New chat features are the main highlight of this build, along with major Taiko mode improvements, a revamped multiplayer lobby and all-round enhancements and bug-fixes. Enjoy and leave feedback in this thread as always :).

2009-03-09 (b622)
Online Functionality:
(+) Added chat "foreign character" and "offensive language" filtering options. Both disabled by default.
(+) Revamp of channel management. Can add and remove channel tabs, leave channels etc. Channels are saved on exit and rejoined automatically.
(+) Added user panel locking toggle to extended chat.
(+) Can use chat features while submitting.
(*) Fixed /chat and other commands not working correctly for usernames containing spaces.
(*) Moved IME entry to a more appropriate location.

Multiplayer:
(+) Lobby filtering options.
(+) Avatars are now displayed in the lobby, along with more game/player details.

Gameplay:
(+) Taiko online ranking test. Please note that the first week will be experimental, and scores will probably be wiped at the end of the first week (once-off).
(+) HUGE taiko improvements. Authentic scoring, new display elements and more. This is still not finalised and more will be coming in the next week before official taiko rankings.
(+) Added keyboard control for pause menu. Works with Taiko, CtB and arrow key bindings.
(*) Changed '!!','!' cutoffs to match O/X. Slight adjustment to cutoff point (now 50% instead of 62.5%).
(*) Misses are hidden in relax mod.

Interface
(+) Added shortcut keys to special mode selection menu.
(+) PageUp/PageDown or Left/Right arrows now skip 10 songs at a time on song select.
(*) Audio controls are available in lobby, osu!direct, options menus.
(*) Progress pie behaves slightly differently in lead-in time.

Misc
(+) Added maintenance option to force folder permissions.
(+) Added maintenance option to remove unused avatars from local cache.
(*) Improved Vista UAC permission handling.
(*) Added better checking for audio filenames on import.
(*) Redesigned local score database for optimal performance.

Skinning
(+) Added skin Haruhi-ism by Alex0686.
(+) Added skin Street Fighter VI by Atmey.
(+) Added skin Minimal by CheZDa.
(+) Added skin WarioWare by Behonkiss.
(+) Added new colour adjustment to skin "StarBreakAdditive".
(+) Added support for custom skin sample intervals. Under [General] for Taiko CustomComboBurstSounds: 50,100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800
(+) Added skin reload hotkey (works anywhere in-game) Ctrl-Alt-S.
(*) Updated Ouendan2 by devkit4384 to v4.0.

Storyboarding
(*) Bad ending (storyboard) plays more sections are failed than passed (instead of last section failed).
(*) Fixed many SBE bugs.

Bug Fixes
(*) Fixed BSS not creating no-video link if client has video disabled when performing upload.
(*) Fixed Alt-f4 from editor occasionally triggering 'Song Setup' dialog.
(*) Fixed animations disappearing in storyboard when saving in editor (without first seeking through the map).
(*) Fixed avatars not loading in play mode multiplayer matches.
(*) Fixed background colour not being set to current background in colour choosing dialog.
(*) Fixed being able to skip in test build by clicking the pie.
(*) Fixed bug in random number generator (previous replays of CtB hard may not be perfect as a result).
(*) Fixed bug when clicking 'watch replay' after spectating a play causing weird behaviour in rare cases.
(*) Fixed bug where beatmap content would be deleted if swapping from a short to longer mp3 using the File > Open editor dialog.
(*) Fixed bug where design-mode sprites are clickable in timing mode.
(*) Fixed bug where storyboarded maps that also contain video not loading textures properly.
(*) Fixed buggy behaviour when changing BPM in a 2x/0.5x inheriting section.
(*) Fixed channel add dialog styling.
(*) Fixed channel tabs not stacking to second row properly.
(*) Fixed chat cursor not displaying on first load of f8.
(*) Fixed chat spam filter working incorrectly in some cases (L/R being blocked when it shouldn't).

(*) Fixed incorrect date/time showing on results screen after spectating someone.

(*) Fixed keyboard shortcuts working in too many menus.
(*) Fixed misses not appearing.
(*) Fixed mouse cursor disappearing on exiting editor after a beatmap-specific cursor skin is applied.
(*) Fixed music not playing at song select after exiting editor in some cases.

(*) Fixed offset not display in F3 timing screen when set to 0.
(*) Fixed ordering of hit explosion on sliders.

(*) Fixed replay buttons clickable even when the osu! window isn't focused.

(*) Fixed threadlock condition with user joins.
(*) Fixed video events in osb file writing to osu file.
(*) Made avatar loading more robust.
(*) More slider logic fixes. Hopefully unflawed now.
(*) Multiplayer fixes.
(*) Online Users button is now always visible.
(*) Performance increase for skin selection screen.
(*) Popup messages move back down to bottom of screen when chat is closed.
(*) Skin option "SpinnerFadePlayfield" is once again obeyed.
(*) Slight optimisation to repeated sprite loading.
(*) Spectating is halted when watching an autoplay/replay.

Same here. Always wanted to try out the Taiko scoreboards. =3 I always felt a bit bored with Taiko whenever I saw that the online scoreboards didn't do anything when I played Taiko. :|

New multiplayer and Taiko is absolute win. Also, I know this should go in Bugs, but II'm not sure if it's a bug or not - Whe watching your own replay, not only does your rank show "??" (Like it should), but the person in 40th shows "??" too.

Sweet! Now we just need Taiko replays being accessible from the scoreboards, and we're set! Wait, that *will* happen eventually, right? Since they work, just that I can't see how other people did, which saddens me slightly. ;_; Nice update regardless, though the Taiko authentic scoring confuses me. XP

Silly bugs are fun. :P Like the case of spinning after failing. And still being able to hit some stuff (and even get misses) during failing.

By the way, awesome list peppy. Very, very impressive.

After closing the forign language chat, (#japanese #korean or something) It's unable to re-open. I have to restart osu to solve this problem.
It's Uncomfortable for me.

Chat channel bug is known and will be fixed likely tonight or tomorrorow.

I actually suspected this after missing big notes no matter how fast I clicked... The big notes seem to "stick" longer and block the hits that follow from being hit...
