The Non-Professional Cup 2 (NPC2) is an international team-based double-elimination 2v2 osu! tournament hosted by Chugga444. This is the second instalment of the Non-Professional Cup.

Ruleset

Tournament rules

  1. The tournament will be in a 2 versus 2 setup.
  2. Each team must have between 2 to 4 members.
  3. Beatmap scoring is based on Score V2.
  4. The beatmaps for each round will be announced by the map selectors in advance before the actual matches take place. Only these beatmaps will be used during the respective matches.
    • One beatmap will be a tiebreaker beatmap. This beatmap will only be played in case of a tie.
    • The qualifiers pool will not have a tiebreaker beatmap.
  5. The match schedule will be settled by the administrators.
  6. If no staff or referee is available, the match will be postponed.
  7. The use of Visual Settings and skins are allowed.
  8. A referee will create a multiplayer room and send out invites to team captains 10 minutes prior to the start time.
  9. If a team can not show up with the minimum number of players required 10 minutes after the start time, their opponents win by default.
  10. No beatmap will be replayed in the same match, unless it has been nullified.
  11. If a beatmap ends in a draw, the map will be nullified and replayed.
  12. If a player disconnects, their score will not be counted.
    • If the player disconnects within the first 30 seconds of the map, the match may be aborted and replayed under the referee's discretion.
    • The disconnected player have 5 minutes to rejoin the match. If the player failed to reconnect within time limit, the point will be given to the opponent team.
  13. If a player disconnects between maps and the team can not provide a replacement, the match can be delayed 10 minutes at maximum. If the team cannot provide a replacement after 10 minutes, their opponents win by default.
  14. Lag is not a valid reason to nullify a map.
  15. Unlimited numbers of substitution are allowed during a match.
    • If a map is replayed, both teams are forbidden to make substitution.
  16. All players and referees must be treated with respect. Instructions of the referees and tournament staffs are to be followed. Decisions labeled as final are not to be objected.
  17. Penalties for violating the tournament rules may include:
    • Exclusion of specific players for one beatmap
    • Exclusion of specific players for an entire match
    • Declaring the match as Lost by Default
    • Disqualification from the entire tournament

Stage instructions

  1. In the qualifiers, all teams will play the same mappool.
  2. The qualifiers contains 9 maps in total, 3 NoMod, 2 Hidden, 2 HardRock, 2 DoubleTime.
  3. Each team will only play through the qualifiers once in a designated lobby.
  4. Each team must have 2 members to play each map. Players can exchange freely between each map.
  5. Teams that didn't sign up for a qualifiers lobby, or can not show up to a qualifiers lobby with enough members, will be automatically disqualified.
  6. The top 32 seeded teams will advance to the Round of 32.
  7. Following the Qualifiers, Double Elimination stages will be played. This means that the winner moves to the next stage and the losing team gets moved to the Loser bracket.
  8. Winning conditions:
    • The Round of 32 and Round of 16 will be best of 9 (first team to 5 wins).
    • The Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be best of 11 (first team to 6 wins).
    • The Finals and Grand Finals will be best of 13 (first team to 7 wins).

Match instructions

  1. A referee will create a multiplayer room and send out invites to team captains 10 minutes prior to the start time.
  2. Each team are allowed to select 1 warm-up beatmap. All warm-ups must be under 4 minutes and appropriate.
  3. Each team can ban 1 beatmap to be selected from the pool in the Round of 32 and Round of 16. These beatmaps are not allowed to be picked by any team in the entire match.
    • From Quarterfinals onwards, the number of bans increases to two.
    • A mod pool can not be banned completely.
    • A team cannot ban two maps in the same mod pool except NoMod.
  4. Each captain must use !roll once in the multiplayer lobby.
    • The team with the higher roll chooses to ban first or pick first.
    • The team that bans first will pick second, and vice versa.
  5. Beatmap selection will alternate between each team selecting a beatmap out of the mappool, they may pick freely from any mod pool.
  6. In the case of a tie, the tiebreaker beatmap will be played.
    • For the Grand Finals tiebreaker, there will be 3 tiebreaker beatmaps. The captain from each team will privately message the referee to ban one of those beatmaps.
    • If both teams ban the same beatmap, the referee will use !roll to randomly select 1 of the remaining 2 tiebreaker beatmaps to be played.
    • If the teams ban different beatmaps, the remaining beatmap will be played.

Mappool instructions

  1. There will be a new mappool for every stage.
  2. Each mappool consists of 5 brackets: NoMod, Hidden, HardRock, DoubleTime and FreeMod.
  3. The FreeMod bracket will have Free Mod enabled.
    • Possible mod choices are Hidden, HardRock and Hidden+HardRock.
    • When playing a FreeMod map, one player must have any kind of mod choices enabled. For the other player, enabling mods is optional.
  4. NoFail will be enforced on all maps.
  5. Each mappool has a specific size depending on the stage.
    • The Round of 32 mappool will have 4 NoMod maps, and 2 of each for the remaining mod brackets.
    • The Round of 16 mappool will have 5 NoMod maps, and 2 of each for the remaining mod brackets.
    • The Quarterfinals mappool will have 5 NoMod maps, 2 FreeMod maps, and 3 of each for the remaining mod brackets.
    • The Semifinals mappool will have 5 NoMod maps, and 3 of each for the remaining mod brackets.
    • The Finals and the Grand Finals mappool will have 6 NoMod maps, 4 DoubleTime maps, and 3 of each for the remaining mod brackets.
  6. Each mappool except the Grand Finals has 1 tiebreaker beatmap, the Grand Finals has 3 tiebreaker beatmaps.
  7. The tiebreaker will be played under FreeMod conditions.
    • When playing the tiebreaker, there are no mod requirements.

Scheduling instructions

  1. Each stage will be held on a single weekend.
  2. All Double Elimination Stages will be held on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, UTC+0.
  3. Scheduling will be handled by the administrators. Schedules will be released approximately one week before the first matches of the stage. The schedule will try to respect the participants' time zones.
  4. All reschedules must be requested at least 1 day before the first matches of the stage are played. Both teams must agree to a reschedule and informed an administrator for the reschedule to be valid.
    • Administrators has the right to decline reschedule requests.
