ehh, even if threads are very high-effort and high-quality it doesn't mean that it will work out. Not to toot my own horn, but several of my high-effort projects crashed and burned and if you look at Patatitta's last thread people won't engage in an objectively good thread if they aren't interested in it.
Patatitta
thread craetion > high quality > active does not work, you can put a lot of effort in something and for it to completely flop

in my experience, the most active threads are either the most controversial or a a thread of varaible quality, that doesn't require much effort by part of the person reading it, stuff like, post here to know my opinion about you, free pfps, maybe also threads like the meow or awoo thread, where you just need to post awoo or meow

for example the comic thread was nearly a flop because no one wants to spend more than 15 seconds on a thread I guess, same with the OT map

r.i.p. ot comic ;w;

at least i got funny corne comic lol thx Patatitta

it's kinda ironic how everyone just goes "we want good quality thread!!!" and when one happens they just dont put the effort in

honestly patatitta's thread was wayyyyy too much to read to try to understand what the thread was about

sometimes people just dont wanna read 10+ paragraphs of a thread event they dont know if they would be interested in participating in or not
z0z
posting in ot is very low effort

you could probably expect more if everyone here actually did things on here but no

idk, all my older threads kinda followed the same style, and my previous thread actually did really good, I actually mentioned wanting to make this thread, and I got a thumbs up to actually make it, something that I hadn't done with any of my previous threads, and this is the one that by has flopped the hardest, which I think it's a bit of a shame since I actually have qualifications on the stuff i'm talking about and had a possible follow up thread

it's fine to not interact with a thread, sometimes you're not in the mood for it, but what I think it's a bit hypocritical is to ask for high quality thread, and then not putting the effort to actually interact with the threads when they appear, most of the time high quality threads tend to be very dense since there is so much stuff packed in a single thread (Not calling you out specifically, just, in general)

and I know that in no time someone will complain about the current meta of appreciation threads and about how it is low effort, which is very ironic, when there have been like 2 or 3, very different, high quality threads in the last week that all have flopped

it makes sense for my thread to kinda flop, that's what 80% of my threads do, in fact that 15% are mostly threads I had no emotinal connection to and I kinda just pushed, but the fact that multiple, different high quality threads failed, at the same time, that just sucks

OP matters, do a short tl;dr in the opening and then elaborate further in the thread. That way, no one is forced to read paragraphs of text and will instead get the general gist of what's your thread about.
Problem with too high-effort threads like Patatita's one is that they're kind of already done in a way, others don't have a meaningful way to contribute — you, the creator, already did the heavy lifting and they can either stand in awe or try to be as high-effort as you. See the problem? Most people do the latter only when affected by so-called strange moods, when they stop doing whatever they were doing because they were struck by a lightning of the greatest idea they had and they go climb that mountain.

I dont think this is true at all, at least this last thread was supposed to start disscusion, to search and share certain things, and even participate in a follow up, puzzle-like thread, a lot of lifting has made by me, right, but there is still A LOT of content, there was like 4 different things that you could respond that I thought of while making the thread

add a tldr?, the tittle and the fact that there was a poll should be enough indication IMO, you know i'm covering old stuff, there are chapters in big you can read, there are images that you can see scrolling quickly about what i'm talking, I dont think a TLDR would help, because you can alerady tell what the thread is about and exactly what i'm covering without reading more than 10 words

I wonder when's the last time I made a thread with tons of paragraphs in it, it's probably my talent thread which was half a year now? if you exlude 10000 post count I did recently. I wanted to try and spark discussion on the 10000 post one but it mostly ended up as reaction posts which is expected. Ironically kaarumi's thread about my 10000 post count got more discussion on it and the OP is mostly a bunch of pictures lmao.

I think why Patatitta's gay thread got more traction was probably because of the designed banners in each part, making it more appealing to read in digestable pieces and it's overall shorter than the last thread. Most users including myself don't wanna spend that much time on reading about a particular thing we have don't have much interest in.

That's more of a dialouge type of thing since I pretty much copy-pasted and slightly modified everything on the nene gospels. I wonder if people even read The Nene Mass and Nene Confession...
