1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
Was told to try some stepmania converts way back when osumania was a supporter exclusive beta mode

this Tamura Yukari ft motsu from m.o.v.e - You & Me [justhow's 4K MX] or perhaps https://osu.ppy.sh/b/361052?m=3 cause it gave me a good challenge S'ing it with DT

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
chordstream

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Solo, I dislike the limited multi interface as well as I am a player who likes to do things in my own pace

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?
not sure if i have any

9. Who is your favourite osu!mania mapper?
this is hard for me to answer because the people who made my favorite maps also made the ones i hate with a major passion.

10. Do you like to play unranked or ranked maps?
I'd rather play fun superhard unranked maps, this is why i play all ranked ones on DT cause it's not really challenging to me without

I'd play it more if it wasn't for the input delay and framedrops, it feels choppy and awkward no matter how much i tweak settings so I'll say o!m is okay, I play it cause of the community, not the game itself haha

1. I used to play O2Jam when I was 4th? grade. One time during robotics club meating, my teammate showed me osu! and I was like "Hey! I know that game!". And so I downloaded osu! at home and I started playing osu! std, then I saw there were other modes, so I went and played them. Ended up playing mania until now since it's like the old times (online O2Jam, I only get to play O2Mania now).

2. 7 key

3. Used to be S D F (space) J K L, had to transition to S D F (space) Num 4/7 Num 5/8 Num 6/9 (depends on keyboard, I use 7-8-9 right now since I almost destroyed my 4-5-6 buttons) to fit hand.

4. Started playing mania last late December 2013 or early January 2014

5. Shoujo - Reminiscing, Double Universe, Bounce, P*light stuff, Agka maps.

6. Trills and/or Trees (Bride in Dreams type of pattern) (LN for the lulz!)

7. Multiplayer, as long as I play with people within my skill range. D:

8. Entozer (or some noob that's quite inspirational/I can learn from.)

9. Agka, no doubt (hands down)

10. Both, since there are also better unranked maps.

1. i had played stepmania/openitg for a long time before i found out about osu, so when i saw that osu!mania was a thing, i went straight to it

2. 4k, but i really want to get into 7k

3. it was qwop, but my w key is screwed up, so i use askl now

4. around a month or so now

5. definitely "DJ SHRAPNEL - BLUE ARMY' mapped by Agkaemon

6. i suppose stairs

7. usually solo, but i sometimes do multi

10. considering that too few sm style are ranked i prefer playing outside of osu! all together, so consider this as unranked
11. not really due to it being the exact opposite of sm in terms of physics.

6k. But since almost no one makes maps for that mode, I'll say 4k/7k.

5. In no particular order: Zirkfied, Acceleration, TRIGGER*HAPPY, Utakata, Ai no Mahoroba, ...

6. 3-4 notes at the same time in 1/8th beat pattern (easy to get right, good for accuracy).

7. Solo.

8. I don't really have one. If I had to pick, I'd choose ABCD.

9. DJPop (known him for a long time now).

10. Ranked.

11. It's good, although I still prefer Lunatic Rave 2. Playing osu!mania feels awkward sometimes (not really sure why). Also the song selection and diversity in LR2 is just amazing.

1) I performed poorly in regular Osu and I've played piano, so Osu!mania fit well.
2) Lately, I've preferred an 8 key setup.
3) Home row. (asdf jkl;)
4) About 90 days.
5) Even though it's short, I like Two Steps From Hell - Dragon Rider
6) Building/Growing chords
7) I would love to do multiplayer, but no one has any of the maps I like.

Favorite maps I suppose are Sound Voltex maps.. and Masquerade - m2u [andych]

No. While I like the fact that it encourages competition due to how accessible the leaderboards are in the game, but the 4K map selection is incredibly limited in the upper echelon of the game, which is what I generally play both in Stepmania and osu!mania. The hardest maps (the likes of Air Raid, One More Lovely 1.5), while they fulfill their purpose of being difficult, are generally not enjoyable to play due to how forced the difficulty is in most maps. DoubleTime does work for a couple of maps, but not many. I would love to see more ranked or unranked hard 4K maps that are hard because the song calls for it (i.e. musically relevant), and not because the mapper intends it to be insanely hard. It doesn't have to follow the intensity of the song precisely, I think AiAe [Wafles' SHD] is a great file; that's mainly because the difficulty isn't overly forced, despite its additional layering. I think that would attract higher-end 4K players a lot more than it does now.

I was getting pretty burned out from SM because a lack of files to play, and a couple of dudes from FFR were playing osu!mania as well.

2. What is your favourite keymode?
4K.

Probably a few weeks worth in total. Timing's still bad, so I probably haven't played enough.

I guess you mean map? In that case I really like Candy Galy. If it's song choice, April.#02 is probably my favourite.

270-350 BPM jumpstream.

There's still tons of room for improvement personally, but I can probably say that I enjoy the game more than I used to. An integral part of rhythm gaming would be the maps, and while there are some silly maps at the top, most of them are usually playable and not really filled with cheap difficulty a la absurdly fast jacks or unhittable patterning. There are some pretty good very hard maps, despite most being SM converts. The ranked map selection needs work though...

The gameplay is good for what it is. I would like the HitPosition to be modifiable up to the decimal points, I feel that one HitPosition is too high and another is too low, despite having a difference by 1. Noteskin has no note snap by default, but I know it's under works at the moment. I can imagine this game getting really really good with some tinkering here and there, so I'm definitely looking forward to enjoying this game more than I used to.

1. I was playing regular osu! with a friend, just starting out, and accidentally downloaded a mania map and asked my friend what this weird guitar hero gamemode was. He told me mania and I was hooked. I haven't stopped playing, really. Maybe once :p

I love it I just wish there were less hold notes on 7k charts. Or if there was a mod like Legacy Note in IIDX where holds are changed into 2 keys.

7K, 4K

7K: S-D-F-Spc-J-K-L
4K: X-C-N-M because fuck ghosting.
