sense to make them shorter imo
nitpicky but 00:58:221 (58221|3) - kinda wish this could be expressed to the percussions as 1/2 rice instead of simplfying to a long note
00:46:860 ~ 01:09:582 i have a slight concern given how this drop was mapped.
The main drop here feels rather the same density wise with the easy difficulty, but I am not too fond of the drop using 00:48:990 (48990|3,48990|2,49345|3,49345|2,49701|2,49701|3) - these kinds of stacks as it may hinder playability from the anchory feeling. Yes it may be easier to read overall but like i mentioned above i do believe it might play slightly too much.
SUGGESTION: I do think that you can make the anchory feeling weaker and lower the density by making the longer synths as doubles instead of solely focusing on the percussions ex. 00:48:990
another add-on for this but i do think that when it comes to the song's future bass changing pitch like at 00:51:831 you can also do something like this
for stronger emphasis imo
00:44:730 (44730|3,45085|0) - could move these to the inner columns for the riser/the beeping sounds gradually getting quiter
01:59:425 (119425|1,119425|0,119559|2,119559|1,119693|3,119693|2,119827|3,119827|1,119961|2,119961|1,120095|2,120095|0,120229|3,120229|0,120363|3,120363|1,120497|2,120497|1) - this is just too brutal since it creates a huge difficulty spike. This also being especially at the end may just make some people fail. Please change it to 1/2 jumptrills
This feels rather empty. Despite the chiptune being pretty diverse, there is only 1/2 going on. I also do not think that it represents the difficulty well as It's rather easy to the point it feels on par with the lower difficulty.
SUGGESTION: This part can definitely utilize the chiptune more instead of consistent 1/2 with a small 1/1 break (for example notes at 01:11:546 01:11:680 01:12:483 01:13:689 01:13:823 ectect...
Pattern suggestion for 01:08:733 (68733|0,68800|3,68867|2,68934|1,69068|2,69202|3,69269|1,69336|0,69470|1,69604|2,69872|0,70006|2) -
01:08:666 (68666|3,68733|0,68800|3,68867|2,68934|1) - these would be more relevant as the riser will also be accounted due to the patterning getting more difficult
also the more aggressive kicks could use more jack oriented but clean patterns given their aggressive nature
also do follow 2130605#4672956 if you agree with this suggestion
00:57:015 (57015|3,57148|3,57416|3,57550|3) - Would suggest to rearrange as having 2 jacks consecutively on the same column might be a bit unfair to play.
I think the overall structure here is kinda forced, alot of the rice placed is a bit overshadowed because of the 1/2 LN mix. Even sometimes at points like 00:49:448 you are breaking your own consistency by not using rice for the vocal or 00:49:648 not being a double for the snare
SUGGESTION
You can convert the long notes of 00:46:568 ~ 00:48:175 , 00:48:711 ~ 00:49:247 and 00:50:854 ~ 00:52:461
as rice, giving more clear contrast to the long notes outside of the dense parts while also not making it look too cluttered
00:44:090 (44090|1,44157|0) - Would move these to col 3 and 2 to make them more symmetrical and less ugly imo
00:25:340 (25340|0,25340|3) - Why is this a double? nothing strong can be heard so I'd recommend removing 00:25:340 (25340|0) -
this is gonna be a paragraph lol
I kinda think that this part is a biiit too close to the insane difficulty while being too much of a jump from normal to this difficulty.
The same amount of notes is being used while being almost the same as insane, which creates a difficulty gap from just density alone
Meanwhile here, the jump feels rather too big, as it goes from 1/2 LNs to full on 1/4 rice patterns for the main melody without exceptions
Take this part for example, patterns like 00:20:452 (20452|2,20519|1,20586|3) - as opposed to the ones on the insane difficulty are more harder to read as rolls tend to be more straightforward to follow. In addition, stuff like 00:20:854 (20854|3,20921|1,20988|3) - create a trilly feeling when placed like this, meanwhile on insane it uses basic rolls to simplify the patterning
SUGGESTIONS
In addition, some of the broken bursts like 00:31:702 (31702|1,31769|0,31836|2) - could be made as rolls to make reading easier and more natural to hit
00:05:318 (5318|2,5407|1) - Given the circumstances, i find the LN usage rather brutal as the BPM is almost at 240. since you're emphasizing the vocal sample you could just make them rice
Also something extra but 00:05:586 (5586|3,5586|2,5720|2,5720|1) - is the only instance where the chords make a jack as opposed to stuff like 00:03:443 (3443|3,3443|2,3577|1,3577|0) - 00:07:729 (7729|2,7729|3,7863|0,7863|1) -
01:49:247 (109247|1,109314|0,109381|2,109515|1,109581|3,109648|2) - Following your consistency, this part could use 1/2 LNs to emphasise the fast sounds
Ranking criteria states: Long note releases should be at least 1/2 of a beat apart from each other. Smaller gaps between releases require a level of finger independence that players of this difficulty cannot handle.
