I didn't say that peer-pressure was the only reason. I just said that its one of the many reasons that don't justify throwing years of your life away for them, which makes them stupid reasons. Stop twisting my words.Sync wrote:
Because everybody smokes to fit in. Right. Wow, so the post was more retarded than I originally thought. Well done.
I'm saying that there is nothing wrong with doing things you enjoy, especially if it is an informed decision.
Like I said earlier, arguing about smoking is pointless.
Really though, good job on being retarded.Plus, you try to make it sound like "personal choice" is something intrinsically good, which it is not. Or that "things you enjoy" are something intrinsically good, which they also aren'tI won't get into this because it's a philosophical question and I have no interest in discussing it with this group of people
(on a side-note, peer pressure IS a major reason why people start smoking, which has been repeatedly confirmed by psychological studies and meta-studies.)
There can be many things wrong with things you enjoy, I don't see how thats not obvious.
Examples:
- Enjoy getting drunk and enjoy to drive home as opposed to getting a taxi or walking, because that would be boring or expensive. Also, driving faster is way more fun in that state.
- Enjoy being a pro osu player with no consideration for your health, ignoring the stinging pain in your left wrist that becomes increasingly extreme, but still playing up to 10k games a month for a year, thereby effectively crippling your hand for the rest of your life.
- Enjoy crack
- Enjoy killing people
