You're following too much the vocals, and not respecting DS. Avoid using red & blue tick.

Easy/Venus
Use 1/2 beat divisor for easy, or don't use blue ticks. You also need consistent distance snapping. The timing is very, very confusing otherwise. Try 0.6x to 0.8x distance spacing. For easy/normal diffs, try to stick to the beat instead of the vocals. This retains flow in the song and makes it overall easier to play. Some variation is good, however.
I'm having much better timing with 140.25 BPM and 13,160 offset.

00:13:854 (2) - Push this over to the next white tick. Alternatively, if you still want this to land on the red tick, make 00:13:212 (1) - a slider
that lands on the red tick.
00:16:621 (1) - Move so it's not overlapping the previous slider
00:18:332 (4) - Overlap, also reconsider slider shape
00:20:685 (2) - Might want to make this a curved slider. imo completely straight vertical/horizontal sliders are ugly in a lot of cases, only sometimes they can look good.
00:21:655 (3) - Push over to white tick.
00:26:461 (2) - Push back to the white tick, consider making this a symmetrical slider. The shape looks off.
00:30:097 (4) - Might want to make this a curved slider, or making it a wave slider.

Use 9309 offset for this one. The entire map is a mess of improper distance spacing. Please reposition everything with around 0.8x distance spacing.

00:09:309 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Redo this entire part with proper distance spacing and with the new offset.
00:13:159 (1,2,3,4) - I would suggest spacing these apart, along with the ones coming after it. This kind of style can be saved for a harder difficulty.
00:26:635 (3) - Try not to use crazy slider points like this :P Consider reshaping.
00:29:630 (1) - Also consider reshaping.
00:33:053 (1,2,3) - Add something in the middle of these to keep rhythm.
01:11:341 (6) - New combo, and also make this land on the red tick.

Moon
Use offset 9309.
Change CS to 4.
00:00:060 (1) - Get rid of this spinner, or make it start later. That's an awful long time to be spinning at the start of the song.

In my honest opinion, I would remap this difficulty with the new offset + BPM.

Also consider changing your preview point to where "Fighting Evil by Moonlight" is as it makes more sense in the preview to start there.

One final thing. You will probably have to change your difficulty names to something easier to understand. Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Moon. All these diffs can be arranged in any order so it won't pass because people won't be able to understand at a glance what is the hardest difficulty. Simple Easy, Normal, Hard, Insane will be your best bet unless you can come up with a theme that can be understood easily what the easiest and hardest difficulties will be.

I did a bit more testing. Mostly while making my diff. The BPM is actually 140.20. You can tell because it starts getting off sync pretty badly near the end.

My diff is about 70% done so sometime tomorrow it'll be good to go. Or should be at least.

Right, so for easy I see a few things

Firstly, Some of the circle placement looks kind of odd. E.g 00:22:464 and how its placed a little to the right of the slider. I have never seen that done before and it just looks a little weird. It may not me major though.

Secondly, the circle at 00:31:662 was one I didn't even see when playing through the map the first time. It could catch a newbe off guard.
Thirdly and most importantly the timing. I notice that the song is timed so most if not all of your beats are placed on a blue tick. This again is odd. It may be a better idea to retime the song so that most beats start on white ticks instead of blue ones.
Also the sliders at 00:41:340 could be replaced by a slider with less repeats. Its not major though so its your choice.

Hard mode.

First thing to note, slider at 00:12:196. Its hidden under another slider. That is a massive no no. You just don't do that in mapping. If a slider is hidden under another slider directly then the map probably won't be ranked.
That repeat slider at 00:28:025 sounds misstimed and doesn't go with the music. Its also not very practical. You could get the same effect with stacked hit circles.
Unessisary new combo at 00:32:089
The sliders and circles from 00:37:223 to 00:37:864 are oddly placed and really confusing. Don't be afraid to spread out your circles and sliders a bit
00:41:715 Another slider hidden under a slider. Like I said thats a big no no. That should never be done when designing beatmaps.
Slider at 00:58:185 overlaps the previous slider. Again bit no no.
Combo at 01:14:656 is unnessisarily long.
Another slider hidden under a slider from 01:21:715 to 01:22:142
Slider at 01:30:271 is unessisary. If you just end the song after the spinner it would work fine.

Overall easy looks fine but hard needs a lot of work. I suggest you go look at hard mode and compare it to other current hard mode maps that have been ranked.
I also reccomend you check out the ranking criteria article on the osu wiki as it will tell you all the do's and don'ts when it comes to beatmapping

Anime/English which is what the song will be classified as, shouldn't be in it as well. So just copy/paste the bold, and you're set

For your easy you're constantly changing the distance spacing. An example of this would be at 00:21:628 (2). Here you have 0.23x instead of your usual 0.4x.

played this map and easily found things that needed fixing so i thought i would give you a free mod :P

as usual, if you don't want to change something, you don't need to. my mod is just lots of suggestions (many of which will be mentioned by other modders too i think :P)

