It's like the original trilogy and the older Indiana Jones movies - there are always people who have never watched it. Always. The thing is, they're all so old that we all regard them as old hat, and spoiler the shit out of them, e.g. Aeris' death in FFVII or Galuf's death in FFV.

Super Smash Bros Brawl, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Mario Kart Wii are honorable mentions. They're really awesome games to play with friends imo (especially Brawl).

I really don't care for the DS version that much. For solo play, yeah, it's superior, but I don't ever solo play Mario Kart any more. I liked double-dash the least of any of the MK games. Not sure why. It just didn't sit well with me.

Well, personally, I hate racing games. To me, it's like "I'mma hold the A button down and move the joystick in different directions! This is fun..." 
But my favorite game EVER is most definitely TWEWY. The story... art... play-style... soundtrack... In fact, I have a hard time thinking of something I have AGAINST it. Too bad it's so damn hard to find nowadays.
Of course, my other favorites are: Golden Sun, EBA, Rhythm Heaven, Pokemon Platinum, Retro Game Challenge, Megaman 9, and more. But if you don't have TWEWY, stop whatever you're doing and buy it. NOW.

EDIT : I changed my mind, my favorite game of all time is any rhythm games (o2jam, osu!, etc.) and simple-looking yet brilliant RPGs such as Cave Story
I think my favorite game of all time is Megaman X for SNES, played it too much back when I was a kid.
I also enjoy the Legacy of Kain series and stealth action games like Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell.

This is a very hard choice >.< ATM osu! is working its way up, But World of warcraft is probably my favorite. Im addicted to the Arena's >.< trying to level up a few classes in order to see what i like best in PvP. So far im liking the healers, Resto druid or Disc priest. Or a rogue. Although i dont have a priest or a rogue of my own, Ive played on my friends and gotten to 2200 on Ruin with them ^.^

This is a really hard question to answer just because the game keeps being switched around. When I was a kid in the SNES era, it was Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars tied with Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong-Quest, during the Dreamcast era it was Sonic Adventure, GameCube had Super Smash Bros. Melee, and so on and so forth.
But it I had to choose one, it would be SMRPG for the sole reason that it was the very first game I ever played, getting me into gaming in the first place.

I love the whole Metal Gear series but 3 almost perfected it, the only problem i have with it is how the cobra unit has shit all back story and just seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
I'm also going to mention the Metroid series (although i haven't played the Metroid Prime trilogy ;_;) and the Legend of Zelda series for containing some of my most enjoyed games.

The original Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube, just so much fun that scales with the number of players you can get.

Probably not my favorite game of all time, but seeing this topic made me think about the final boss fight from Earthbound. It just turned that game from a trippy and colorful adventure to an absolute nightmare of a fight. It even broke the 4th wall in the greatest possible way that I don't think will ever be able to be recreated in a game ever again. Not even Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid was able to do it as well, and Psycho Mantis was cool as hell.
Earthbound is definitely somewhere at the top of the best games ever, I would say.

DotA like games. Team work! Strategy! That adrenaline you get with kill streaks! The game's use of line of sight! The heroes! Overall, it's like a lovechild of all RTS games.

Probably Super Smash Bros. Melee, I played it every day all afternoon with a friend, we got really good at it and eventually started organising tournaments. We were pretty young so we came up with stupid ideas like the other contestants having to fight and then we would be the ''final bosses'' you had to defeat to win the tournament. Ofcourse after months of nonstop ''training'' no one stood a chance It never really got boring and the only reason we quit was cause the Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl released, but it never gave us the same feel so we just quit the whole thing. Sort of a shame.
I would pick Ocarina of Time, but during that time I was too young and scared to leave Kokiri Forest so I basically let an older friend of mine finish the entire game for me in which I did nothing else but have my own little roleplay sessions in Kokiri forest, pretending I was ''sword training''.

Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSone (the remake for PSP is awesome too). It is the strangest game on my list ompared to my usual favored games, and I've never liked any other final fantasy. But so many hours put into it when I was younger, and I played it over and over with different strategies.

I loved that game SO much, I just beat it again about 4 months ago on an emulator. The game just never gets old, and I love how I can beat it without unlocking half the stuff the game has to offer. startropics is really good, I wish they would remake it for the wii or something.