01:40:140 (100140|3,100340|0) - 01:40:340 (100340|0,100541|2) - 01:48:711 (108711|0,108912|1) - These are 1/4 apart from each other and break the criteria, I highly recommend converting them to rice notes instead
00:43:756 (43756|3,43823|2,43890|0,44023|1,44090|2,44157|3) - For a really calm part before another drop, i think this feels a bit unsuited given the BPM and how the map is structured. I do think that making the triples to a 1/2 Long note for each hi-hat burst would be nicer to keep the difficulty balance clean
I think this may be too much of a jump, even if it only lasts for about 2 seconds
Since the hard difficulty is basically the same pattern, i believe that it would be nice to omit 00:26:345 (26345|3,26747|3) - to create a small break here
01:31:702 (91702|2,91836|1,91970|3,92104|0,92238|2,92372|1,92506|3) - Imo this could be less dense, given that the next section is literally a buildup it could use a small break and not overwhelm the player. So maybe you can turn the 1/2 patterns to 1/1?
Just a general suggestion but i feel like the contrast in this part is kinda weird, as LN are over utilized to the point it's a bit too hard.
Some of the LNs like 00:22:327 (22327|2) - 00:26:077 (26077|2) - 00:28:890 (28890|1) - 00:29:157 (29157|0) - 00:29:827 (29827|3) - 00:29:961 (29961|1) - 00:30:363 (30363|2) - 00:33:443 (33443|3) - 00:33:979 (33979|1) - 00:34:113 (34113|3) - 00:34:247 (34247|0) -
You can try making these rice instead of long notes, this will create a nice differenciation between the 1/2 sounds that use rice and the 1/4 sounds that use 1/2 LN for emphasis
Alright so im a bit concerned with the 1/2 jack usage as it may feel inappropriate given the BPM is quite high for a normal difficulty, in addition the lower difficulty has much more simpler patterns. In my opinion, making simple jumpstreams instead of jacks would be better to bridge the gap for the buildup
02:01:434 (121434|3) - impact here feels much more pronounced than 02:01:300 (121300|1,121300|0) - so i suggest making the former as a double
Nitpick but I think that the LN placement feels rather plain as it's copy pasted (ex. 01:37:461 (97461|3,97729|2) - is the same as 01:41:747 (101747|3,102015|2) - after a whole music phase) so my suggestion would be to slightly alter some of the placement. In my example that i mentioned you could ctrl + j 01:41:747 (101747|3,102015|2) - and 01:42:818 (102818|0,103086|1) -
you can also do somethig similar with 01:50:318 (110318|2,110586|1) - by placing them in the outer columns rather than reusing them in the same placement to add some variety
nitpcik
00:44:157 (44157|1) - since the hihats here are 1/4 do you want to move to col 3 with the idea to add some contrast?
00:42:282 (42282|1,42818|2) - General Idea
Instead of this buildup being long notes... how about you use some bursts instead?
The idea behind this is to bridge the gap of the buildup with the normal difficulty. Since the kicks at 00:42:282 are less impactful than the ones at 00:42:818 you can use 3 notes to emphasize the kicks while with the stronger kicks you can maximize by adding 5 note bursts for the stronger kicks. Of course you can modify the patterns so long they are simple to follow
01:10:541 (70541|3) - would be nice to omit this as this part is much more calm and the sound feel a bit quiet to add extra density
00:57:015 (57015|3,57282|3,57282|2) - this is the only instance in this part where you do jacks for the kicks, is it intentional? if not, you can make it more comfortable by moving 00:57:015 (57015|3) - to col 3 00:57:148 (57148|0) - to col 4 and the chord at 00:57:282 (57282|3,57282|2) - in col 12
00:20:318 (20318|0,20854|2) - 00:22:461 (22461|3,22997|1) - 00:24:604 (24604|3,25140|2) - 00:32:907 (32907|1,33309|3) -
Ranking criteria states.... Long note releases should be at least one beat apart from each other. Smaller gaps between releases require a level of finger independence that players of this difficulty cannot handle.
While it would be fine to break it once or twice (in your case 4 times) I do think that the map is already pretty difficult for what an easy is supposed to be so breaking the guidelines may just be overkill. 224 is really high aswell is more restrictive and does not work in your favor
SUGGESTION: I do think you can omit the longer LNs 00:20:318 (20318|0) - for example and use singles instead of prioritizing the fast sounds to make it more simple to follow
