To be fair this particular message was quite sweet of her, but yeah it's pretty cringe. I think she's embraced that though.Winnyace wrote:

Nah. The message itself is lovely. The "writing skibidi speeches to be read out in our nation's capital" part is cringe.Ymir wrote:

Either way, no one has beaten Hillary Clinton when it comes to cringe ass shit.

How do you guys know so many random people? I only know someone if their level of fame is like Elon Musk, I don't even know who the president of the United States is now (I just know it's not Trump), maybe I should use other social media other than OT!... but I don't want to.
there is a difference between not being on social media and being out of touch with like the newsBehrauder wrote:

What do you mean? Don't people find out about the news through social media? I can't think of another place where I would know about her existence, for example. It's not something I would find out about on YouTube.Patatitta wrote:

Social media. Reddit, Twitter, YouTube, etc. If you don't want to use other social media platforms, don't. You're honestly saving yourself.Behrauder wrote:

don't you have conversations with people?, don't you see your family looking at the news or something?, don't you even glimpse any other website other than OT?, honestly, it seems harder to be completely clueless than totally informedBehrauder wrote:

Certainly, if I watched or read the newspaper I would know who the president of the United States is, but what people know always goes well beyond that (for example, knowing who this woman is, as well as a ton of semi-celebrities, etc), it seems like magic.
It's possible he only knows things regarding his country, not what an Australian politician did for clout, in second language for him.Patatitta wrote:

you missunderstand me, I don't mean this specific case, I mean like in general what they said of not knowing what the current US president isWinnyace wrote:

Also, quite frankly, this isn't news. An Australian politician, speaking in Gen Z slang, has such little importance for anybody outside of Australia, and even inside, that it isn't worth reporting on for more than 60 seconds.
About things from my country, I know a few things that I see people talking about, and they talk about it because they saw it on social media, and I end up knowing it because I was there, just as happened today, in the case of the Australian. When I say that I only found out about it from them, they are surprised, because they say it's "everywhere".Patatitta wrote:
