i have a problem. i downloaded the torrent (osu! 2018 more specifically) file and all and made it to the part where i need to extract the rar. when i tried extracting 2018 february, march and april it gave pop up with a red dot with an x inside saying "this file is either unknown or damaged". when i opened january 2018 it only showed 1 beatmap and winrar itself gave a pop up saying "unexpected end of archive" whatever that means. when i opened may 2018 the same as january happened except all the maps were there. i didnt open any more cause i have no idea wtf is going on and if im being stupid and doing sometyhing completely wrong
I think that you are using an old version of WinRAR, which doesn't support the new RAR5 format. You can download the latest version of WinRAR at https://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

General Information / FAQ
Where are the packs?
Scroll down, the links are at the bottom of this post.
How to get the packs with torrent? What is torrent?
- Get a torrent client like qBitorrent or Deluge.
- Download any torrent file you want from the list below on this post. You will get a file ending with ".torrent".
- Open it. If you have your torrent client installed, it will open it and start downloading the pack. You will get the pack which is a ".rar" file. You will need a program like WinRar, WinZip or 7-Zip to open it.
- Open this file. You will see all the beatmaps of the month and mode you have downloaded.
- Extract the mapset you want or all of them in a folder and then open them. You can also drag and drop them straight to your osu client if you're adding a lot of maps.
- There's nothing to do in the songs folder. Once you have extracted the mapsets from the .rar files, you just have to open those mapsets or drag and drop them in your client, just as if you had downloaded them from the osu beatmap page. Do not copy anything in the songs folder, your osu client will take care of that.
Where is last month pack?
I don't have a fixed schedule for the uploads, sometimes I do it as soon as the month is over, sometimes I take more time. I do things when I can.
Where is 20xx torrent? (especially when said year is not over)
The year is not over so the torrent is not done yet.
Also, same answer as the question above. I do things when I can.
Are all the ranked maps there?
I used osu!direct to check that I had everything but I've had problems with it so I can't be sure that 100% of the ranked maps are there.
There might be a few missing maps at most but I think that 99% of the maps are there.
Does this include maps that can't be downloaded on the site anymore?
Yes.
Is it with or without the videos?
Videos are included on maps that have them. I am not interested in doing the same thing without the videos.
Does it include loved maps? Please add loved maps.
Loved maps are basically unranked maps that have a ranking leaderboard. Nonetheless, they are still unranked maps that can be ranked in the future. Therefore it would require to remove them from the loved list and then add them to the ranked list, which I am not interested in doing.
"This map has been ranked on the 1st of December but is in the November pack | on the 30th of November but is in the December pack"
For all the maps ranked from 2007 to 2017, I've used the time from the old website (UTC+9 if I'm not wrong).
From 2017 to 2020, I have used my local time (UTC+4).
From 2020, I have been using my local time (UTC+1/ UTC+2).
So if you notice errors like these, please do not report them unless you see the mapset in both months. Some maps will be in a different month depending on your timezone.

does osu! compress files or are some of the maps messed up? cuz after i download and extract all the files into the song folder it adds about 200 GB but then after i open osu! and let it detect and take care of all the new songs it removes about 100 GB in the folder ... if that's normal or somethings messed up and its removed songs that don't work or something
The *.osz themselves are zip files with their extension name changed. osu! compresses the maps only when you export it. When you import them into the game, it extracts them, so the size should be bigger.DeathzTheAwesome wrote:

There are maps that got duplicated (if you downloaded more than 1 mode), because those mapsets are in multiple archives.
So when you added in to the game, the duplicated one got removed.
But 100GB gone... I think that's a problem. Shouldn't be that much, even I removed all the videos, it only reduced from ~200GB to ~140GB.
There is a new problem come from osu! itself that it can't process beatmaps file (*.osu) with non-ASCII characters.
So it will affect to these mapsets:

The first fours listed above will got their mapsets missing in-game, and the rest will make 1 or more difficulties missing.
Solution:
For people who already owned the beatmaps and have imported in the game:
- 1. Close your game.
- 2. Go into your Songs folder, search for that mapsets folder (find easily with mapsetID), rename the *.osu to a proper ASCII character. (Won't affect the data, since osu! processes metadata from what's written in it, not filename)
- 3. Go back to your song select ingame and F5.
- 1. Find that map in Song Select.
- 2. Click on any diff that is not the diff with the problem (if you accidentally click on that diff, the game will reprocess your beatmaps database).
- 3. F3 (or Right-click), choose Delete, and delete all difficulties.
- 4. Go to your Recycle Bin, Ctrl+X (cut) those folders to somewhere else.
- 5. Rename the *.osu to a proper ASCII character.
- 6a. (Your game is still opening) Move those folders into your Songs folder, then F5 ingame (it will only process the newly added ones, not reprocessing the whole database)
- 6b. (Alternative, safer, but much complicated) Go into the folder of EACH MAPSETS, Ctrl+A to select all files (BG, SB, hitsound, songs, beatmaps, ...), add them into a *.zip archive (zip, no rar, no 7z, ..., and use Deflate method), rename those *.zip to *.osz, then drag-and-drop them into the game.
Open those *.osz with WinRAR, 7-zip, WinZip, ... and rename those *.osu
If you don't have those beatmaps yet:
If you downloaded the *.osz directly from the website, you will still have to open the *.osz with WinRAR/7-zip/... to rename those *.osu files.
Atm, we won't repack any packs, since it will also affect the torrent activites.

