Easy]
- For the parts where you use normal-clap. I really think a custom clap would work better. I try to find something, but I'm not really sure what your preference is. Here's the one I think fits well
http://puu.sh/2BJus. Increase volume a bit if it's too quiet.
This is the highest volume you can make it without clipping, but slight clipping is normally not noticeable from what I see. 00:21:631 - 00:39:159 - I really think you should add some additional to follow the piano (add whistle on almost all the stanza here except for 00:22:979, 00:33:765 and places where there are already whistle)
00:25:675 (3) - remove whistle from end if follow above
00:36:462 (5) - ^
00:39:159 (3,1,2,3,1) - For the finish sound here, I prefer if this sound was used
http://puu.sh/2BJ94. Be sure to change the timing point to use custom hitsound. And if you prefer using drum for other parts, just set tiiming point to default hitsound. I feel the drum-finish is too loud and the tone of the drum sound doesn't sound correct to music to me.
01:11:518 (2) - Whistle on begin and end for a cool effect with vocal? Or some custom hitsound if you want to differentiate the whistle that follow piano and whistle used for other purposes.
01:14:215 (3) - Whistle at end if you did above
01:16:911 (2) - ^
01:19:608 (3) - ^
01:22:305 (2) - Same as 01:11:518
01:26:013 - Hmm feel like there should be something here because 01:12:529 (3) - 01:15:226 (4) - 01:17:923 (3) - 01:20:619 (4) - etc. I notice vocal gets a bit quiet here, but the drum rhythm is still continuing here and the vocal is still doing the accent effect on this part. But maybe if you want to variate the rhythm, do two 1/1 slider instead?
http://puu.sh/2BJFO01:27:698 (2) - and 01:33:091 (2) - I don't mention adding whistle at these two parts since vocal sounds different here, there doesn't seems to be a clear accent on either begin or end of those sliders anymore. Or like 01:43:878 (3) - the accent is more on the red tick.01:34:440 (1) - Expected whistle at end
02:32:080 - I prefer a note here over 02:32:754 (3) - The most prominent sound here is vocal and he emphasized this part, or it sounds a lot more accented then 02:32:754 so I think put note on 02:32:080, remove from 02:32:754 is better.
02:37:810 (2) - Move 1 white tick back give a nice emphasis effect to 02:38:147 (3) - when the drums play due to the 1/1 pause to this note.
02:40:507 (2) - ^
03:02:754 (2) - Should be soft sampleset/auto. Perhaps put whistle if you find it too quiet here.
03:04:777 (3) - Hmm I feel like there should be whistle at end
03:10:170 (3) - ^
02:52:642 - 03:10:844 - After some consideration, I feel hitsound is a little empty. I suggest putting whistle on the stanza to be with the piano and along with the two hitsound suggestions above. 02:53:990 (2) - no whistle at begin 02:59:383 (2) - no whistle at begin 03:04:777 (3) - no whistle at begin 03:10:170 (3) - No whistle at begin. I got a bit confused, so maybe some mistakes, just take this as an idea, I feel this part would sound nice if whistle was added.
03:24:327 (3) - Prefer no clap here
03:39:833 (3) - Whistle at begin
03:45:226 (3) - ^
Just some whistle suggestions.
[
Normal]
00:24:327 (1) - Expected whistle with the piano (white tick) and not on red tick
00:35:114 (1) - ^
00:40:507 (1,2,3,1) - Same as Easy regarding drum finish sounds.
00:45:900 (1) - Prefer no whistle (and auto-sampleset) here. Since this rhythm repeats, if you change this, change for others.
To be honest, I'm not fond of the drum whistle here, prefer the hitsounding to be like Easy or use a custom sound for drum-whistle.
01:10:170 - 01:22:305 - Same whistle suggestions as Easy. Put whistles where there aren't drum finish. Also I notice you decide to use drum-finish, perhaps do this for Easy too.
01:43:204 (3,4,5,6) - Hmm, I would do this here
http://puu.sh/2BKmJ. The 3/2 slider to show the change in vocal or in other words, follow vocal.
01:46:911 (4) - New combo? Also perhaps ctrl+H this and put in same spot. I think it's looks nicer when point at (3)
02:09:496 (1) - Looking at where 02:08:822 (3) - is pointing, I expected this to be stack on 02:08:147 (1) -
02:31:743 - 02:49:945 - I prefer if this was done in a more 1/1 way. The low ar and 0.6x slider velocity doesn't feel right to this kind of rhythm to me. Like here 02:33:091 (3) - , add repeat, same for 02:39:664 (2) - 02:45:057 (2) - 02:49:271 (3) - Just a quick idea, if you don't like this, that's fine, but I feel the rhythm can be tweaked a bit for more intuitive play and better flow.
03:03:428 (1) - Prefer ctrl+H to point same way as 03:02:417 (2) - , if not I prefer a different shape to be used here e.g. rotate 90 degrees.
03:04:777 (1,2) - Hmm prefer if slider is done here. And I think I mod the hitsound for this bit in Easy already so apply some suggestions from there here if you followed them.
I'm a bit bothered by the rhythm at 02:31:743 and not too fond of drum whistle here.
[
Hard]
- Test play from 00:44:552 and look at how the stack 00:45:057 (2,4) - looks and other patterns further along here. I recommend lowering the value of stack leniency. I tried 5 and it looked much better already.
Begin - Add some whistle on some of the stanza feel nicer to me, like every 2nd stanza so here 00:21:631 then 00:24:327 , etc.
00:20:956 (2) - Prefer if whistle is added here and prefer this to be stacked with previous slider or slider move to here to stack it.
