EDIT:
@matthewhln: To avoid mistakes about dealing with scores, Team VS would be better. Referee won't do anything can affect scores, and if it happens referee will correct it right away. There will be only one referee, though other staffs can be observer.
About disconnection rule, at first I set that rule cause I want to avoid some disruptions that can be done by some bad people, but I'll reconsider that rule.
And that rule number 12, considering what was done by Spanish team in osu! World Cup, I think I need to keep that.

@Pheon: Uh, try searching some Taiko players in there? (You can use ranking by countries.) Or may I help you? (Yeah, maybe this time would be nice use of Registration Rule number 4.)

Slight modification in disconnection rule and some more. Now disconnection of one player result in nulification of the game.

Wasn't the meaning of this rule to mix countrys together which lacks with Taiko players? Tought that's what most people said at beginning.
Otherwise it would make no sence because it would not follow the point of the worldcup because that would mean:
Heya! Let's make a second german team with 2 best players from Taiko.

There's already Team Germany, so considering Germany as 'minor' is a little tricky. But there's no Austria team yet. You know what I mean, right?

I've asked the active taikoplayers around here, none are able/willing to participate, due to then being inconfident in their skills or being busy with other things. :.

I've looked around for a bit, I've seen that several countries already have a team formed up which're close by, so eh, I guess it could work but yeah, it'd be a mixteam from all over the place I bet :D.

Some help would be appreciated very much, if it isn't too much of a burden. If so, do tell me, I'll figure it out somehow. ^^.

Registration is till April 9th, so take your time :) You might can find some players want to participate in this post, I guess.
(Due to time difference, it would be advisable to make a team with nearby players.)

I think there should be a rule that at least two players out of the three need to be in the same country to be able to create that country's team.

It has nothing to do with me... I just think that way it's better because now people can just recruit whoever they want and call it their country's team and it doesn't fit the whole world cup theme, my lepidon~

I think the registered teams are ok right now, but Team UK looks more like Team USA^2, I'll bet there is one more USA taiko player!

Ärr, kidding me more? 3 countrys in 1 team can't be right, the chineese have enough players for taiko, same for the korean! And about noobita, he should do the same as rokodo, search for a team that doesn't have enough players for his country!
I'm not agree with this team, beacuse it's not a country team! I don't say that because their skills, the chineese and korean can make a team that could be skilled too!

And if it's a joke, it was not rly funny!

light667 has replaced Yunacat. She may come back into the team and replace anongos unless he plays the osu! taiko more often, because obviously, that'll be necessary to participate.

Being that I worded that badly:

Yunacat is out, but will replace anongos if he doesn't show more activity on osu!

I wanted to stream those matches by my self but due to sloooow internet speed between here and US(cause I'm trying to use livestream), it might be hard to do that. Instead I should ask to someone else.
Hmm, it wasn't that slow before, does it related with broken cables in undersees?

Played 6 autos in offline. 15 fps, 300~500kbps. At least my computer can deal with that, but unfortunatly due to bad internet connection or something like that, I can't keep quality like dvorak's, I guess.

I will have in a few day's 16k Internet. So I guess it will have no lagging problems.

The Second Korean Team registered! It would be interesting...

@Rikers: Do you want participate world cup? well, you can find more US players(I saw some, actually), or participate in some other team is available too.

EDIT:
I'm currently thinking about using both round-robin group stage(Only for round 1, maybe.) and knockout tournament stage. If we do that, The Taiko World Cup will go off for about 5~7 weeks, if there's no obstacle like server instablilty. (The match will held in mainly weekends, I guess.)

Any opinions?

not with out knock-out tornament, of course. only 1st or 2nd round will be Round-robin tournament.

I mean, spliting teams in to 4 groups and proceed round-robin tournament, then 1st & 2nd among each groups will participae in knock-out tornament. Just think about Football World Cup and you will get it.

Round-robin group stage is a good idea when there are 16 teams or less (15 teams now)
Maybe 4 groups then each groups have 2 qualified team after round-robin group stage
Then we may have knockout tournament stage (Which A group first qualified team will aginest B group second qualified team,etc)

@^: More than 16 teams works too, I guess. I'll stream with 6 Taikos even if it's too small lol

EDIT:
To prevent draw in ranking of the teams within the group, I need to set some criteria to compare. I don't think score difference will work cause playing longer maps can get more score difference. So I suggest score difference/maximum score ratio.
For example, if maximum score is 100,000 and your team scored total 270,000 with your oppenent scored 240,000, your team win your oppenents by 30,000. So your team gets 30,000/100,000=0.300 score ratio points and your oppenent gets -0.300 score ratio points.

Won't be used that much casue there's now draw in matches, but that situation can be happened anyway. Of course no need to calculate those things in knockout tournament.

To prevent draw in ranking of the teams within the group, I need to set some criteria to compare. I don't think score difference will work cause playing longer maps can get more score difference. So I suggest score difference/maximum score ratio.
For example, if maximum score is 100,000 and your team scored total 270,000 with your oppenent scored 240,000, your team win your oppenents by 30,000. So your team gets 30,000/100,000=0.300 score ratio points and your oppenent gets -0.300 score ratio points.

Won't be used that much casue there's now draw in matches, but that situation can be happened anyway. Of course no need to calculate those things in knockout tournament.

For longer songs, 1 miss costs less but in short songs 1 miss cost a lot, that's the problem.

I think we can decide the winners like this, just like football touraments

Firstly we decide the winner by # of wins in the group

Tie breaker 1: more games won (e.g., 3:1, 2:3, 3:0 is better than 3:1, 0:3, 3:0) *
Tie breaker 2: less game conceded (e.g., 3:1, 3:1, 1:3 is better than 3:2, 1:3, 3:2)
Tie breaker 3: score/max score ratio
Tie breaker 4: Extra match (rare case)

*: We won't have a draw for both teams winning 9 matches, so the 1st place is decided before tiebreaker.

Oh well, why I didn't think about counting games when there's tie lol

In 1st round(which has high chance to be robon-round stage), you will need to win 3 games to win the match, so counting games won when certain teams has same number of matches won won't work. So...

- Basically more victories --> higher ranking in the group, higher chance to go to the next stage.
- Tie breaker 1: Less game conceded
- Tie breaker 2: score/max score ratio
- Tie breaker 3: Extra match (rare, yeah.)

Longer maps can have more chance to get missed cause it has more notes, so I think 1 miss costs less in longer maps can be justify.

EDIT:
I expect to start the tournament in April 16th, but I think I won't be able to participate the matches in that day, so I'll entrust arien666 temporarily to do the manager's work for the day. (Well, that will be the first day of tournament so I wanted to deal issues by myself since there can be a lots of mistakes, but I think I won't be able to do it Q_Q)

Tie breaker applies to teams who don't win all three games, so they can have different number of games won during the match conceded.

e.g.
Team A 3:1, 3:1, 2:3
Team B 3:1, 3:1, 0:3

Team A > Team B

Uh.... Ok, since there are no Italy or Netherlands team currently, and 2 players are Italian and 2 players are dutch can be registered as Italy-Netherlands, I guess?

I have been thinking,
This rule:
8. The team wins 3 games first will win the match. In semi-final and final, the team need to win 4 games.

If it can changed into,
Round-robin group stage: Wins 3 games
Knockout tournament stage: Wins 4 games
Final: Wins 5 games

Currently I'm making map pools for this Taiko WC. Already chose 120 songs, though not all of them will be used.

Not that many good & hard maps in Ranked standard maps to play Taiko, unfortunalty.
