I was recently made aware that some people keep their washing machines in their kitchen or their bathroom. For me it's always been in a laundry room or a small area that was similar to a laundry room but not exactly a room.

both bathroom and laundry room, our actual washing machine is in the bathroom and our dryer is in our laundry room
At my parent's it was in a utility room but now I live in a small apartment so it's in the bathroom.
