[General]
- Might increase the OD of Unconscious to 8.2 or something because the LNs present aren't super complicated at all. They're just pretty simple holds and releases that aren't difficult to time.
- OD/HP of Kami's Easy feels a bit too high for the general target audience the diff is aimed at. Additionally, the difficulty isn't very dense, so setting HP at 7.5 is a bit harsh because if the player misses, there aren't as many opportunities to recover. Dont really have a reason for the OD that's solid but oh well. Setting both at 7/7 might be friendlier towards beginners.
- You might want to increase your hitsound volume to something not inaudible. Might use 50% or something since it's easier to hear that way.
- so about the hitsounds i mentioned above, i might just use a basic set of drum samples for the map like this https://puu.sh/wyvts.zip . It uses the drum sampleset so you dont really have to change much in the map.
- tfw default hitsounds smh
[some stuff about the kiai]
Tbh, I wouldn't just end it off midway through the chorus. I get that the percussion chills a bit after 01:28:121 - and 02:21:455 - , but the vocals are still pretty intense, and the guitar too. For that reason, I would suggest extending the first two kiais to 01:38:788 - and 02:32:121 - respectively
[pop reasons using the highest diff as reference]
so like, the only thing you can really hear is the soft-hitnormal tbh. Everything else is drowned out by the music. Anyways.
00:04:788 (4788|5) - shouldn't this also be a clap since it's the same kind of snare as heard at 00:05:121 - ?
00:03:455 (3455|5,3455|6) - Additionally, you have these two drum-hitfinishes but I dont understand why you need two when you can just have one. This would be fine if the rest of your samples were doubled, but they're not, so the volumes are inconsistent with the rest of the hitsounds.
00:05:455 (5455|3,5455|6) - Why have two finishes here when 00:02:788 (2788|0) - only has 1?
00:08:121 (8121|0,8121|1) - Same thing as the above, though looking ahead in the map, it seems like only using one hitsound for the finish was a mistake as opposed to the two finishes.
00:14:121 (14121|6,14121|5) - Double claps but you only used single claps before at places such as 00:10:121 (10121|5,10371|5,10621|5) -
00:18:621 (18621|1,18621|5) - another example, when only 2 beats earlier you used a single clap 00:18:121 (18121|4) -
00:21:038 (21038|5,21205|4) - Shouldn't these have d-hitf on them since they're the same sound as 00:20:955 (20955|4,21121|3) - ?
00:37:455 (37455|0,37455|1) - Seems like you're missing finishes here
00:39:455 (39455|6,39621|6,39788|6,39955|6,40121|0) - Back to single hitsounds wee
00:56:121 - Just saying, but even on music/effect 50/100, you can't really hear the d-hitc playing. Even the s-hitw is a bit of a struggle to make out once the snares have been added in to the music.
01:08:788 - Yeah no, I get the effect you're trying to get is to reflect the fade away in the music, but 5% is pretty much silent.
01:27:455 (87455|0,87538|3,87621|0) - Single hitsounds here when the rest of the section has been double. The only thing that's different about this sound is that it's a 1/4 triplet kick and not a 2/1 snare, but it still has the same volume and intensity of the other sounds in the section.
01:38:788 - What with the amount of chords here, you would think to use double hitsounds to try and balance out the volumes, but instead it's only single hitsounds at 30%, so it's really hard to hear over the s-hitn's annoying af default hat (I kind of really hate defaults no offense).
01:49:788 (109788|5,111788|2,112455|2,115121|5,117121|2) - add claps here to be consistent with the 2/1 double hitsounds you've been using so far.
The rest of the chart's hitsounds is pretty much the same stuff I've been mentioning here, so I'll just stop it at this and move on with the chart.
[Unconscious]
00:11:455 (11455|6,11455|5,11955|6) - I'd flip the columns of the LN and short notes here so that there's equal spacing with columns for all the jumps in the minibrackets at 00:11:955 (11955|3,11955|6,12038|4,12038|2,12121|3,12121|1) - .
00:11:955 - to 00:13:455 - Column 7 is pretty dead, and while I get your intention with the stacks was to represent the guitar, I think you should try and balance out the columns a bit so that there's at least one note present in every column in every measure. Might try to move 00:12:788 (12788|0,12955|0) - tp col 7 in that case.
00:19:621 (19621|2,19621|4,19621|5,19621|0,19621|3) - Tbh, I'd just make this four notes instead of five since the crash here is cut short. I mean, you used four notes at 00:20:455 (20455|2,20455|1,20455|4,20455|5) - and then four notes for all the longer crashes at 00:21:455 - too
00:24:455 (24455|0) - Might move this to the right hand to make it a bit more balanced on the right hand.
00:25:288 (25288|5,25371|5) - I might try to separate the LN release from the minijack here so that it's a bit easier to execute and time. I would flip 00:24:788 (24788|4,24788|2) - with each other and just make a shield using 00:25:371 (25371|2) -
00:25:621 (25621|2,25621|4,25955|2) - if the above is accepted, flip these too for stack consistently
00:27:288 (27288|4) - shouldn't this be in col 4 for consistency with 00:24:621 (24621|3) - ?
00:28:621 (28621|1,28788|2) - I would also suggest a control J here so that the jump in 00:28:621 - is stacked directly with 00:28:288 -
00:33:205 (33205|2) - Might move this to the right hand cause the [middle+ring][index][middle+ring] is kind of hard to execute imo
00:34:121 (34121|4) - I would suggest moving this to col 6 for a bit of right hand balance since that column isn't really used much in this measure.
00:36:121 - In this measure, I'd try to move some notes to col 1 since it's also not used very much at all. I understand that the stacks are a big part of this map, but sometimes the hand balance is just nonexistent with all the forced stacks.
