1. rrtyui: The king, can basically do whatever he wants, people mistake his lack of playing certain things for the lack of ability to play certain things.
2. hvick225: hvick is the same as rrtyui, but with much better DT accuracy, slightly worse at everything else however.
3. WubWoofWolf: Impressive DT scores on older maps, and consistant good accuracy on difficult HDHR scores. In the last quarter of the year he showed proficiency and consistency in getting mundane normal high HDHR scores as well.
4. thelewa: Strong accuracy in HDHR and incredible aim, his lesser known AR8+DT older map scores are also noteworthy.
5. Dungeon: With his aim and accuracy, he expanded the horizons (with PeaChick), on what was considered possible to DT. He still holds some impressive, difficult to beat #1's currently.
6. Sayonara-bye: Sayo is impressive due to his very difficult accomplishments in DT, and to an extent (and much lesser known) HR scores.
7. Adamqs: Adamqs was one of the few to seriously play CS 6.5 on more difficult maps, and brought HDHR to maps that were thought impossible or very difficult with HDHR, with very few misses. Such as his A scores on Pi li Pa la, Insane Techniques, and Hurting for a very hurtful pain. He also achieved 1xsliderbreak on Senketsu no Chikai, and had goals for even more challenging scores before his departure, such as Miss You HDHR and Hollow Wing's Sentimental Skyscraper HDHR.
8. Captnxn: Is good at everything except for maintaining a position in the top 10. A strong HDDT player in addition to his streaming accuracy, stamina, and overall proficiency. Has several scores on old DragonForce maps, in addition to his iconic Freedom Dive 4 Dimensions scores.
9. Kynan: Expanded double time possibilities multiple times throughout 2014, getting several original scores, (until isokasapupuja rip). Kynan's high BPM proficiency has made him a noteworthy player of 2014. If Dungeon expanded DT through aim, PeaChick through Accuracy, then Kynan expanded it through sheer speed.
10. NerO: In the last quarter of 2014, NerO went from a very strong Hidden player, to a strong HDHR player, securing himself some original scores on difficult aim maps, most notable of which being Senketsu no Chikai, and Jumpudding.
Honorable Mentions: Isokasapupuja, HDHR, Rafis, Small K, EmperorPenguin83, Dsan, PeaChick, MeCarL, Dustice, Doomsday, Alumentorz, Angelsim
I based this list not off of PP rankings, or even player skill was underweighted. The most important factor in this ranking was what the player contributed as far as original scores, and expanding what was thought possible for their particular specialty of playing. For example, even though Meltina is a very skilled and consistent player, he contributed less to the overall picture of 2014 than other players above.