00:35:282 (2,3) - Prefer if whistle is removed at end of (2) and put on begin of (3). Remove the whistle at end of (3).
00:36:462 (4) - Not fond of how this is not the same shape as (3), prefer if this is ctrl+h and put at same spot
00:39:833 (5,6) - Prefer slider first then hit circle to help catch the rhythm change from vocal to drums.
00:50:956 (3) - Nazi, end point 1 grid right, better alignment with previous slider
01:01:743 (3) - Prefer this to be shorten by 1/2 and add a circle where the slider used to end. I always expect to click something on 01:03:513 because this is where the drum rhythm change (look at Insane to be extra clear what I meant). When it's like this, I always miss the hit circles after.
01:06:968 (4) - Jump and add hit circle afterward feel better to me.
http://puu.sh/2BL87 If you really want to leave a pause, then I prefer if you do a 1/1 slider starting on 01:06:799. The vocal is more prominent then the drums here imo and if you want to follows drum, I feel you should do a jump to show the change in rhythm.
01:16:069 (2) - x:136 y:256 nicer blanket for me.
01:25:844 (4) - I'm fine with no jump here since you did a transition from 1/1 to 1/2 rhythm here 01:28:541 (6,7) - Prefer the flow when like this
http://puu.sh/2BLc9. Adjust position of (1,2) so it stack with (7).
01:37:136 (1) - Rotate 10 degree clock wise, selection center, looks nicer to me.
01:41:687 (2,3,4) - Prefer bigger spacing here
01:43:878 (1,2) - Slider first then hit circle make more sense to me, be sure to space note properly before refusing
http://puu.sh/2BLio01:53:990 (2) - Prefer stacked on (3)
01:55:338 (5) - ^
01:56:687 (2) - ^, fix spacing afterward, reason is vocal > drum transition which I explain in a suggestion above so stack to make the focus change more oblivious.
03:20:282 (2) - ^ applies to following patterns, perhaps change sliders to hit circles here to variate a bit.
Prefer if you change spacing when you follow drums on a part where vocal is more prominent like if i listen at 03:31:069 (2) - I feel this should be a slider so having to hit another note afterward always feel awkward to me, but a change in spacing like stacking makes me think, "hmm.. maybe the rhythm is change here" and focus more. Definitely consider lowering stack leniency, the overlaps caused due to the stacking doesn't look nice.
[
Shooting Stars]
00:20:619 (2,3,4) - Not fond of this rhythm here is not very clear, or some notes are on the blue ticks. So I prefer a compressed spaced stream here to be honest
http://puu.sh/2BLEi. 0.4x spacing.
00:31:406 (3,4,5) - ^
00:36:799 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Here. the vocal has a more clear 1/2 rhythm so I'm fine with this, but the two above parts doesn't00:37:642 (6) - Not really fond of this to be honest, due to this, I expected that the rhythm change to 1/1. I prefer spacing to be kept here and just jump on the slider 00:37:810 (1) -
01:01:743 (5) - x:252 y:204, jump feel too big for me and the vocal is doing an echo effect and as an echo get softer and softer, lower spacing gives a nice effect here.
01:06:125 (1,2) - Awesome places for hit circle jumps imo. Something like this.
01:09:327 (3) - Try placing at x:284 y:356?
01:11:181 (5,6) - Jump to 01:11:518 (1) - feel nice so like this?
http://puu.sh/2BLVl01:15:226 (9,10,11) - Keep the flow going by spacing it out?
01:17:754 (5) - Stack on 01:16:406 (5) - ?
01:25:675 (3) - Like the lyric say, "call you(it) back" to 01:25:001 (1) - ?
http://puu.sh/2BM2b01:56:013 (1) - Since you did jump at places like 01:53:316 (1) - I expected higher spacing for this note.
02:38:484 (1) - Stack on 02:38:147 (2) - for fun cursor dancing time? Adjust spacing of following notes if this is done.
03:31:743 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Jump every two notes seems better so e.g. jump on (1), keep spacing on (2), jump on (3) etc. Quick idea
http://puu.sh/2BMdxFor ending bit, something like this
SPOILER03:36:462 (3) - Add a whistle on the start.
03:36:799 (4) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:37:810 (4) - Add a whistle.
03:38:147 (6) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:39:159 (3) - Add a whistle on the start.
03:39:496 (4) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:40:507 (4) - Add a whistle.
03:40:844 (6) - Remove the whistle on the end
03:41:855 (3) - Add a whistle.
03:42:192 (5) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:43:878 (1) - Add a finish and remove the whistle on the start. (drum sampleset)
03:44:383 (2) - Add a whistle.
03:44:552 (3) - Add a whistle on the start
03:44:889 (4) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:45:900 (4) - Add a whistle.
03:46:237 (6) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:47:249 (3) - Add a whistle on the start.
03:47:586 (4) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:48:597 (4) - Add a whistle.
03:49:102 (7) - Remove the whistle.
03:49:945 (3) - Add a whistle.
03:50:282 (5) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:51:293 (4) - Add a whistle.
03:51:631 (6) - Remove the whistle on the end.
03:52:642 (3) - Add a whistle.
03:52:979 (5) - Remove the whistle on the end.
Some nice idea and jumps were pretty fun to play, but unsure about some parts (mainly at kiai), I can catch the jump just fine, but it feel off to the music to me, don't have any ideas about what to do through. Maybe if on the stanza it was always a 1/1 slider with a jump (Only when music does the rhythm like at 00:53:990 (1,1) - I find the other parts fine), maybe it'll feel better? Well not sure, just see what other modders think.
I feel the map just need some tweaks here and there, I won't be too strict with my kudosu's. Song is so long, sorry if I give some weird suggestions here and there.
Have a star good luck!