Easy

- the distance spacing would be a lot better if it were larger. 0.7x would be best (or 0.6x if you don't want to change as much). it's nice to have some space between notes that are placed on white spaces, otherwise it feels like you're not even moving your mouse/pen, which is pretty boring. for an easy difficulty, it's highly recommended that you follow the distance spacing teh whole time, so if you do change the multiplier, you'll have to pretty much re-arrange your whole map (sorry)
00:21:628 (2) - start this on 00:21:414 red tick to keep consistency with the previous 2 times something like this played in the song
00:27:405 (2) - ends on an awkward note. it would be better to not have this be a reverse slider and instead do something else. the slider shape itself is also pretty unappealing -- this could help with that: t/37194
00:46:021 (1) - it's also highly recommended that you don't include reverse sliders of 1/2 length which include multiple reverses on easy difficulties. new players have terrible reaction time and can't tell when the note is going to end like this
00:49:445 - include a note here. when the same rhythm played in the song prior there was a note every time
00:53:083 (4) - don't overlap notes like this on easy difficulties (standard stacking excused)
00:58:432 (4) - not a great slider again, although better than the other one
01:00:358 - a note should definitely be here to introduce that part with the guitar. it's too empty otherwise

random bg mod

people who play on 16:9 get a zoomed in, blurry image when the image is 4:3, so I upped x-res to 1366, and added a sort of "improved letterboxing," i.e. not just ugly black bars. People that play at 4:3 aren't affected by this change, since it's cropped off. I also gave the image a smoothing filter to reduce the artifacting from the original image's compression.


you obviously don't have to use this if you don't want to, but imo just the smoothing alone is a pretty noticeable improvement

  1. Your objects seems to be lacking hitsounds. One common way to adding consistent hitsounding is to create a pattern, such as a clap hitsound pattern. Try this one out:


Where all hit objects that lands on the ticks marked with the 'x' will have a clap. Only the objects on the ticks with with the x should have a clap.

[Easy]
00:13:924 (1) - Consider adding a quiet finish here, for the cymbal crash in the music.
00:21:414 (2) - Extend the tail to 00:22:055, so it hits that beat at 00:22:055 in the music and the vocals saying 'from'.
00:22:482 (3) - Add finish here to.
00:27:405 (2) - Move to 00:27:619, the timing difference here is inconsistent because it's too close to 00:26:977 (1) - . I think I should address this before going further, the SV in the three diffs doesn't go in a progresive way, there's nothing wrong with it tho. But I suggest to do any of these two ways, making the SV of all diffs 1.40, or going 1.20-1.30 for Easy, keeping Lanturn's at 1.50 and using 1.60 for Hard, this would make the spread somehow better. This is not a must, the spread is fine as it is now.

[Easy]
00:15:637 (4) - *nazi* Move the last point to x:344 y:168, this will improve the blanket considerably.
00:19:916 (5) - Maybe move the points in a way to accentuate the curve as in the previous slider. Alternatively, you could copy previous slider and rotate it around 70° anticlockwise.
00:23:553 (1) - I'd suggest to remove this one or move it to the next white tick, it'd match better the music imo.
00:26:335 (1,1) - These circles are quite tricky as they aren't following the strongest/most catchy rhythm. I suggest to remove both and put a circle in 00:27:191 and maybe one more in 00:26:763.
00:30:401 (3,4) - Although this is following vocals correctly, beginners may be a bit lost when they have to hit the next slider due the irregular rhythm you're using, I suggest you to snap this in the next white tick, so this rhythm stick to the main beats and being more beginner friendly. Also put NC in (3).
00:33:825 (1,2) - I'd suggest to avoid 1/2 patterns like this in an Easy as beginers would likely hurry to hit the next circle and likely miss. Remove the circle and snap the slider in 00:34:038.
00:40:886 (1,2,1,1,2,3,1) - This part is good rhythm wise, but I have a large suggestion that would be better imo. Why don't you stick to put a combo for each "Sailor ___!" that is in the lyrics, it'd be nice to play :p Like here:

00:49:874 (4) - I'd suggest you to unstack this, due the 3/2 rhythm you're using for the previous objects, this may be a bit trick to hit in time without help of spacing.

00:17:990 (3,4) - I suggest you to stack (4) in the tail of (3) or move it away keeping the spacing consistent.
00:29:117 (10) - Use a blanket for this, like you did in 00:26:977 (5,6), so this looks better.
00:30:829 (2) - Try to accentuate the curve of this more, so it leads better to the next circle, like in the screenie.
00:32:754 (3) - This one feels a bit odd as you're mapping on vocals and then we have this kind of a hold, maybe you should keep mapping on vocals keeping the flow moving.
00:42:598 (5) - Put NC.
00:43:026 (6) - Maybe use a 1/2 slider with one repeat, to follow vocals better, you did it in Easy :p

@Dekaane: It does seem like it would be better facing down like you said, but the only problem is that it gets a bit crowded from overlaps and such. I might try to remap this little outro sometime later if more people mention this like you did. About the combos. I prefer to keep them as is for now. The follow-points are key to help players determine how far a note is away on stuff that is 2/1 or further. for example. 00:22:911 (2,3) - the follow point helps more than one could think :P

Thanks Sonico.

The whistles instead of finishes for the one section is intentional. The first one actually has finishes playing in the background while that doesn't, so I used whistles instead.

About the finish at the end of the song. I'm still not sure I want to put that there because a normal hit makes more sense to the music instead.

Just look at the hard diff, and I think this map aren't ready for rank, even ready for mods though. In my opinion, the hard diff is a mess. Perhaps you'd try to use the same spacing to place every objects to make it much cleaner. For example, 00:12:854 (4,5) - is 1/1 rhythm, but the distance between them shows like the rhythm is 1/2 (or even shorter). That would confuse the player, they can't even follow the rhythm to click the objects because those objects didn't be placed like "there's a rhythm". It's just something really random and no one will no which time they should beat it. For some more examples about this issue, 00:35:536 (5,6) - the spacing reduced in an awkward way, 00:37:248 (1,2,3,4,5) - suddenly the spacing comes bigger and smaller afterwards, 00:54:366 (3,1) - the rhythm is really weird, that (3) just ended at the blue tick.

Hope you'll get something and get your map better.

btw, you should add a new combo at 01:03:567 (5) - because the rhythm changes, so the players will know it.



Good luck on your future map, learn something from other people's map might be a great decision you'd like to go.
