Fuck, I almost got in real big trouble with a cop today who thought my retired Ford CVPI I bought from the exact same police department's car auction was my attempt at trying to impersonate a police officer. I wasn't even driving around acting suspicious; I literally come out of Target with my bags of groceries and see this scrublord cop standing right next to my vehicle with HIS Ford CVPI parked right next to mine and starts asking for ID and why I'm driving an unmarked cop car around. I tell him I bought my CVPI from a police car auction a while back and I offer to give him proof but he still hesitates.... and then he notices my license plate. I've never met someone so fucking dense until now.
(I took a picture of my car next to his in the parking lot just for "comparison purposes," plus I'm a police car enthusiast; why else would I be driving around a retired ex-police cruiser?)

The "CA Exempt" plate is reserved strictly for gov't-owned vehicles (that includes on-duty police cars, I don't see how this nutjob failed to notice my license plate before all odds anything else), just a heads up for anyone that doesn't live in California
