It is star2.png. Remove star2.png and star2@2x.png if they are in your skin and put an empty 1x1 star2.png into the skin.
How to add that back tho? I had stars falling of my cursor some time ago. But, after installing some new skins, stars don't fall from my cursor in Osu! anymore in any skins. How do I get'em back?

Go to the skin folder - open options, type skin and find "Open current skin folder" - and delete the following names:
This will bring back the default stars.
Don't forget to reload the skin.
