Oh something pop in my mind, can be added custom skin? or it's only SB

What? It's not that complicated. There are almost no restrictions at all on what you can do with your storyboard, you just pick one of the three maps and goShinde wrote:

I meant that they were complicated for me to explain. I think the hardest part was "each person can only join one team and each team can only make one SB." If you can understand that you should be golden.Shinde wrote:
You said they're complicated, LH.This contest is too smart for me. Also Siriru will win.

about the SB, is the ranking criteria is applied too (SB load, maximum size, etc) ?
Technical Execution - The quality of the images (including reasonable filesizes and proper cropping), the quality of the code, and the performance of the SB

I might regret this later, but I'm going to go ahead and say go for it. Skinning is allowed. But it'll be one of those things that the judges aren't going to be judging directly, so it shouldn't impact your score unless it's so amazing or so terrible that it sways the "overall impression" rating. And try to limit it to skinning elements that are directly relevant to your SB, and not just meaningless flair.Astom wrote:

A good SB looks better with a good Skin so ~LuigiHann wrote:

Edit: But I will say no to custom hitsounds, since that would change the map itself. Comboburst, spinner, and sectionpass/fail sounds are okay, but any sound that starts with "normal-" or "soft-" or otherwise "hit" is off limits
just like the pros at iNiS used to doAstom wrote:

How about photography? I took a picture of the venue used in Scott Pilgrim where they performed Black Sheep but I have no idea who did the artwork on the building itself. I'm guessing that falls into the "not super picky" bucket?LuigiHann wrote:
Like I said before I don't think we need in-game credits (unless you want to add them), but I'm thinking that some kind of listing of sources will be required as part of the entry process. Not gonna be super picky, just need to be able to tell which elements are user-made and which elements come from elsewhere.
I don't see why not. Also imo storyboarding (writing the code) is pretty much the easiest partLilac wrote:

I find that's the easiest part as well. Images are the worst...awp wrote:

Either. Or both. Make your own images or use web images in any combination, just make a note of which ones you made and where you got the ones you didn't. Make sense?Komeiji Yuki wrote:

It's supposed to use pictures from internet (and note the source)

Yeah, a contest. Not a race. Take the time and make it count. I hope to see high quality SB's, especially given the deadline extension.Astom wrote:

I bailed partway into August, or maybe a week before thatLuigiHann wrote:

They started at GMT, so it just fair to every participant if the deadline is set to GMT too. Just to be fair to eastern Sbers too.eee wrote:
EEEDIT: Extending the deadline to 11:59 pacific time giving the west coast the rest of the day, NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME
I totally agree with ziin, ideas for SBs that aren't under your totally control is just hard, is not the same than make a diff., SB is much more close to creativity and make something creative from something than you probably don't fully like is realy hard.ziin wrote:
I was going to make a joke one in 9 hours but I have to work. I'll try to make one in 2-3 once I get back for gits and shiggles.
Ideas for storyboards are very difficult unless you have complete control over the song you choose, and I didn't like any of the songs which is why I didn't bother signing up for serious.
I'm not against late submissions, but they deserve a penalty like akrolsmir says, is just not fair for people trying to finish in time.akrolsmir wrote:
Suggestion: Allow late submissions of up to 12 hours with a slight score penalty. After all, the contest has been running for a few months, it can wait another half day if necessary. It'd be prudent to give procrastinators just a bit more breathing room, if only to diversify the entry field. Because I don't think judging exactly one entry was what you were looking for.
I fell bad for all, I just want forget this contest.Lilac wrote:

I don't know about Ernst (that was the VG music one, right?) but the Japanese and American songs were excellent candidates for storyboarding. I think the real problem is most people don't realize that a good storyboard requires far more time and effort than making a good beatmap.yeahyeahyeahhh wrote:

I could have helped them. Though I'm wondering what they actually did.Derekku wrote:
