Welcome

YUGEN is a dark/dim minimalist skin focused purely on gameplay and aesthetics

This skin includes ALL game modes

This is not what I expected to happen in 2024! 🔥🔥🔥

One suggestion I found so far: Try adding a ranking-retry, taken from the pause-retry but cutting off the empty canvas so players won't misclick it.

i was curious about this but kept finding conflicting info about skin versions breaking it, if this works on latest i'll push an update for it later

edit: just realized i forgot hit0@2x.png too.. oops

EDIT2: added ranking-retry.png and hit0@2x.png, everything should be in order now!

i know this is a gameplay focused skin but any chance for transparentish versions of the mod icons just like original skin?

maybe, they were originally transparent but i ran into readability issues with the ranking screen so i made them opaque instead

just pushed another minor update to fix NoteBodyStyle for mania (i forgor)

if you don't want to re-download you can simply add:

NoteBodyStyle: stretch

to every Mania Keys section in skin.ini

Really love the new refreshing look on this newer version!!

If I'm gonna be honest though, it would be cool if you could maybe add a folder to move the pause buttons to the center of the screen instead. Other than that, Amazing redesign overall and I'm glad to see you returning and blessing us with your skinning presence! :D

edit: if it isn't too much to ask for, could you maybe also make some more hitsounds for the menu since I noticed some parts of the menu still had default sounds. Something very quiet or a little clicky might do the trick (in my opinion).

don't worry i have a small v1.1 update coming in a few days that will add some more options for customizing the skin, this included! don't think i'm done just yet! 😈

as for your edit, what sounds specifically are missing? i used all the original yugen sounds minus the back button sound so i'm unsure what could be missing

if you cut some space on the left of the pause-back, pause-continue, and pause-retry to be 1024x70, it fits on the screen without clipping when you hover over the option, more or less matching the aristia location. I know the original skin was this way but it sort of bothered me so this was the solution.

other than that this skin frags, i will be using this.

yoo this is a great remake! is it just me or is the lighting/particle effects on mania bigger than they are in the original version? how can i make them smaller?

It's just to make sorting skins much easier. Yugen is still one of the most memorable skins despite where it is headed.
