01:12:209 (1,2,3) - since the bass sound youre following doesnt stop at the end of these sliders you could at least extend them to the red tick instead of just having the awkward space in between (also applies to the other sliders like these)

01:24:584 (2,3,4,5) - imo you should make the spacing here just as low as 01:23:459 (4,5,6,7) and 01:26:459 (3,4,5,6) because there isnt much of a reason for the bigger spacing

02:05:834 - you seem to try and map as many blue tick rhythms as you can with the hats and stuff so i think mapping these 1/4s would fit well

Otherwise maybe the shapes are too difficult for players that actually play easy, they have trouble following reverse arrows too and there's a lot of those.

Hello, I have some concerns on mapset!

mithew's Easy
  1. 00:38:459 (4) - That is a slider-shape I would not recommend in an easy, because we don't really see the shape of it, so it kinda acts like an holding circle. It will be better to "open it" while keeping your main idea. Do the same thing for 00:44:459 (4) - and all the similar ones on the second half of the map.
  2. 00:48:209 - 01:54:209 - 02:36:209 - You could maybe force these breaks to be starting on these timestamps? That would be neat.
  3. 03:04:709 (4) - Considering the curve of the last slider, you should move this slider to make it follow the flow of it instead of making a perfect straight line from the end of the previous slider to this one. For this instance, just move this slider a little bit more to the right.
  4. 03:09:959 - Coming here, I believe you can use a better rhythm, because I feel you are skipping something. Maybe you could do something similar to what's shown below, which is something to 02:57:209 (2,3,4) - :
  5. 03:24:584 (1) - Delete the reverse arrow of this slider to make the difficulty finish on 03:24:959 - like every diffs (except Lucas, which I am also asking the same.. lol)

For an example, delete the new combo to 00:01:709 (1) - , 00:04:709 (1) - and 00:07:709 (1) - and since 00:05:459 (2) - has a different sounds from the other two sliders, you could be adding a new combo to this one.
  2. 00:12:771 (2) - Missing a clap for consistency.

I'm sorry but what's wrong with this? the way I map is by following both vocals and instruments at the same time, spacing emphasis is a combination of both of them too hence why I think I can copy paste this, to me it's completely fine as I think it perfectly fits the 2nd part too even though the vocals are different as everything follows the instruments nicely.

While I made a comparison with the Easy difficulty only, you should actually look to the overall mapset. Normal is the only difficulty that has three full breaks, and I believe it makes it undermapped. My point still stands, and it would be better to make these minimally consistent to have these sections mapped.

The issue with this copy-pasted section is that, the first section, you are emphasizing vocals with the spacing of the objects and with the hitsounds. Coming to the second part, which is pasted, the intonations are not the same, considering that you are following both the vocals and the instruments on the second part while you were only following the vocals on the first part, and since the player got used to the first part for the vocals, it is confusing to see the same part again, but not emphasizing the stronger parts of the second section.

I keep both in mind when doing spacing, I honestly don't see the problem with it lol it's not like "just so you can copy paste a section" as frankly I really don't care about saving time or anything, I did it because I think it fits well. just because I say I follow both doesn't mean I do it everywhere either, e.g in the kiai I have bigger spacing 02:50:271 (2,3) - here for the kick in instrumentals and big spacing here 03:06:209 (1,2,3,4,5) - because of the vocals being stronger. I follow what I think has more impact in the song at that point

basically 99% of the spacing in the part mentioned is based on the instruments which is why I think it fits nicely in the 2nd section too as the instrumentals are the same rhythm wise, I basically disregarded the vocal there

-- also sorry if it comes off as rude but this is my thoughts on it and I think there's no need for more people to come in to try and prove someone else's point when I could just talk to 1 person instead of having to explain the same thing to multiple people. thanks for your input though

Hello!

One of your beatmaps was recently referred to us for mediation following a Beatmap Nominator veto. The details of the veto can be found here.

After discussion amongst members of the Quality Assurance Team Disqualification Branch, we have decided to uphold the veto. The reasons for this decision are stated briefly below:

  1. 28% of the Normal difficulty are breaks even though there is a drumlayer starting at 01:00:209 - and 02:06:209 - . The large amount of downtime can feel very underwhelming for the player.
  2. 02:17:084 (1) - to 02:36:209 (1) - being a copy-paste of 01:11:084 (1) - 01:30:115 (12) on the highest difficulty is unfitting because both sections are significantly different which creates a severe lack of contrast. The first section is following a mixture of beat and vocals in the map (regarding rhythm and placement emphasis), while the second one only follows beat. But the copy-paste makes some of the patterns (those more impacted by vocals) not feel connected to the music in the second part. Examples:

    - 01:21:584 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - the large amount of jumps here suddenly compared to the low spacing before only makes sense to emphasize the more articulated vocals, vs:
    - 02:27:584 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - in the later section which does not fit due to the beat still being the same as in the previous measures (and not following the new vocal layer either)

    - 02:27:584 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - in the later section which does not fit due to the beat still being the same as in the previous measures (and not following the new vocal layer either)

Hello! thank you very much for looking at this and somehow trying to find reasons to keep the veto on here by deciding you know better than the mapper themselves what they mapped to.

that said, I did remap a few parts in the section along with fixing the stuff in normal as I thought letting this map die for such a stupid fucking reason is not worth it. hope it's okay now!!

unrelated to the veto stuff, did you ever consider mapping 03:14:459 (5,6,7,8) - 03:15:959 (5,6,7,8) - etc as doubles instead of circle+triple? the song has some really clear blue tick emphasis and the red tick don't have anything "special" since the hihats are on each 1/4 tick

would be really simple to change and make the unique rhythm in the song stand out much more

  3. 01:54:209 - this part has severe spacing problems like uhh... the song slows down, you go to pattern based mapping - which is fine - but it's huge af and contrasts what the song is providing in this section, especially jumps from 01:54:771 (2,3,1) - 01:56:271 (2,3,1) - 01:58:334 (3,1) - 01:59:271 (2,3,1) - 02:00:771 (2,3) - 02:06:209 (1,2) - 02:08:271 (2,3,1) - 02:13:334 (3,1) - are like super huge for the only reason of some symmetric pattern
  4. 02:24:209 - you kind of map vocals and fill the rest in with uhh idk what actually, i think if you were mapping vocals you should be mapping 02:26:271 - and the 3/4 for 02:24:209 (1,2,3) - way more clearly - right now you have like this super obvious vocal focus wit hthe reverse sliders and super unfitting filler rhythm thrown in - i think making it more clear what you're following is going to be easier to comprehend and wil lfeel more satisfying to play for this section
  5. 03:13:709 - that you just do the same thing as you did in the section before the kiai (which ironically the Extra now is vetoed for by the QAT but this diff isnt lul) is kind of lame? like you bring nothing new and you dont even do something remotely more interesting than the part you had previously (and the previous point also applies to it)

Just commenting on how insanely terrifying the idea is on setting health loss to 5 on the easiest difficulty. Basically, if you miss one slider, you lose at least half of the health from your bar, and we have to keep in our minds that noobs are going to make waaaaay more misses and combo breaks than just a single one for the whole combo section, they are learning the basics of the game, for Lord's sake. Then HP on Normal is set to 3. What the hell happened there? All I wanted to do was to play some modern American pop map and then I noticed that in the qualified section...

BTW just a suggestion but why not just plain AR6.0 for Normal diff? I am sure it will fit just perfect + the difference from AR6 to AR8 to another difficulty is going to be nicer... and maybe lower OD on Easy, just because. xd
