Why exactly wouldn't the mod put an absorber as a town role?

You're set-up speculating - which isn't really advisable in a game like this. Remember, this is a game where the Host picks roles, what you think is fine is not necessarily what the mod thinks is fine.

Set-up spec is ok when it's a semi-open or open set-up, but this is a closed set-up. It may help but it cannot alone be a basis for saying some one is scum.

Haneii was sitting on a park bench, enjoying some Mint Ice Cream. All seemed to be going well that day, when suddenly two people jump out at her, screaming "YOU MURDERER!"

Suprised, Haneii swallows a bit too much of the ice cream, and begins choking. After some time the ice cream melts, and a relieved Haneii gets up. Ready, she walks forward to confront her accusations.... and is struck by lightning as a mysterious smoke fills the area.

Haneii - Lynched D1

When the smoke clears, the body is nowhere to be found.

It is now Night 1. Send all night actions within 24 hours. If you do not, the host will get to choose if you use your night action or not, and on whom.

In the middle of Night, someone stumbles upon the missing body of Haneii.

Haneii - Stalker + Enabler + Commuter + Dreaming God - Town - was Lynched D1.

Night continues, and you feel better knowing who died, but worse because they were innocent.

Why are you oh-so-interested in who he scanned and what result he got? Calling out someone's aux role is completely anti-town as it lets the mafia know who to target.

@Lyb, I just wanted Two to say who the townie person was.

He doesn't need to reveal the aux role (if there even is one).

Just so we don't need to suspect that person anymore.

I am now less convinced that animask is Mafia and Lybydose more so.

Though animask might be pulling a facade, Doc immediately commented about revealing an aux role when animask didn't mention anything of the sort ot be revealed. Lybydose, I think you just might be jumping the gun here.

That doesn't sound like that great of reasoning to be suspicious of Lybydose. When I read animask's post, I thought he was asking for Two to reveal everything he found. Even after Two gave good reasoning to not reveal the role. And this is a game where everyone has some sort of power, so mafia could benefit from even the knowledge of someone who's town(We've already seen a cult, who knows if there are any other third parties).

And really Mariobros, I don't get how what animask said made him less suspicious.

I would like it if you would stop dismissing animask's unhelpful behavior as him simply being a noob.

I've gone from "borderline useless" to "possibly useful in a certain scenario".

What I'm wondering though is why you would publicly announce this? Who exactly does that benefit besides the mafia?

Concluding this could mean he's already used his power if he has one or that he won't be able to activate something for a period of time in the game.

If Two is telling the truth that there is no replacement leader then there really isn't any point in lynching him, as the only way he can win now is if he is the last one standing. Even if he is lying, and he did recruit someone who became the new leader after he died (a priest, perhaps?), I still don't lynching him would accomplish much, as we should be focusing on finding mafia.

Though I haven't played a game with a cult before, so I'm unaware of the general rules of thumb when dealing with them.

With cults it's literally beat them or join them.
Generally you stop cults from spreading when they're still few - target the cult leader first.
Some variations though pass the ability to recruit to another member once the leader dies.

If Two is telling the truth then he can't recruit anyone anymore, so for now we can focus on scumhunting.

It does make sense for the cult to start memberless (nothing but a leader), and it would simply be the leader's job to recruit every night to make it a true "cult".

Now then, the cult could be handled (by the host) in a number of ways. It could possibly be a pro-town cult, with the main advantage here being that anyone joining effectively becomes a mason (confirmed same faction for everyone else in it).

Much also depends on the order in which night actions are resolved. Assuming a cult recruitment happens before a kill (also assuming Two didn't die because he targeted a mafioso to recruit), it's very possible someone else is in the cult. Furthermore, cult leader death is sometimes handled by passing the role to the oldest living recruited player. If this were the case, whomever he recruited is now the leader of the cult. Two would then become a normal member on revival because there would already be a new leader at that point.

Either way, it doesn't really make much sense to lynch Two. If it's a pro-town cult, it's counterproductive to lynch people in it. If it's an anti-town cult, killing Two doesn't help much since the leader is still alive. If it's none of the above and Two really is just a solo cultist that can't recruit, he's not a threat to us at all.

He might motivate someone with a role that may or may not be benefit to town.

(And what happens if he uses it on Mafia, does that mean they can Nightkill twice?)

Nightkilling twice would be way overpowered. If it targeted mafia they would probably get another night action to use.

Regarding Two:
He claims to have lost his recruitment ability, but we cannot say for certain.
Some want to lynch him because he is confirmed non-town and was anti-town, while other say that we should lynch mafia instead of him.
I agree with the latter, but if we have absolutely nothing to go on, I could go with the former.

Other Notes:
At the moment, I don't find anyone that suspicious (barring Two, but he's cult).
We may have two motivators as Two implies not to have used his power on me.
We seem to have some role that can post public messages. Apparently the same role can investigate others?

Two has not targeted NoHItter. The people who did were animask, rust45, and 0_o. We can assume that one of them forced his role to be revealed, and the other gave him his post restriction. The other we can't be sure about, so if that's you I encourage to roleclaim now.
I have used my Lie Detector ability twice (I can use it during day or night), confirming that Wojjan is the bomb and animask is with the town.
I'll wait to see how animask rust and 0_o respond to this, as if we can get the third role we will have 7 or so confirmed townies.

Yes I did target Hitter last night. And I will say that my action was the one that changed his role. But I had no idea how it would change the role when I used it.

If we believe 0_o, and I am inclined to, that leaves us with 5 possible mafia:
  1. Lybydose
  2. Lilac
  3. DxS

Of these, if we assume 3 mafia, I would pick Lybydose, DxS and adam. Lyby's actions seem quite hostile and to me it doesn't seem like he's trying to scumhunt. DxS is similarly hostile acting, though that's more of a hunch. adam2046 is in there because he's adam and this is Host's Poison; it seems likely that he would be picked as a mafioso, that's all :P.
Q we really haven't heard enough from to judge, so he' be the fourth if there are four I think. Lilac just generally seems innocent to me and then of course there's that little note from before which didn't seem to fit a member of the mafia.
Sorry if I forgot something, this game is hectic.

Anyway, for now I'm going to vote Lybydose because he is my strongest FoS.

rust, 0_o and animask have all targeted NoHItter since the start of the game. There were 2 actions targeted at nohitter since the start of the game, and 0_o's has been redirected onto nohitter. Read the thread again, you'll get it.

ehh I can kind of see what you mean, but animask's first line seems like a tautology to me due to the use of the term "probably".

Here, example:

Say there's a 10 person game with 2 mafia. I select a person at random and say "This person is probably townie". The statement is true no matter who I chose because there's an 80% chance he's townie.

ehh I can kind of see what you mean, but animask's first line seems like a tautology to me due to the use of the term "probably".

Here, example:

Say there's a 10 person game with 2 mafia. I select a person at random and say "This person is probably townie". The statement is true no matter who I chose because there's an 80% chance he's townie.
It would actually mean that Two deemed it necessary to investigate animask and found that he is townie.
Which I find kind of funny.
How does the lie detector work anyway? Does it say if there's a lie in the post somewhere or do you have to plug in specific parts of the post?
And you can use it twice every day, once at night and once during the day?

Yeah seeing as everyone is getting multi-abilitied roles I'm thinking the mafia probably has some abilities too. One of the targetters very well could have been a mafia with a post-restriction ability. And how is Hitter confirmed?
