it sure can do the same thing, both are viable. not that im like some insane player but im mouse and i got here so ^^
Its just a matter of comfortability, for me personally I am more comfortable with using mouse.

I would say that this is not true, you can do everything in mouse as you can do in tablet.
you do not need a tablet to play osu! and buying one wont make you suddenly better.

I bought a good mouse and a cheap tablet about the same price, the mouse has less delay. Well what did I expect since the tablet is cheap
they are a bit different. if you hover on tablet you get more speed than mouse but less control, mouse has more control though a bit less speed since it's a larger body that you're moving. I'd say dragging is a middle ground between the two.
Though unless you are a top player it's probably just a skill issue, that or you have a cheap mouse/have it improperly set up.

For me, mouse is just fine but the only issue is, I can't jump downwards precisely with it and also my ring and little finger hurt cuz I hold it like claw

I just use mouse and keyboard for now. I tried using a tablet, but it just felt off. Maybe I just had the wrong settings and dimensions.

it really is just a preference of which one you're comfortable with, you can reach the same level of skills with both.
i know for a matter of fact, that me and my friend who started playing with mouse, while i play with tablet from the same day, yet my friend that uses mouse beaten me (both in ranks and skills) far ahead of me.

Besides the difference in weight and the feeling of a pen in your hand being more natural and comfortable than a mouse, I still think the mouse is more suitable for you if you play another 2D aim games such as League of Legends or Dota because the aim you develop in osu! can very well translate to those games. If you just started playing osu! you should use a tablet, if you played for more than 1 year or so you should keep with your mouse, the transition to tablets can be very stressful.
i mean both have their advantages and disadvantages
I don't play STD, but I think tablet is better if I had a choice

I may be a mouse player, but I don't care either way. Most pros use tablet anyway.

Some of the world's top players use mouse (Nyanpotato and im a fancy lad immediately come to mind).

When i first started playing osu i played on mouse for like 4-5 months then i bought a tablet and was able to set scores i couldnt set with mouse on like my 2nd week with tablet, this was just my personal experience but yea neither is better than the other, a mouse player can do everything a tablet player can and vice versa
