And after many months of waiting, we finally have a new build upon us. I won't make any excuses for the lack of updates, but am also very proud of the stability we have experienced over the last months! This update brings quite a few often-requested game features, and incorporates many new mapping features (bumping the osu! beatmap file format to v8) courtesy of MetalMario201. Please try an make use of the new functionality without abusing it!
Online:
(+) Added support for the IRC /away command
(*) Improved chat tab display when multiple rows are present.
(+) Highlights in chat are logged to a separate tab.
(+) osu! remembers the last active channel before quit, and makes it active again on restart.
Mapping:
(+) Custom slider speeds between 2x and 1/2x may be used. Slider tick rate behaviour has been made more intuitive to accommodate this. (A maximum of three slider speeds for ranked maps still applies)
(+) The speed of approach circles can now be independently picked from Overall Difficulty.
(+) Added manual adjustment of the countdown's timing, for situations where it is offbeat.
(+) Break transitions can now be moved around in the timeline.
Gameplay:
(*)Vastly improved slider rendering under OpenGL. pulled due to problems on some hardware
(*) Fixed osu! sometimes using the wrong hit sampleset for certain objects. (i46)
(*) On new maps with a compound time tick rate (3 or 6), drumrolls are played in compound timing.
Editor:
(*) Timing panel usability improvements.
(*) Fixed first hit in test mode having huge weight in accuracy calculations.
(+) The metronome beep rate can be doubled (or tripled) by holding down Ctrl.
(+) Reload last editor mode after returning from test mode.
(+) Storyboard efficiency is now shown as a counter. Refer to SB Load to make sure your storyboard isn't drawing too much.
Misc:
(+) Added support for .osk (skin) extraction.
(+) Your display's native resolution is now offered in Options. Invalid resolutions will now be hidden.
