I'd think that maybe if this weren't set up as a shelter for shitposting, this might not happen...
...but as a result it'd probably bleed into other forums.
Nonetheless, there isn't much we can realistically do, considering the low quality of most of what's here. This'll need to be a gradual improvement, though I'd probably be hard-pressed to see how that would happen.

It's always has been great not being subjected to the lame rules most of the forums are subjected to. That allows shitposting, but maybe we can harness their power for quality and power the OT machine! Just think of how many threads full of shit will suddenly receive potential quality. No thread needs to suffer, no more locking threads, no more wasted threads.
