when you think about it, every content creator is using their fans for a living.......Lights wrote:

not nessecarily true. A lot of them do, sure. But some people just make videos they like and put them on the internet.Winnyace wrote:

indeed, but I rarely find people like that nowadays, and usually they get a Patreon after a few months. I don't think it really matters anyway, since 99% it's optional.Lights wrote:

I don't see how this is a bad thing.Lights wrote:

right but the point is, these people are making their living by exploiting the fact that lonely guys are likely to donate to an anime girl if she does owo cute kawaiiiiii things while making occasional lewd remarks. Its no different than any other means of making money, but there are a lot of legitimate jobs that are still exploitative.Tad Fibonacci wrote:

That's how you make money, by making it out of other people by trading it with either material things or by providing a service.
If you sell something to someone, that's you making money through other people.
If you are hired by someone to do something, that's you making money out of other people.
If you provid a service to other people for a living like teaching, performing etc, you're making money out of other people.
That's a gross generalization.Lights wrote:

no it isn't. it is unambiguously the entire business model. Also consider your inherent bias on the matter due to being their target audience. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here friend, if you disagree thats fine ^^Tad Fibonacci wrote:

it doesn't seem that serious to me. I haven't seen too much v-tuber stuff but to me it seems like harmless streaming entertainment like that of twitch streamers. it's just another form of content. maybe this is me just thinking positively here but i don't think anyone is trying to exploit anyone here. obviously there are those who can be absurdly obsessed over these v-tubers and such, but these streamers are just having fun playing games, socializing, and acting out their persona.Lights wrote:

whether or not you feel thats right or wrong is up to you, I personally find it to be disgusting. But that being said, if you enjoy their content, go ahead and watch it. if you want to give them money because theyre owo kawaii, go ahead.

i still wouldn't watch it tho
I don't mean to say there is malicious intent, nor is it nessecarily intentional intentional exploitation. I'm sure the average V-tuber actress does it because its fun. Regardless it leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Their fanbase certainly has a bit to do with that too, though.Westonini wrote:

you would make a fine vtuber then, considering how much you enjoy doing that on the forumsLights wrote:

attacking church threads (or anything that gets spammed frequently, really) isn't the best choice because there is a chance of you creating something akin to the streisand effect, where by denouncing church threads you encourage those people to create more just to spite you
or maybe it is your intention to get OT filled with church threads? if it is carry on then, nothing to see here Salutations,
