Fellow denizens and others, welcome to the OT Egg Hunt! Now you must be wondering why we are doing an egg hunt in the middle of fall instead of April like normal people. I sometimes wonder that too, but let’s set that aside for now. There is a backstory at the bottom if you really need to know why, but trust me you don’t. What you want to know is how to participate in this event!

There are rumors that up to 62 eggs are hidden all across OT. Some are hidden in plain sight, some are hidden really well, and some impossibly well. No post is too old and every post is equally suspicious! Eggs can be found on posts by abraker, KatouMegumi, samx500, tad, eblf, and keremaru.

As you find eggs, their worth will be added to your total score. Each egg’s worth starts with 100 points, but as more people find the same eggs their worth will go down. The math is elementary, my dear denizens! Once you found an egg simply go to this form to submit your find:

This event will last for a month, giving you all plenty of time to find the eggs. There will be a few winners at the end for:

Highest score
Largest score from individual eggs
Most eggs found

and my personal favorite:

Most traps found

backstory

So it was another day at A-Breaking Laboratory and I was finishing up all the testing needed to roll out the top secret portal tech I was developing for so long. Yes, I finally -- almost -- mastered them portals thanks to the use of Keremaru’s advanced alien tech while aboard the Passion Orange Guava. Unfortunately Keremaru lended me the wrong dimension opening thingy and instead of it being a space-time rift gate it was a time-space rift gate. Ya know, instead of teleporting across space you end up teleporting across time.

So one thing led to another and the Easter Bunny from the future decided to jump through the portal and escape, but not before taking apart the machine and hiding various parts in those hidden eggs. That’s where I need you, denizens! Please help me find those eggs so that we can send the Easter Bunny back to the future. If we don’t there might be no Easter!

traps are various shenanigans that make you lost or make you think you found an egg when you have not

There are some fake eggs considered as traps. You will be able to tell them apart once you run into enough of them, and you will know they are fake since it will say in scoreboard you found a fake egg.

Number of those fake eggs that are found are one of the "losing wins"

Before someone finds the same egg and asks why their points changed: Your points will go down even if you already found the egg.

It was hard to judge how much an egg should be worth because we don't know how easy or hard our hides are. So it's been decided that their worth be adjusted as the game progresses. We actually got a spreadsheet calculating all this stuffs:

You guys won't find majority of eggs by just searching for the word "egg".

I really love Narumi Toa. Like, a lot. Like, a whole lot. You have no idea. I love her so much that it is inexplicable, and I'm ninety-nine percent sure that I have an unhealthy obsession. I will never get tired of installing Gentoo Linux with -o3 -march=native -flto optimization flags on an AMD Ryzen 9950X bare metal using a fleet of 8 same specced machines for distcc. It is my life goal to meet up her with her in real life and have her configure my arch install for me

My eggs are pretty hard I'll admit, but because they are hard they are also the most worth since few will find them. But I shall be clement and give you an hint as to where one of my egg may be found, but be warned that if you follow my hint, you shall walk straight into the lair of shit.
