Why do 90% of people in the Introductions Forums say hello as a title?

90% of people in the introduction forum literally said, "Hi" "Hello" "Hey". We need to get more original than this to introduce people.

Instead of "Hi!" say...

"This is my first time posting. I'm [Username]!"

Instead of "Hello!" say...

"It's [Username]! I'm new here."

Instead of "Heya!" say...

"Introducing the new iPhone 15. Buy now!"

So, that's the gist of this. H is an overrated letter in the introductions forum. Don't use it.

I think most people are kind of scared of standing out to much when first introducing themselves, so they just go with the flow. Pretty sad ngl, a creative title can tell someone a lot about you.

What if your username has the letter H

Why do people in the Introductions Forums say anything at all?

No, it doesn't make sense. If you stand out, you get noticed. If you don't stand out, you don't get noticed. Unless you have like a super flashy username or something like that, no one will see you across the sea of "Hello"s in the introduction forum.

It's common sense.

Ehh, a bit excessive. Don't make them want to distance from you. But I will be using something a little more casual that's similar to this. Thanks for inspiration!

What's the very first thing you say to anyone you meet for the first time IRL?

You have your answer.

I came from a forum where introductions were highly discouraged, even closed and deleted. You were expected to just jump in and start posting. So I never ever did one here.

Based.

The vast majority of people who write in introductions never show up again.

When I was in elementary school (and presumably when the rest of you were), we were brainwashed by teachers to participate in this thing called 'social interaction' with classmates. This continued precisely until the tenth grade (or sooner) where your time on the internet became greater than the time spent IRL.

This was evidently the case for everyone in the uni seminar I was in last week. We didn't know one another and we were suddenly forced to have a conversation and produce something valuable out of it. The social awkwardness was very apparent.

Fortunately, it took one person (that being me, huge mistake I know) to break the ice and get ourselves to introduce one another before we came up with our answer.

this

this is the correct way (coincidentally, i also come from a forum that did this)

like why even have an introduction forum when it's just going to fill with people solely wanting to increase their post count anyway. almost every forum i've been to that had an Introductions section was always filled by the typical copy/paste spammer (saying just Welcome on every fucking thread)

the next OT legend could just waltz in here and start posting like nobody's business

No, it's not the one reading this sentence.

"OT legend" is mega retarded
