- 2 years

2. Why did you start playing CTB?
-I was a really big S3rl fan back then, I remember that i was listening to Feel The Melody when i saw a correlated video of Pika girl on osu! and i downloaded the game, i played standard for few months then switched on ctb because it's a fun mode.

3. What playstyle do you use?
-4 and 6 numpad for left-right, 1 (not numpad) for dashing (it's really comfortable)

1. How long have you been playing CTB on osu! for?

Since early 2015.

2. Why did you start playing CTB?

I couldn't do standard at the time because my mouse was crappy and I didn't have a tablet (Until Christmas of 2015). I tried taiko but I didn't do good there as well. Then I finally found CTB, which was a more easier game mode for me. You don't even have to click or press buttons to follow the rhythm, you just have to catch a stream of fruits to the rhythm as much as you can. I also play CTB because since I have high-functioning autism, I find it useful for focusing and visual stimming.

3. What playstyle do you use?

Left and right arrow keys for moving. Shift for dash.

4. Who is your favourite CTB player?

I probably have no idea, since I don't focus on the top players of CTB themselves too much.

5. Which CTB map do you like the most?

Gahh, why this question? I mean for some reason, I only play standard beatmaps converted to CTB.

6. Who is your favourite CTB mapper?

I also don't really focus on mappers so I have no clue.

7. Do you use mods? If so, which ones?

I mostly use no mods for harder difficulties, but I use HR for normal.

8. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?

Idk....

9. What is your favorite CTB Diff?

Please refer to question 5. As for standard converted to CTB, I often do 2 - 2 1/3 stars. (Well call me a noob, huh...)

608 hours, mm that's 25 days LOL, and i started playing ctb in 2015.

2. Why did you start playing CTB?

Because when i saw it's easy, fun and better than the other modes i started playing only ctb.

I play with Q for left and E for right. Middle finger for Q and Index finger for E.

Dakkychan, ExGon, Hyperw7, Rampage88, Deceitful. (I have more but i cant put all here XD)

2. Why did you start playing CTB? a friend invited me to play osu and he was a ctb player so I decided to play that way because it was the only one he showed me, at first I did not know there were more game modes lol, and when I knew It was already too late XD

Why did you start playing CTB?
Was trying out other game modes after playing STD for a year and found CTB to be the most fun.

What playstyle do you use?
1 and 3 to move and Z to dash

Who is your favourite CTB player?
When I was still learning CTB, the player who I always looked up to was Rael Kertia (ExCres) as he had taught me how to play CTB and was skilled at DT at the time. Nowadays, I look up to Zak, Tenshichan, and b-a-d-s123 for their amazing SS records, which inspired me to get better at SSing and have more #1s. It is more satisfying to get an SS or #1 than get more pp.

Which CTB map do you like the most?
Maps that are not overmapped, but still fun to play.

Who is your favourite CTB mapper?
No one in particular, as long as I like the map that someone makes, then I'm satisfied.

Do you use mods? If so, which ones?
HD, but lately i've been trying out all the mods, and FL is second best!

Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Solo, I always get nervous and get destroyed in multi haha.

Converts > CTB Specifics; 2-4 star converts to compete getting number #1 + unique patterns which can either be cancer or fun.

1. Started messing around in the summer, actually got serious about 4 or 5 months ago

2. Converts made my fave songs playable, then I realized I could reasonably make top 10 eventually if I keep working on my skill (still working on it haha).

3. Tab to dash, END/PAGEDOWN for left/right (index & middle fingers)

4. Guillotine is my inspiration

5. Halozy - Paranoid Lost [Eternal Wandering] by Kyuare. Honorable mention to sasakure.uk - AVALONnayo,AVALONna...!!.mp4 [AVALON] by Furan_495

Wow... it's really hard to chose one, so I'll say 5 and the reason: RAMPAGE88, due amazing scores w/ HD and great spins; ExGon, due amazing scores in high CS maps and HDHR FC in maps that players can barely get w/ NoMod; b-a-d-s123, due HD/HDHR FC maps that players can barely get w/ NoMod too, but mainly because his patience to use PF mod in every single map; DreStar and mjj741 due amazing spin + FL skills!

This question really sucks XD because I like maaaaaaaaaany maps but saying in exclusive maps I'll say three: Halozy - Paranoid Lost by Kyuare, Hatsuki Yura - Yoiyami Hanabi by Spectator and Nekomata Master feat. Shimotsuki Haruka - Element of SPADA by Tenshichan. These maps I really love the song, plus the fact I really enjoy play them from beginning to the end!

Uhh, well I don't have a favourite mapper :c

7. Do you use mods? If so, which ones?
Yes, I use mods and what I most like to use is HD, but I use other combinations like HDHR, HDDT, HDHRFL, HRDTFL and HDHRDTFL (w/ SD or not) in low star maps. EZ I use sometimes, PF I rarely use (because I don't have patience to use it >.<) and HT rarely².

