osu!'s Second Singing Collab - Nanairo

From the organizers of the first singing collab comes another medley singing for the brave and the soulless! We're going to get a bunch of osu! players and make them sing LIKE THEY'RE FAMOUS OR SOMETHING! The medley? NANAIRO!

For now, we're looking for singers. That's why we're holding auditions for those interested to try out. They must choose from the audition pieces we've selected (for professional reasons) and sing them out so we can decide if they get in or not. Adding the part itself in the audition piece is optional, but it'll help for us to figure out if they have what it takes!

Here are the audition pieces:
  1. Bad Apple!! feat nomico - Ora Tokyo Sa Iguda - Rainbow Girl (02:24 - 02:56)
  2. Celluloid - Shoushitsu - Lion (optional) (04:14 - 04:55 <05:18>)
  3. Tamashii no Refrain - World is Mine - Beloved Tomboyish Girl (06:22 - 07:18)
  4. Tewi! ~Eien Tewi ver.~ - Meltdown AND/OR Ojamajo Carnival (08:09 - 08:29 and/or 08:49)

We're not in a rush here, so we'll probably declare a deadline when sufficient approved singers have been listed.

.... you're ganna split up the parts and have each singer sing one section, no...?
I'd prefer you do what the niconico chorus does, have each person sing the whole song, then mix them together...

course since I can't sing, I shouldn't say anything... -flees-

For the last collab, each person picked parts that they wanted and it ended up with 1-4 people per song (except for like...gacha gacha cute which had everyone). Plus, it took almost half a year to get everyone's parts; there's no WAY it'd be possible to get everyone to sing the entire 11 minutes. >.>; (Well maybe one or two people orz)

Derekku: A bit shaky when trying to hit the high notes. Otherwise, wonderful. Try not to go into a "slide" when moving from note to note; hit the notes as they are. Approved.

Thanks! It was a bit tricky trying to sing late at night with everyone yelling DEREK WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP, but I'll practice more for the real thing. :Y

I listened to that and I know what you mean. The Nico Nico Chrous sounds all over the place when they sing that.

What I recommended, is just singing the lyrics. Forget about the video, just think of it as a proper song.

It's on the video neo@lex posted. However, in Nanairo, it's sped up a bit, so you'll have to also be a bit faster at pronouncing this. It will take a while before you do, however. I even had to spend a week.

neo@lex - Same old voice, different pitch. Kind of crazy-sounding by Ora Tokyo Sa Iguda, but there isn't any definite timing for that song anyway. Hits the notes pretty well. Just practice the pronounciation.Approved.

Sorry for the slightly weird pronunciation, I don't know what happened.. Especially for the messed up "Watashi".. Which became something like "Wahrashi"... Oh well, we all make speech errors, don't we? I also apologize for the failed syncing. Audacity is GAY D:<

I guess I can't give any definate responses yet, but I'll say what I thought, and I'll attempt to retrieve vytalibus next time he comes online.

animask: It sounds a lot like you're supressing your voice, which ultimately makes it hard to make out what you're singing. It'd be worth redoing when there's no one else around or something, so you can sing at full volume.
Lilyko: Quality seems better than last time, and you still sound like some kind of IRL Mikuru, which is awesome.
lhojland: Sounds pretty good at the beginning, but the desynced backing is too distracting so I can't really hear you. Can you submit just the voice? Also, use http://up.ppy.sh.

lhojland: I tried listening through your audition amidst terrible syncing... Needs a lot of work on pronunciation. Also sounds a bit too soft... Can you resubmit it with just the voice, and make it louder? Withheld.
animask: I'll agree with neo and say your voice sounds... muffled for some reason. I suggest you re-record your audition when you're able to sing at your full potential (i.e. not nervous, not embarrassed by someone around you).Withheld.
Lilyko: Much better than Kumikyoku. Still a bit on the soft side, so you'd better move it up a notch when we're starting to compile our records. Approved.

Second audition time!
Without instrumental this time. I intended to do 3-4 this time in different pitches/cute-ish or normal/etc but oh well. It's 04:28 in the morning. I'm too tired. And lazy.

lhojland: Needs work on the timing, but we'll get on that during the rehearsals. An improvement from the last attempt. Neo says your tone and voice are your highlights, so we'll work on hitting the notes correctly in the process. Accepted

Quality's pretty bad, there's distortion all over the place, see if you can fix that in your settings or something. The very beginning of Tamashii no Refrain is out of tone, but that's probably fine. Pretty badass singing in general, and good pitch transitions when the songs change. Timing is fine, you could probably go up a few octaves in tone though. Still, the only real problem is the audio quality in general. Accepted.

I'm sorry, I failed on the super high notes in Shoushitsu. I had a cold some time ago and I'm still recovering from it. Until the singing starts, I bet I'll be able to sing normally again.

Oh Larto. Hope you get well soon.

1 out of the 4 people Derek asked in Skype to do this. I couldn't hit the high notes because my voice would screw everytime, but I can hit the high notes in Shoushitsu and World Is Mine. (In fact, I can sing that whole song in high pitch.)

I probably will rerecord.

And prepare for the worst.

There's a little glitch in the middle I didn't notice when I listened to it over again! I hope you can ignore it! I sang with the Nico Nico Douga medley for most of the clip so it should be in time!!
