Wow. This is really popular. I would've never expected this, honestly. I'm not proud of this map at all, and I've obviously improved quite a lot since 2017, but I'm glad that something that I made back in the day is still appreciated to this day.

I don't really have much mapping experience, but i think the core parts of the song on SC are kind of boring to play compared to the rest of the map. They could be mapped in a more engaging way

I do agree actually, I've actually been thinking a bit about how to fix that, but I can't seem to think about any other patterns of similar difficulty ;-; It's either rolly stream or heck

If you do have a solution to this I'd be happy to hear it :D

I think changing up the patterns to be less repetitive, and maybe using some more SVs could make it a bit more unique, although i'm not sure if the song really supports many other patterns

there is a unique sound at 00:27:890 but its not as significant as 00:27:617 so i'll just change it to a double

I could have tried LNs, but I feel like that would have blended in with the harpsichord's line on the 1/1. I also didn't want to use 1/4 so soon in the map as the BPM is too fast for more common usage of it imo, which is why I stuck to 1/2.

I like the small challenge it presents to the players and is a bit of much needed variation in this section full of mostly simple 1/1 LNs and rhythms which helps keep player attention and engagement.

03:48:890 - i like this actually but you can try my idea, the idea is just same as bump, or closer to inverse bump. But the difference is we put slower speed in whole ln part, and the put a speed up to the gap between 2 ln, and keep the average sv on ln+small gap still 1 (even there is slowjam on ln and speed up on the gap). But to make this works i should suggest you to change the length of ln to make all gap similarly 1/4 length like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8734044
lets pick the first ln for example so we put slow jam start from 03:48:890 - (lets call it 0.8x on A) and then change again in 03:49:231 - to normalize (since 0.8x covers 5 section, and we need to normalize to 1 in 6th section so (1*6-5*0.8)/(6-5) = 2.0x speed on the gap)
So, 03:48:890 - 0.8x
03:49:231 - 2.0x
repeat for next ln
03:50:527 - this is trickier since only cover 4 section for each ln+gap. So since i want the gap looks like same length like the earlier sv, lets put 2.0x on 03:50:731 - , and that makes the first speed should be (1*4-1*2.0)/(4-1) = 0.667x
So, 03:50:527 - 0,667x
03:50:731 - 2.0x
or else you can change it to 0.7x - 1.9x i you dont want more than 2 number behind comma
then again, feel free to reject or accept, but this is pretty cool actually

  1. 00:11:527 (11527|3,12345|3) - This is perfectly playable. However, on SC and SHD, there are no stacks in this beginning section. It would be much better if you made the rest of the pattern like SHD (no stack).
  2. From 00:18:890 to 00:27:072 you should have the higher kick sound as a double as well.
  3. 00:27:072 (27072|0,27140|1,27345|0,27549|1,27617|0) - Look at this, and 00:27:072 (27072|3,27208|2,27345|3,27481|2,27617|3) - compare it to this. For hand balance, at 00:27:140 (27140|1,27208|2) - Ctrl+H this pattern.
00:28:163 to 00:45:617
  1. 00:28:027 (28027|0,28163|0) - Watch out for stack.
  2. In SHD, the layering is like so - Higher kick = triple, Lower kick = triple, harpsichord = double, hi-hat = single. In SC, it is - Higher kick = triple, Lower kick = double, hi-hat = single, repeating hi-hat = LN. This section has no clear layering to it; try this - Higher kick = triple, Lower kick = double, harpsichord = single, and maybe map the repeating hi-hat with an LN. Do not have any 1/2 stack in the pattern unless you seriously have to. In that case, it is preferred for the stack to go on column 1 or 4.

  2. 00:58:708 - Way too much for a 4 star map. 00:58:981 (58981|3,59117|3,59117|2,59254|3) - Patterns like this are not comfortable at all. Make it a 12 chord at 00:58:708 - a 34 at 00:58:845 - a 12 at 00:58:981 - etc. until 00:59:799 where the 1/4 pattern starts - This should have a 12341234 pattern.
  3. 01:00:890 and 01:01:436 should be doubles.
01:03:072 to 01:20:527
  1. I feel like here the LNs in the beginning are in the way of the layering. 01:03:072 and 01:03:617 should be doubles, but then there would be an awkward 1/1 stack no matter what, unless you change the LN to each be 1/1. The same occurs at 01:07:436 and 01:11:799.
  2. At 01:08:799 and beyond you are not mapping the clear sound (e.g. from 01:08:936 to 01:09:072 there is a louder sound than the rest of the LN mapped).
