In singleplayer it is usually boring, though local multiplayer can be fun if played strategically till you ended in the End world.
Or alternatively, playing in multiplayer servers would be fun.

I used to play Minecraft periodically when I want some vietnam flashbacks (mostly because of the awfully designed buildings my friends and I did). But it's fun if you have something to do, and that's it.

Now they are adding llamas and generated mansions to Minecraft soon

Though with new recent blocks, I'm pretty sure you can add some cool additions to it.

regarding the post above I played on large communities only because of the variety of unique gamemodes (hence the servers I mentioned), something that small servers don't really have.

There is a way to bypass the blacklisting by using the specific launcher but according to the launcher creator, they do not support cracked servers.whymeman wrote:

Though I do notice some server do suffer due to EULA and some of the EULA requirements are bit too unnecessary such as 'no voting for non-cosmetic rewards' because they said voting requires you to pay in time and their literal meaning of 'time is money'.
