Was playing std at the time (kinda hard not to notice a new game mode) and I played similar games before so.. why not.
also because i'm bad at standard

6k. But since almost no one makes maps for that mode, I'll say 4k/7k.

Shortly after it came out publicly in the official build... I think.

Depends on the song but generally: "NOT LNs"

Mostly solo at the moment, but I'd play mp if there's people to mp with.

1. Well, after my taiko and ctb skill didn't increase, I decided to play osu!mania lol

4K > 7K > 5,6K. I don't play 8K, I have no finger ._. (I was a 7K player, but now becomes a 4K player. Coz while I'm playing 7K my hand feels weird.)

Definitely a Multiplayer, I like to play with friends.

5. In no particular order: Zirkfied, Acceleration, TRIGGER*HAPPY, Utakata, Ai no Mahoroba, ...

6. 3-4 notes at the same time in 1/8th beat pattern (easy to get right, good for accuracy).

7. Solo.

8. I don't really have one. If I had to pick, I'd choose ABCD.

9. DJPop (known him for a long time now).

10. Ranked.

11. It's good, although I still prefer Lunatic Rave 2. Playing osu!mania feels awkward sometimes (not really sure why). Also the song selection and diversity in LR2 is just amazing.

1) I performed poorly in regular Osu and I've played piano, so Osu!mania fit well.
2) Lately, I've preferred an 8 key setup.
3) Home row. (asdf jkl;)
4) About 90 days.
5) Even though it's short, I like Two Steps From Hell - Dragon Rider
6) Building/Growing chords
7) I would love to do multiplayer, but no one has any of the maps I like.

Trills and streams are fun, but any pattern can be fun if it goes well with the music, even jack hammers. Sometimes.

I'd prefer a good multiplayer room over solo play any day, sadly there aren't a whole lot of good rooms. The majority are too easy, and the rest are too korean.

Should I have a favourite? Never saw the appeal of internet celebrities.

Spy.

I like to play fun and challenging maps, I don't really pay much attention to whether or not a map is ranked.

5k for first time cause of piu has 5 panels. For now i prefer 7k

1. started playing because i saw that it existed in osu!test and i've always desired a mania game that both supported 4k mode, worked similarly to stepmania, and had an expansive online ranking!

I only play 4k, so 4k.

SDGH, but this varies a lot.

Can't quite answer that. I don't play very often, I usually play for a day or two and stop for a month or longer.

Bangin' Burst is pretty ratchet. Counting unranked maps, April.#02.

Handgluts at 130-150 BPM.

No. While I like the fact that it encourages competition due to how accessible the leaderboards are in the game, but the 4K map selection is incredibly limited in the upper echelon of the game, which is what I generally play both in Stepmania and osu!mania. The hardest maps (the likes of Air Raid, One More Lovely 1.5), while they fulfill their purpose of being difficult, are generally not enjoyable to play due to how forced the difficulty is in most maps. DoubleTime does work for a couple of maps, but not many. I would love to see more ranked or unranked hard 4K maps that are hard because the song calls for it (i.e. musically relevant), and not because the mapper intends it to be insanely hard. It doesn't have to follow the intensity of the song precisely, I think AiAe [Wafles' SHD] is a great file; that's mainly because the difficulty isn't overly forced, despite its additional layering. I think that would attract higher-end 4K players a lot more than it does now.

I've been playing o!m for a while now so maybe I can get new answers:
1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
I was getting pretty burned out from SM because a lack of files to play, and a couple of dudes from FFR were playing osu!mania as well.

2. What is your favourite keymode?
4K.

3. What is the layout of your favourite keymode?
ZXVB

4. How long have you been playing osu!mania? (not including other games)
Probably a few weeks worth in total. Timing's still bad, so I probably haven't played enough.

5. Which osu!mania song do you like the most?
I guess you mean map? In that case I really like Candy Galy. If it's song choice, April.#02 is probably my favourite.

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
270-350 BPM jumpstream.

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Solo.

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?
I don't have one.

9. Who is your favourite osu!mania mapper?
I don't have one.

10. Do you like to play unranked or ranked maps?
Unranked, easily.

There's still tons of room for improvement personally, but I can probably say that I enjoy the game more than I used to. An integral part of rhythm gaming would be the maps, and while there are some silly maps at the top, most of them are usually playable and not really filled with cheap difficulty a la absurdly fast jacks or unhittable patterning. There are some pretty good very hard maps, despite most being SM converts. The ranked map selection needs work though...

The gameplay is good for what it is. I would like the HitPosition to be modifiable up to the decimal points, I feel that one HitPosition is too high and another is too low, despite having a difference by 1. Noteskin has no note snap by default, but I know it's under works at the moment. I can imagine this game getting really really good with some tinkering here and there, so I'm definitely looking forward to enjoying this game more than I used to.

I don't remember... Mostly because I was bored with other games I was playing at the time.

I like them all the same but am best at 4k.

default layout for everything but 8k which is asdf space jkl.

One year and 10 months. It's the first rhythm game I've been seriousish about~

fhana - Itsuka no, Ikutsuka no Kimi to no Sekai (TV Size)

Anything without super fast jackhammers.

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
I prefer solo because you don't have to wait and you can choose your own songs but I play multiplayer when I am lazy and want people to pick for me or to give me new maps.

Can't pick. I think Cuppp counts as an O2jam player.

I like to play both but I like ranked more just because of leaderboards and stats and some sort of guarantee the map doesn't completely suck.

It's been about nine months since I did my first response to these questions, thought I should re-do them haha.

1. I was playing regular osu! with a friend, just starting out, and accidentally downloaded a mania map and asked my friend what this weird guitar hero gamemode was. He told me mania and I was hooked. I haven't stopped playing, really. Maybe once :p

2. 4k all the way bb

3. DFJK, but I find that QWOP works fairly well too. On 5k I use DFJKL (J is special key)

4. About 2+ years ago maybe? Probably went tryhard about 1.5 years ago.

Mostly ranked maps, but there's many awesome unranked maps that should be ranked, Miracle 5ympho X, Dragon and Girl and Decoherence, and M.AM.A. for instance

All I wanted to do is to contribute to the "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" project.

Mine are 4K and 8K.

Default is upwards scrolling and x1 (Speed 3).

I've been playing for 1 year.

"DUB-I-DUB" by ME & MY. The Challenge/Insane chart is very cool!

As long as if there are NO HANDS (3+ note presses), then I am good.

I say Solo. If I had a Gamecube-to-PC USB adapter and two dance mats, then it would be cool workout using Co-Op charts and the Co-Op mode.

I got no one in mind, since I'm the only one contributing to the "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" project.

Since my first "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" beatmaps never got ranked on the official osu! website, I would have to say unranked. I upload my beatmaps to Google Drive instead.

11. Do you like osu!mania? :)
Yes; it is definitely worth a try, and beats DanceDanceRevolution when it comes to pausing in the middle of the game and skipping song intros.

Without hands, we wouldn't be able to play osu!mania! (no, soft ddr mats are not an acceptable no hands option. they must at least be metal pads before I accept that as a response)
