Holy shit it's my first time in years making a minimally substantial thread.
So, are you aware of Simpsonizations? These drawings where someone is drawn in the style of The Simpsons. Usually these are fanmade with a huge variation in quality.
This one for example, looks decent enough to pass as something made in the series. That person did study the style and imitated the elements that could make it interesting.
This example below, albeit made by the same artist, have the same problem as most simpsonizations, it looks alright, but the attempt at imitating real life people while keeping the style of The Simpsons is quite difficult without making it look uncanny.
You know what's funny? The Beatles DID appear on the show (individually, Ringo, George and Paul appeared as guest stars and John as a parody) and they had their official simpsons style. The fact the drawing above did not try to imitate at least the style is disappointing at best and uncanny at worst, but it doesn't end here.
It's time to go deeper into the abyss. Open under your own risk.
There's people that commision artists to be drawn in The Simpsons style. Most of the time (either the commissioner or the artist) want the real faces of them in "The ""Simpsons"" style", which often involves tracing over the original picture and painting their faces yellow. Oh, there's still a lower level. Be careful not to trip.
