Yeah, I felt like I've been a bit too lock happy lately, though I don't feel that way about the seduce me thread. I don't see much of a point in keeping a poorly veiled "stroke my e-peen" thread.Haneii wrote:
Darn; wish I was here sooner. That seduce me thread looked like it could have been fun (albeit, more of FG than OT thread). Although, I'm probably on my own when I think bad/lacking threads can be saved and shouldn't be locked so soon.
Oh, I guess I saw it more as a way to see how well others know each other in OT at the same time learning about others (ie: you'd post something that would incite them - it shouldn't have to be anything sexual. Just think interests/what the person gets excited over). You can also seduce someone into changing their avatar, trying a new food etc...Brian OA wrote:

Things sometimes turn around as not everything is decided by the OP. This is Off-Topic after all; it'd be just silly if it couldn't live up to its own name.Aurani wrote:
I actually think you are a tad bit slow with locking certain threads that obviously promise a yield of around 0 percent of interesting, intelligently written posts.
What mentality?Brian OA wrote:
There's that annoying mentality again.
Try some hand-over-hand help and save the threads. Mods, find the gem/potential in a thread and edit the OP and see how it goes (that is if they're salvageable. That's where you have to be quick ). Users, derail efficiently and attempt to save the thread + lengthen its lifespan~Aurani wrote:

The mentality that claims that because we are in Off-Topic, everything must be shit.Haneii wrote:

If you were clever enough you don't need mod intervention. Not every thread is born to be a gem, and some have the potential but everyone just shits on it.Haneii wrote:

Seconding this, because it's exactly what I was going to write and what came to mind after I read the first paragraph. Props for thinking just like meAurani wrote:
So no, neither age nor the fact that this is a video game forum decided on the outcome of its quality - it is just the sheer narrow-mindedness and immaturity of most people here, as they wouldn't be able to take care of a fucking rotten piece of toast, let alone argue on the viability of insurance companies' economic contribution to X nation's tourism and the like.