I prefer solo, but sometimes it's fun to play multiplayer w/ some friends

Wanted to prove that my challenge was possible on t/657528 (Challenge the Users Below You), and thought I was good at CtB from then on out.

3. What playstyle do you use?
I use W for left, E for right. Dashing is with my N key, where my right hand is splayed out on its half of the keyboard.

4. Who is your favourite CTB player?
Cxlucha, Motion or ExGon. They're all p good uwu

5. Which CTB map do you like the most?
Probably Der Wald [Devastating CTB Terror] or AiAe [Infernal]. Half Time though, since I'm shit at hyperwalking and reading AR10 without HD, and shit at reading <AR7.5 with HD because of HT.

After exploring all modes a bit, it felt like the easiest one to start with.

3. What playstyle do you use?
Left shift for dashing, num 1 and 3 for moving.

RottenPotato, for being my friend and multiplayer partner.

That's a hard question as I'm not particularly fond of CtB maps. The various difficulties of Renatus by Soleily (the pre-installed map) have been long time favourites, though.

6. Who is your favourite CTB mapper?
I'm not really focused on mappers and I usually play converts, so I don't have any favourites.

7. Do you use mods? If so, which ones?
Yes, I've always used them within my skill range. Nowadays the EZ mod has my preference over anything. Basically I play converts with EZ or EZNC and CtB maps with HT. For easier maps below ar 7, I might try HR and I use FL for some beginner maps when I want to relax.

8. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Playing multi with a friend is what I like the most!

9. What is your favorite CTB Diff?
I like playing converts better than CtB maps, to be honest.

10. Do you like CTB?
Yes! In the end, I always keep coming back after periods of inactivity.

Because it was easy to get rank from it compared to the STD game mode which I was legitly unable to hit and move my cursor I was kinda jealous to other people so I basicly just give up myself saying it was impossible which I don't said it anymore at this days, then I slowly start to get addicted in CTB and I always wanted to get better from it and to learn more and more.. and fc some map and having some rival to play with comparing score and way more.

I mostly like converted map instead of CTB MAP because they basicly give some part which you need to memorise and then having a "FORCE" retry which you barelly can do a first try fc on them and I find them kinda nice to play with and learn specially with HR... but I don't really know the actual meta for be honest.

Val0108 style I mean basicly all convert map.

1. I've been playing CTB off and on for a little over a year (May 2018).

2. I'm not too sure why I started. I was probably bored of Standard and didn't have a desk to play it on while I was moving, so I experimented with the modes I haven't played before (CTB and mania) and CTB just kinda stuck.

3. I move with numpad 1 and 2 and dash with X. I use a laptop keyboard.

4. I don't really have a favorite player. I'm not that involved in the CTB community.

It's not my favorite because of the map itself; I just really like the song. :^)

6. I'm not sure who my favorite mapper is either. Ascendance is everywhere map-wise, so maybe them.

7. I'm strictly a no-mod player at the moment. I did play HR on Cup diffs, but those don't give out enough pp anymore. Maybe I'll experiment with mods in the future once I've improved.

8. Solo, but it'd be nice to play multis once in a while.

9. I like Salads, Platters, and Overdoses. Salads require little effort, but unlike Cups, you'll be moving most of the time, making them less boring. I can currently play Platters, and that's where CTB gets more interesting and maps are less limited in how they can be constructed. I'm not good enough to play Overdose just yet, but from seeing them being played, they look really cool.

10. CTB is alright. It won't be the main mode I play, but it definitely can be a good break from Taiko if I ever get bored or tilted.

Just over 2 years now

I used to play a ton of Geometry Dash and I found osu! through GD Youtubers most of my friends played CTB so I joined them for some multi and was instantly hooked.

3. What playstyle do you use?
Left shift for dash and . and / for left and right movement.

4. Who is your favorite CTB player?
Oh god where do I start I have met so many awesome people through this game that I honestly cannot choose <3 XD

I love it! even to this day it is one of those things that never gets boring! there is so much to play so many goals to reach and so many awesome people to talk to that it will probably never get boring for me.

1. 4 years next may, almost exactly 1 year after I signed up to osu!
2. For the easy top 50 scores

5. I like most ctb maps, I don't really have a favourite. Maybe Happppy Song?
6. I really like Kyptoric maps, but he's inactive now. From active mappers I enjoy Nelly, Ajamez and Ascendance the most.
7. HD and HDDT
8. Solo, I retry a lot
9. Rains with DT, my favourite mappers make the most fun DT rains as well.
10. Yes, CTB will always be my favourite gamemode, the community has always been really kind and encouraging to me and the game is still fun for me even after almost 3 years of basically the same gameplay. I do need breaks sometimes, but I always come back after a week or 2.

