HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE FIFTH ITERATION OF MRC!
I started this tournament in 2019 with the intention of introducing a couple of friends to the tournament scene for fun, but year by year the interest has grown drastically and this year we have a total of 92 staff members. That is honestly far beyond what I had imagined for the scope of my little Canadian group of friends. so thank you so much to everyone involved.
mrc5 is badged, but remember that the mission of this tournament is to provide a friendly environment for tournament beginners and make some solid memories. So NO TOXICITY!
So without further ado, let's dive into the details of mrc5.
There will be no major changes to the mrc tournament format this year, however the following twists will continue to take place:
• Top 100 global players may only team up with 4-digits, but anybody outside of the top 100 may team with each other.
• There will be no HD pool.
• Players will have the freedom to take HD on any map in the pool for no extra points.
• There will be a force-mod pool, on which one player is forced to NM or HD-only while the other must take HR/HDHR.
• EZ may only be used on FM picks to replace the NM/HD player, and it will have a custom score multiplier on a per map basis.
In addition, the following fundamental rules will continue:
• The tournament is restricted to users with a Canadian flag on their profile or users currently living in Canada.
• It is a 2v2 tournament with teams of 3. There is a channel dedicated to finding teammates in the Discord server.
• The bracket style will be double elimination, with qualifier seeding.
• The scoring system will be Score V2.