00:39:455 (39455|4,39621|5,39788|4,39955|5) - For this 1/2 trill on the right hand, I'd try to alternate the notes between left and right hand
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/847990200:43:121 (43121|0) - Move to the right hand because adding jumps on the same hand as stacks like this gets a bit messy because you're suddenly adding a weaker finger to hit at the same time as the middle finger and then trying to remove it from the next hit without much time to recover.
00:45:455 - Might make this a triple for the crash here
00:45:455 - Also in this section, the stacks are all pretty much on the left hand save for 00:50:121 (50121|5,50288|5,50455|5,50621|5) - , so that puts an uneven strain on the left hand whereas the right hand just kind of hangs out most of the time. I'd try to mirror some of the stacks to the right hand for this reason.
00:54:788 (54788|6,55121|5,55455|1,55788|0) - I don't really see the point of these LNs being here. I mean, I can kind of hear the sound I guess, but it's pretty faint and sounds more like a mixture of 1/2 and 1/1 instead of straight 1/1
00:56:121 - Kind of sad there's no real differentiation between the snares + kicks + hihats. I probably should have addressed this earlier too, but I dont see the point of the jumps like 00:56:288 (56288|5,56621|3,56788|5,56955|6,57288|5,57455|4) - where it's only a hihat
00:57:371 - In a similar vein, kind of sad that the 1/4 hihat triplet isn't mapped here
01:04:455 (64455|5,65121|3) - I would isolate this note in col 7 so that the snares stands out from the kicks in this measure, kind of like so
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/847997601:08:038 (68038|3,68121|2,68205|3,68288|4,68371|3,68455|2,68538|3,68621|4,68705|3) - No offense but this is kind of ehhhhh because of the needless stack in col 4. I think a simple trill would be more suited for it, such as this
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8480013 . I think this works better because it's visually more readable as the player can easily group the notes together, and the hand motion is generally the same throughout
01:10:705 (70705|3,70871|3,71038|3,71205|3,71371|3) - Similar thing to the above.
01:11:788 (71788|1,71788|0,71955|1,71955|0,72121|3,72121|2) - I'd reverse the columns here so that the 1/2 snares aren't directly stacked with the 1/4 snares which I think aids in differentiating the snaps.
01:17:455 - I think that isolating the LNs on the right hand was pretty cool, but there's a lot of times when you just leave the columns empty for a measure or two at a time. I'm pretty sure this was intentional, but the hand balance is pretty much off the entire time and leads to the map being denser than necessary because you essentially make it 6K + 1 (sometimes)
01:22:288 (82288|2,82371|1) - I'd move to col 2 and 4 respectively so that you continue the 2-2-2-13-2-2-2-13 pattern here.
01:33:455 - Not a big issue, but the chord sizes here is different from earlier in the map despite essentially being the same sounds. I would try to make it more consistent by using jumps for the kicks like at 01:33:955 (93955|2,94038|1) - . Also, the crash at 01:36:121 - is five notes when you've normally used either four notes or three notes.
01:41:038 (101038|1) - Think it might be better to move this onto the right hand cause the left hand is already dying a bit with the stacks in col 3, whereas the right hand has pretty much done barely anything since 01:38:788 -
01:47:621 (107621|2,107705|1) - Suggest control J so that 01:47:621 (107621|2) - starts in col 2 which is consistent with 01:46:288 (106288|1,106621|1,106955|1,107288|1) -
01:48:955 (108955|5,109121|3) - I'd arrange the LNs in a way that doesn't create some awkward mini trills with the LN holds on the same hand
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8480112 01:51:538 (111538|1) - Move to col 6 so that the strain is a bit more balanced out with the right hand (assuming the player is a right thumb player), it just becomes a simple one handed thumb - middle.
01:56:871 (116871|1) - ^
02:08:121 (128121|6,128288|5,128455|6,128621|5,128788|6,128955|5,129121|6,129288|5,129455|6) - So far the map's been pretty chill on the right hand,
and this is by no means difficult, but I dont think the difference in left to right hand strain is necessary here. I think it would be better to split the trills across both hands like this
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/848015402:49:288 (169288|1,169621|1,169955|1) - Think this might be better to play if it were in col 3 since it'd be alternating between ring and index, and you also avoid the 1/2 stack at 02:49:955 (169955|1,170121|1) - which I think is a bit out of place in this section since you've mostly mapped it with a bit of symmetry in mind
02:51:788 (171788|2,171955|2) - I would move this to col 5 to avoid having the LNs being played on the same hand as the OH minitrill.
02:53:121 (173121|3,173288|3) - Similar reason to above, I would move this to 5. Even though col 4 is on the thumb, you could have some people who play left thumb which would be
03:41:288 (221288|5,221455|4,221621|5) - I'd move the LN to col 5 to have a consistent amount of space between the two notes like 03:40:788 (220788|3,220955|5) - . You'd have to rearrange some of the following notes for that tho if you don't want to use a shield, so I'd try this
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/848026903:49:955 (229955|1,230038|2) - I would control J this to connect it to 03:50:121 (230121|0) - so it rolls in only a single direction.
04:00:455 (240455|2,240621|3) - Would do the same here for the same reason above, to connect the triplet at 04:00:621 (240621|3,240705|1) -
04:02:788 (242788|3) - I'd move this to col 6 so that you don't have a minitrill with 04:02:621 (242621|3,242705|2,242788|3) -
04:12:788 (252788|4,252871|3,252955|2,253038|3,253121|4,253205|3,253288|2) - Similar to what I mentioned a while back about S patterns like this. They're a bit hard to hit not due to the challenge but cause of the strain it causes to do the minitrills so quickly one after another.
