This is not a score modifier, mods are increasing (or decreasing) punish for 200, 100 and 50s.

I discover a issue about HD Mods.

I used HD Mods and played this song.
And I got a miss judgment when I hit the note between combo 10 & 11.

I use both HD & AUTO Mods and play again.
We can see the note between combo 10 & 11 is indistinct to hit.
And AUTO Mods doesn't hit the note.

But if I use AUTO Mods and play again,
AUTO Mods hit the note of combo 11.

So ... is it correct?

Flashing notes in hid mod are bombs that you shouldn't hit.

And hidden is just darkening the notes, not really a problem for people with good sight, where in the other modes hidden will require very short term memory.

Half of your score is indirectly affected by Perfect Comboing (300s, glowing 300s), the other half is unaffected by combo. It's not as annoying as osu! standard mode though, as there's a fixed maximum score. Read up about the scoring system on the wiki.

Hidden mode isn't finalized, but apparently, there are flashing notes that need to be avoided.

So if two people get the same score, but one of them gets it first with no mod and the second gets it later with double time, which score has higher rank? The no mod score or the DT score?

I guess it's probably the no mod score because they got it first ?

if you are referring to rank, yes, if there is a tie in the scoreboard the person who got it first keeps it.

That's kind of dumb, I think mod scores should at least have preference in the case of a tie

The preference of mod scores is already there; slightly decreased punishment for getting anything below a 300, resulting in a slightly higher score.
Except in the case of an SS, giving preference to a mod score in a tie would be giving preference to 'the one who did slightly worse with a modifier' as opposed to 'the one who did the same with a modifier'.

I was mostly thinking if someone gets 1mil with no mod and another person later gets 1mil with double time, I think the double time score should be rank 1

but I guess that's not the way mania works ;w;

Pretty sure that means the fix itself doesn't affect scoring. Combos already contribute to your score.

Not breaking your combo is propably enough. Sliders give you different amounts of combo depending on how long you hold the key down I think.

"Perfect" only requires no "Bad" judgements (100 or lower), but I think you can release held notes slightly early (dropping a couple ticks) and still get 300. I've seen songs with multiple SS and differing combo.