In the torrent links there's no 2019 or 2020 , could you add it or is there a problem with it ?
Since the 2019 torrent hasn't been created and downloading them all from Drive isn't completely ideal, I created the 2019 osu! standard torrent until the OP creates one.

It's included the lib as well, so you don't have to install things that support zstd (like 7-zip ZS or WinZip).

But if 2007-2019, it would be around roughly 200GB after importing them into the game (the packs are about ~150GiB I suppose?).
After searching and deleting all the videos, Songs folder became nearly 130GB.

Well, it's not an exact number, since there're some diffs added that I cloned from the original ones to practice OD10, and also minus a bit of non-loved diffs (Loved mapsets with only SOME of the diffs got ranked).

They're all files with ~20KB size (and 1 with 1.3MB and 1 with 9.4MB, but should be 16.8MB and 11.1MB, maybe Elessey failed downloading them and still kept them.

Some beatmaps hitsounds use *.ogg instead of *.wav for low file size, and still retain the low-latency. And also some maps use *.ogg instead of *.mp3 for audio becuz how opus codec is way superior.
So after Ctrl+A when typing "kind:=video", make sure to unselect the *.ogg files.
But you probably deleted them all. Very sorry for the inconvenience, I haven't found this at that time. And my Windows version doesn't recognize them as video, so I didn't notice. You may have deleted the hitsounds and the music files of some maps.

Those 5 mapsets should be in 2018-05, 2018-05, 2019-10, 2019-10, 2019-10 packs.
They should all be there, because I also have an osu! client to store all the maps from the packs, and when I type those mapsetID, they're all there.

The packs are mostly made after they're ranked for maximum of instantly to 6 months (depending if Elessey is busy or not), so they were still available. Or even if it wasn't, you can download from either bloodcat, or BeatConnect.Time Frozen wrote:

But you can guess that they're all from KONAMI/BENAMI arcade games like idx, iidx, SDVX, or some OP/ED anime songs like MIIRO, or some big hits like Despacito, ...

Even if there are multiple files of 1 diff, when you import them ingame, it only shows 1, just one. It's just that you have a/some redundant file(s) taking up space.Giai tich 2 wrote:

There are NONE duplicate mapsets or beatmaps (difficulties) if you just downloaded 1 game mode.
If you download multiple game modes, just put them in together, and the mapsets that have multiple game modes will overwrite each other, so no duplicate.
And 57923 vs. 57912, it can either be the above problem (counted before ASCII-related prob detected), or you counted the other game modes in it. (Because there are sets with multiple game modes, and the stats only count "standard" diffs)

A GOOD NEWS HERE: I just found set 1055 have 2 duplicate diffs(osu!api ERROR), after deleting these diffs, now I have 57912 maps too, and I more and more believe that the EXACT NUMBER in standard ranked maps in 2007-2018 is 57912 (15694 sets), you can recheck it whenever you have time.

For example:
The 2020 Jan-March is UTC+2, because it was made in April, although Jan-Feb isn't affected by CEST.

But you can be sure that by the end of 2020, we'd be using UTC+1, so just calc all the maps before the 2020-Dec-31 23:00 PM (UTC) and it would be fine.

Maybe I have missed some beatmaps, or it wasn't updated (because osu! doesn't load ranked status in background, you have to actually select each beatmaps in Song Select for it to load)
At the time this one is the latest ranked, with Group By "Ranked Status" and typing "mode=osu" in-game, I got 75386 ranked and 2079 loved (from 98097/5034 total, and 26474 folders (mapsets) in "osu!\Songs").

A w przypadku plików torrentowych z lat 2007-2018, Elessey też ich nie wysiewa.
W przypadku pakietów na lata 2019-2020, można je pobrać tylko z łącza Google Drive lub łącza OneDrive w oryginalnym poście.

Hello guys, I have a question: where I can find torrents for 2019 and 2020 maps? In the torrents folder I see only 2018 and earlier maps. I would download from Google, but my network is not stable enough: download just drops and doesn't allow to continue from that point, only try to re-download which also then fails due to network. And sadly I can't do anything about that

You can try using Download Manager such as JDownloader 2 for the "continually downloads from interruptions".

And about the copy technique, you can't download the file right away (unless the files are kinda small), you have to wait a bit until you can download from your Drive (estimated time kinda ~ the time you copy+paste a file with the same size), it's only a shortcut to the original files at the time you just hit "Make a copy".
You can also try Make a copy to your drive, but not downloading from there, but using apps like Google Drive Desktop, rclone, ... to sync it to your computer.

When downloading on google drive to get the latest packs it says failed-network error every single time. I have searched up the problem and tried every solution to no avail. Anyone else have this problem?
Edit: I have attempted copying it into my drive, but it ends up with the same error when downloading the .rar file for 2020-01. I also tried using the built in zip extractor of google drive as a last attempt and it gives the error code unknown error which gets me nowhere.

yeah, now i have 200gb of osu maps, and my laptop has only 300 gb, so i guess i have to delete some other games

About the builtin zip extractor, RAR is a proprietary format of RARLab, Zip doesn't know how to read it, so of course it will return "Unknown".