1: I have been playing for about 4 months now.
2: I started playing because I was declining in osu!mania once I reached 5k so I wanted to find something to fill the void and CTB became and open window for me.
3: I use the arrow keys to move and W to dash.
4: I don't really have a favourite at the moment since I don't know anybody besides ExGon, Hyperw7, Motion, Ascendance, JBHyperion, MBomb, chickenbible and some others.
5: Like #4, I don't have a favourite map but I would have to say that Come Hell or High Water mapped by MBomb is a good one, it's not been ranked and I would personally love to see it ranked.
6: Probably MBomb or Ascendance at the moment.
7: I used to use DT a lot when I started FC'ing Cups, but then I stopped using mods. I plan to use HR and DT in the future, and I just can't play with HD or FL.
8: I prefer multiplayer, I would like to find some people to play it with, but I do like to solo it too.
9: Not a clue
10: Like is an understatement, I love CTB, like, A LOT.

2. I only played standard, and would multi everyday with a friend, sadly, he lost every match, so one day he switched to CTB and beat me (yay!) although I was petty and decided to learn the mode to be better, suffice to say I stuck with it

3. I use numpad 1 & 3 to move, and use Z to dash (my shift key broke on my old keeb, so I learnt to use Z)

4. At the moment...? Len or the only catch player I actively watch is OneShotFox

5. "Toumei Elegy" by Kyptoric or "In The Middle of the Night" by Minato Yukina otherwise most recently, "Ethnik Khemikal Teknologi" by Nelly

7. For CTB specifics, I have to use No Mod, unless it's like a platter then I use HDDT.
For converts, I use HD, and for AR8.5 and below, I use HDDT

1. 3 years, but really its been 8 months of actual playing.

2. CTB was my first choice and it felt more comfortable than the rest from the start.

3. Basic <- and -> with Left CTRL when I'm using index+ring or Space + Delete and Left CTRL if I'm using thumb and pinky (Yes, I do use thumb and pinky. I twist my wrist slightly to have a perfect finger swap)

4. Quite a few. I basically watch whatever and whoever in CTB

5. HoneyGinger (osu! edit) is my practice grounds for stuff

6. Almost any creator at this point.

7. HDDT mainly. I do dabble with others if the map seems fit.

8. Both.

9. Platters and soon Rains.... just gotta get a bit more consistent in 4 star range.

10. Its the only one I know how to play. Love it to bits and going to try and play every possible map.

1. Just Recently. In Game Time is 12 hours, according to osu. I think I've been playing for a month or so.

2. I wanted to branch out from osu!mania and Catch The Beat looked MUCH, MUCH more impressive than both Taiko and Standard combined.

1: idk since the start of my life as an osu kid.
2: I was pretty bad at the other games at the start but i found this one map (I forgot) that was just a regular osu catch the beat map. I played it and realized that was what I was the best at.
3: Keyboard + mouse
4: Dakkychan is a flat out god and I like their stuff.
5: My favorite map is sans with the mbomb difficulty. I like the way it was formed and is a solid map.
6: Clsw makes some pretty good maps imo.
7: I'm mostly a no-mod player but my favorite mods are fl and nc.
8: I mostly play in solo as it's much more easier to get a good play. Plus imo multiplayer takes too long lol.
9:Platter as I'm the best at that and the fact that it's the most enjoyable when you're chilling.

2. it seem like a fun mode to play and i wasn't too bad at it at the time.

2. Because I saw some videos on this gamemode and I was like yo this is a cool gamemode, originally I downloaded the game just to play osu catch lmao

I'm not too sure but I like playing converts more tbh.

Ascendance probably.

I use mods when I feel like playing, mostly HD. I use mods such as DT and HR on easier difficulties.

1. I've been playing since 2019. I left the game for 1 year but improved, and I'm probably at my peak right now.

2. 'Cause I was terrible at the other mods, and I found it fun.

3. F and J as right and left and spacebar for dashing. It is good for me because it avoids mindblocking, but I think I should change it.

4. ExGon.

5. I like every type of map, but my favorites are convert 3-star and convert old ones.

6. Ascendance? I don't really know.

7. I like using HRDTFL in 1-star maps and HR in some 2-star. I don't use mods in the rest.

8. Solo.

9. Maybe Salad.

1) 55 hours playtime, for 13 months since day 1.

2) -because i had terrible acc on std back then.
-catch seemed a bit more relaxed when it comes to rankings etc.

3) - i spam dash sometimes it's a bad habit
-dominant hand index finger as dash, non-dominant hand ring finger and index finger for movement

4) dakkychan

5) function membrane - algebra (i don't play a lot of maps ;w;)

6) to be determined

7) mostly nm, occasionally hr, hdhr, hd

8) i mostly play solo but i try to play multi when there are some interesting rooms
