Very good very good!
Just wanted to let ya' know about some stuff.
I recomend playing around with ALL the tools you can find in the editors thing.
Make sure someone can try using double time for Easy, Normal and maybe Hard. It usually depends on how hard you want it, and how fast the BPM is.
Make sure someone can try using hardrock for easy, normal and hard too.
Hidden and flashlight is ALWAYS possible for any diff, it just takes time to master it. :)
Remember to always get inspiration from other beatmaps! You see what other people do, if people like that, then if you have it, then they must like yours too? There's a wide range of Mapping Techniques. It's stuff you usually see in other beatmaps. Such as a stacking stream, jumps, slider art etc. Mapping Techniques can be found here:
http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/viewforum.php?f=61 It's very useful if you're new to beatmapping.
There's this poll there were you can vote what you think about them. When you've done that you can see what other people think. If there's a lot of people who likes Cutting Sliders for example, then you should be using cutting sliders! ;)
General questions can be found here:
http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/viewforum.php?f=56And remember! Don't just play around with osu!, go around and look for cools things on this website too! It's awful lot to learn about beatmaps, so you better be learnin', y'know what I'm sayin'? ;D
Other sounds can be added through storyboard.
You might already know, but there's something called "storyboard" where pictures, sprites, sound and actions are used in a story for the beatmap. Example of that can be these two beatmaps:
http://osu.ppy.sh/s/15375 and
http://osu.ppy.sh/s/6818To find beatmaps with storyboard, just check the little box called "Has storyboard" next to the Language box in the Beatmap Listning.
Storyboards looks very cool and replaces video in many surcomstances.
Sound in Storyboard can be shown here:

STARED!! Kudosu me for this please! :D
When you have read my shitty advices you can always ask other people! Go to mod request and such in the chat channels in osu!.
Download new and good rating beatmaps which you can get ideas from. If a beatmaps has a good rating, it means people like that beatmap so you need to make it look more like that beatmap. Y'know what I'm saying? Get inspirating. Play a lot of different NEW, GOOD beatmaps. If you don't play Hard yourself, you can always start playing hard and learn more about it.
Let someone else make a difficulty too! Ask a good beatmapper to make a insane for example! :D
If you like what I've told ya', then thank me by giving me a kudosu and take a look at my beatmap: viewtopic.php?t=42141 , Star it, mod it! Anything helpful! :D This is all up to you. Just giving you the information.
