Hey there,

after internal discussion we decided on pulling this out of the qualified section for now. We thought that this map needs further re-vision, before it goes back to qualified. Your map generally plays okay, yet there are many sloppy patterns to be found. Let me point out the major ones quickly:

02:01:931 (3,4) - A small replace of those two, and they'll compliment each other way better. You can try something like this to keep your idea: http://puu.sh/hcS3K/9abdf8046f.jpg
02:06:131 (5,6,7,8,1) - Try stacking the slider end of 1 with 02:05:681 (4) - to give it a more polished feeling.
04:12:131 (2,3,4,5) - Patterns like this appear quite random, the song stays the same, but the distance doesn't. Maybe try something so it stays equal (especially in parts like that? How about a square?)
02:48:431 (3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - Same as ^. You could try avoiding the overlap of 7 and slider 1.
03:37:931 (1,2,3) - I know, just minor, but the spacing here is inconsistent. However, there are many of these issues, and we'd like you to fix them.
03:57:131 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) - This stream is not following the song properly, is it? You change the direction / shape, where it doesn't make sense. You should've at least keeping the curve for these 03:58:181 (8,9,10) - as well. https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3010431 Take that as an example.

^this one is because 04:12:131 (2,3) - 04:12:731 (4,5) - i set as same DS, because the inst is "drum-ring-drum-ring", i did not place them randomly, and 04:12:731 (4,5,6) - is a equilateral triangle, this will definitely help players understand the rhythm. slightly adjusted
02:48:431 (3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - Same as ^. You could try avoiding the overlap of 7 and slider 1.
^ture, i will change as you said, but this overlap really have nothing to do with the appearance, i was avoiding the overlap on the circles. many mappers are overlaping sliders because it wont confuse people in most cases.

well, about 5 bns approved this so i thought it was good to go lol.. bleh w/e

although i'm not absolutely against this dq, i have seen worse maps pass...
i really wish you guys can be more consistent with your quality dq's :X
for us right now, its litteraly a luck based roulette on which QAT was assigned to which map...

Well, I think the strict requirements of newamppers is not a bad thing. But I don't qualified to say such things.

It is/would be. Why would you DQ a map from a new mapper, but let an equally bad map from a more known mapper pass? That wouldnt make too much sense

A DQ should happen because the map shouldnt be ranked, not because a newbie has made a mistake that others did before without having consequences

I actually don't think even a bad map from a known mapper easily pass either, there is very often SOME kind of thought put into the map that differs from that mapper's other maps, maybe wants to try out new style/techniques. Point out a bad map from a known mapper who passed with a bad map?

It's not that it's more strict to new mappers maps imo, it's rather new mappers most likely DO have less experience in mapping and therefore the quality of the map isn't same as experienced mappers.

Greetings,

after internal discussion we’ve decided to take this set out of the qualification, as for the following reasons:

We think the quality still isn't sufficient enough, mainly due to the patterns looking rather random, unstructured, and unnecessarily messy. There are also poorly looking overlaps being found. We do not believe that these were put intentionally, as they look unclean and unpolished.

Let me give you a few more examples, to support things said above:

Patterning:
  1. 01:45:131 (1,2,3) - Generally looks sloppy. Furthermore, the varying slider shapes look really untidy as well. It’d be better to stick to a single shape.
  2. 03:12:431 (2,3,4,5,6,1) - Another messy pattern. 03:12:731 (3,4,1) - Why doesn't it have an equal spacing to them visually?
  3. 03:12:431 (2,5,2) - ^
  4. 03:28:931 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - ^
  5. 04:15:131 (3,4,5,6,1) - Does not seem to be done properly. Try using the function CTRL+ SHIFT + D and choose 5 circles, so you get an even spaced pentagon - then CTRL + G it until it’s a star, and rotate it as you wish.
Overlapping:
  1. 01:22:331 (3,4,1) - Overlap is untidy, and it's visible due to the low AR.
  2. 01:47:531 (1,2,3) - Overlap, which does not fulfill any further purpose, does it? We’d like you to get rid off these, unless they are 100% intended.
Spacing / Cleanliness:
The spacing in general seems arbitrary - it doesn't seem to follow really anything, nor does it show any kind of structure. Take these as examples:
  1. 03:45:731 (4,5) -
  2. 03:48:131 (2,3,4) -
  3. 04:28:781 (2) -
  4. 04:39:881 (6) -
  5. 05:00:731 (3) -

We are sure that your map will benefit from some more quality mods. Please keep in mind that the listed examples are just examples for the mentioned issues so that this generally applies to more than just these mentioned ones.

  2. 01:43:931 - i know you're usually follow vocals, but you should add a circle here to make this kiai more fun to play. The skipped note is clearly audible and the player feels that there is something empty here.
  3. 01:46:031 (3,4) - i don't really get why there is a smaller distance between these objects, the distance between 01:45:581 (2,3) - or 01:45:131 (1,2) - are way larger than 01:46:031 (3,4) - , and it should be better if you make things consistent because there is no reason to add something like an antijump here, it is not really intuitive, so you should increase the distance between 01:46:031 (3,4) - .
  4. 01:57:731 (3,4) - same reason as ^, this can be also confusing because the gap between objects are different, and that may be confusing.
  5. 02:45:731 (2,3,4,5,6) - this looks really untidy, the distance between objects is different, and the flow is linear, i mean, straight and this can be uncomfortable to play, you should make something more structured or tidy here.
  6. 03:52:031 (6,7) - this looks confusing here, because it is 1/2 and it could be confusing with the distance between 03:50:831 (3,4) - . You should increase the distance between 03:52:031 (6,7) - .
  7. 04:09:581 - You're following vocal everywhere, and that looks really weird that you skip this note here, you should add a circle here to keep consistency throughout your map.
  8. 05:21:731 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - This looks really untidy here, because you can see that they are overlapped 05:22:331 (5,7) - . It should be better if you make this pattern more airy for a better impression and it will be neater.
  9. 05:39:131 (5,6) - there should be a higher distance between these objects, you know the reason. (confusing etc.)

I realized that the big 'dub' sound only appears on kiai . Why you didn't place it entirely over this diff? this will allow nice hitsounding towards the map

  4. 00:20:381 - Circle will fits better than end slider because of that strong cymbal here
  5. 00:25:931 (1,2,3) - They looks like continuing play as 1/4, not 1/2 here . You may need to rearrange the position, to make it easier to differ them
  6. 01:35:381 (7) - Seems likely this circle placed on inaudible beat
